Posted: 08 Aug 2020 03:54 PM PDT My wife and I started playing lotro 3 weeks ago and we're loving it! My kids (11, 7, 6, 5) have been begging to play, and today my wife and I walked them through the intro quests individually. I bought the .99 expansions and used freelotroquests for all of them, so they're Premium players now. The youngest can't read yet, but the others can. I figure that we'll over level the content quickly and they won't have much trouble with landscape combat. The dream is to do 6-person instances as a family :D I hope lotro is still around in a few years. Does anyone else play with young kids? Any tips to share? [link] [comments]

What MMO's is this most similar to? Posted: 08 Aug 2020 12:45 PM PDT Assume I've played most of the mainstream MMO's in the last 10 years.. WoW etc. Which one would this be most similar to, in terms of mechanics and gameplay? Is it WoW-like, or more FFXI/EQ like? Or neither? I tried it YEARS ago, but don't remember much about it. Is the world heavily instances? Is there a dungeon finder? Are there things to do in the game world other than kill 10 rats over and over until I am at the level cap, with some dungeons in between? I've heard it's expensive to play this game, is that still true? [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Aug 2020 05:47 PM PDT I've been having total indecision on what to play when returning to the game, Guardian vs Captain vs other. I'll probably spend 75% of my time solo due to sporadic schedule with work and family. But, I really want to be able to get a group when I need/want one to do group focused content. My initial reaction was to pick Hunter due to the quality of life it seems to offer and I was normally ranged DPS in other games. But, I read that they are overpopulated and I'll have a hard time finding groups later on, especially if I want to raid. All of this is what I've read across various sources, not claiming it is accurate. Guardian seems attractive due to the damage mitigation and ability to pull large groups of mobs and laugh it off while killing them. Captain seems attractive due to its flexibility in roles and group offerings. Are they equal to each other in ability to solo late game, toughness, damage output solo, etc? Will I be able to get groups for any content I want to do pretty easily with both? Are there particular class advancement items that are just awful with one vs the other? e.g. Captain group deed requirements? Any other current information/thoughts you can provide? Much of the data out there is a year+ old and may not reflect current patch levels. I appreciate the feedback, apologies for the book. Thanks for your time! [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Aug 2020 07:04 AM PDT I really want to play this game but even after days of looking up and tweaking UI it still holds me back. Is there anyway to improve inventory management and quest tracking? I think if I can get them in a good place Ill be much happier. I tried the one bag add-on but then it still opened my regular bags so I had to delete that and just combine the normal bags into one. Is there an add-on that auto sells trash or gives inventory in a list view? Is there a way to improve the way quest locations are displayed on the map? Map zoom? Maybe a way to set a waypoint or pin a location that I would like to travel to? I guess one of the biggest issues is not being able to resize some things. And one more thing that I think would be cool is a text to speech button for quest texts. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. [link] [comments] |
