Brawler and LI Rework on Bullroarer Wednesday Posted: 03 Sep 2021 11:54 AM PDT As Cord hinted at last week and formally announced today, there'll be a beta test of the new Brawler class, alongside an early preview of the Legendary Item rework this coming Wednesday, September 8, on Bullroarer. Fwiw, he mentioned that the LI rework in particular is in an early state, and they're doing this to get feedback on how the process is going. There'll also be an early access to the beta on Tuesday afternoon for content creators and wiki editors, so they can get a head start on writing. All in all a nice Labor Day surprise! Posted: 03 Sep 2021 10:22 PM PDT Yes, you read that right: this post is about some ideas I've brainstormed to expand the task system. You might think to yourself, "Hold on! Tasks have never been important! They were thrown in as one of the many ideas that made it into the game but was quickly forgotten about! They're as relevant to the playerbase today as the Hobby system!" And you know what? I agree with you. Here's the thing: that's exactly why I want to come up with ideas to improve it. Is it a legitimate game system? Has it been in the game for a long time? Do you want to see it improve? If you answered yes, then this is the post you're looking for. We all want to see each game system get the amount of care and devotion it deserves, so let's take a chance and show SSG that our ideas have merit š (Yeah, I know...the task system is such a small part of the game that it isn't worth the trouble. But so is the Hobby system, and people have been begging for an update to that since 2008!) First, let's take a look at what the task system is: it's a way to unload your vendor trash without getting you any money for it -- presumably, to combat inflation. The max amount of money you can have on a character at once is 9999g, 999s, 99c. That might sound like a lot, but people can hit the cap on their own a lot more easily than you think. (Personally, I've never had more than 1500 gold or so, but I'm not the best player š). In return for giving up the money, you get (a small amount of) xp, ixp, and reputation. All fine and dandy, except you're only allowed to do so many tasks per day. You start at 5 and work your way up to 10. You can expand it to 15, and reset the daily limit, with Mithril Coins, but even then, you can only do a maximum of 75 tasks per day (granted, the number of people who do that many are probably few and far between -- and no; I can't be bothered to check that -- but at least the option is there). Tasks usually award 300 rep each. If you did all 75, and used reputation accelerators, you could earn a max of 45k rep a day doing tasks. Most reputation factions only take 85k rep to go from neutral to kindred, so theoretically, a player can reach max rep in 2 days doing tasks. However, that assumes that the player could do the following:
I'm going somewhere with this; I promise. Now consider that there are task-related deeds. Every 100 tasks you complete awards you with 5 LP and an increase to your task limit by 1. Later tiers also award you with a cosmetic cloak. But once reached 500 tasks, there's nowhere left to go. Oh sure, they're still a way to grind rep and xp, but you need to do a lot of them to advance any meaningful distance. Granted, there is that repeatable quest that awards the crafting ingredient, but that's barely scraping the surface of what the task system could really be. I told you I was going somewhere with this. If you can do 500 tasks, you can do 1000. In this way, you can expand the number of tasks people can do per day (while still letting them purchase mithril coins for extra). Here are some of the rewards we could place for reaching new milestones:
Perform 600 tasks Rewards 5 LP and +1 task daily maximum
Perform 700 tasks Rewards same as above, but next tier
Perform 800 tasks Rewards same as above, but next tier
Perform 900 tasks Rewards? Same as always, but tasks will now award +10% rep,xp, and ixp
Perform 1000 tasks Rewards: same as always, but now tasks award +20% rep, xp, and ixp [link] [comments]

Where to buy lotro points other than in game store Posted: 03 Sep 2021 11:47 PM PDT Is there a way? I'd like to buy a friend an aria and did not see points in the lotro market anymore. [link] [comments]

How does landscape difficulty work in group content? Posted: 03 Sep 2021 06:02 PM PDT E.g. If I do Carn Dum on deadly with a friend who is on normal, do they do more damage than me? And I take more damage than them? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Sep 2021 07:58 AM PDT I haven't found an active kinship of significantly older (or at least substantially more mature) players in a long time, so I tend to get bored or frustrated with the superficial level of social interaction and don't stay long. The best ones I was ever in were family outfits with adults and their kids playing together. The ex-military ones were pretty good too. Both seem to be less common now. During the server consolidation in 2015, I moved many of my numerous toons to Arkenstone but haven't found a permanent kin there yet, one with competent (meaning intelligent and organized) leadership and friendly, active kin-mates. If that sounds like yours and you're currently recruiting, let me know who to contact in-game. I also transferred characters to Crickhollow, Gladden and Landroval but haven't played them in ages. Maybe I just need to start anew on Treebeard where the VIPs hang out. [link] [comments]
