Tomb of Elendil - is it possible solo as a 46th level hunter? Posted: 19 May 2021 09:51 AM PDT I'm playing Lotro for the first time so this is all new to me. I thought I might have outlevelled this instance but I've just lost in the second level down into the tomb after being mobbed. Is the tomb possible solo or do I really need to get support? Does anyone have any tips? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 May 2021 09:19 AM PDT I came back a month ago, after many, many years. I grabbed the free quest packs last year in advanced, and had been enjoying myself for a while, even got VIP a while ago. I made a post about peoples opinion on a new, new game experience and was, a... mixed response lol. But after playing some more, I am realizing how much I dislike the progression in this game. The fact you level up so easily and so fast, and you can leave behind WAY too much content, and have to use some dumb item you have to spend real money on, to stop gaining XP, to actually enjoy the content, is weird. It makes the game feel very lazy and like they are saying the content isn't really worth doing. I really feel like they don't value our time, especially with the amount of pay for convivence features now in the game. Always throwing it in our face basically saying hey, buy our XP scrolls, etc. I struggle to bring new people and friends, even ones who used to enjoy, into this game due to its progression and ham fisted promotions and content locking. I understand they are a small company but they are alienating the new player-base and seem to only care about existing/old players, which right now, with the new LOTR MMO being cancelled and so many people looking for a new experience, now is a chance to take that spot. It feels like this game is left alive by the old players paying for convenience and VIP, which I don't see as sustainable. Quick EDIT: I'd like to point one thing out, that I've had people tell me many times in the past that "its the story that matters". That's well and good, but, when the core gameplay loop and experience for new players is imo, flawed, where a lot don't stay, that should be addressed before story, before putting out more expansion after expansion and quest packs (which i despise how early they are required for new players). Started playing GW1 for the first time, and it incentivises you to play the content, not skip it, and thats an older, assuming smaller playerbase than here. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ TLDR: Feels like they don't care about their older content and new players, with this progression system that requires you to spend real money to get an item to halt XP to do older content. EDIT: Ah yes downvote good discussion lol [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 May 2021 01:53 PM PDT Who thinks a full cell shaded graphics version of this game would be awesome, not borderlands entirely but something close, since the engine can't be upgraded they could cell shade the graphics especially with the terrain and the tree's. And add 4k ultra resolutions I think the game would last another 10 years + might even bring in an entirely new audience. A few way this could be done for example; what SweetFX does with some games, another option is an artistic filter like a mod for Diablo 2 does called "Project Diablo 2" which adds a slight blur to the textures giving it a sort of cartoon stylized look similar to the artistic filters found in Photoshop. I've seen artistic filters in dozens of other games, I'm sure it wouldn't be much to even give us a few of them in the Video Options for the game. One of the things that makes this game annoying is that with the upgraded character graphics (which look fantastic btw) it feels strange with them pasted into the scene against tree's and terrain that look like they are being rendered on the equivalent to Playstation 2 terrain and world graphics. I feel like the game is so big that SSG would have to spend millions for a small team to re-do all of those area's and expansions in terms of graphics so the work around should be to give us these alternative graphic filters as a built-in and as a part of a patch that also gives us 4k Ultra support. I'd love to hear what the community thinks about this idea! [link] [comments]
