I LOVE that we can set up our own lights now in homes!

EDIT: For those who didn't realize it's a possibility - there is a special vendor called Ambience Furnisher in every homestead, he sells all kinds of lights for light hooks and special effects for ceiling hooks. Here's DecoduMilieu page with more details, scroll to the "new housing items" section.

    __________

This is my elf's Rohan bedroom with intense blue area light imitating light coming from the window, snow effect imitating dust particles in that light, and Morgul mists blue for extra looks. Plus orange campfire light in the back as fireplace for an eye-pleasing contrast. Possibilities are endless, if only we had more deco hooks....

Masters of Destiny kinship is actively recruiting on Gladden.

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 01:40 AM PDT

Thank you for taking the time to check out our recruitment info. As a returning founder of Lord of the Rings Online, I was an original member of Chaotic Serenity who came from Asheron's Call 2 to the now shut down Windfola server (my original characters are trapped there). However, a month ago, I started fresh playing again(I am Jarusathir and Jarusaran) and I have created a new Gladden based kinship - Masters of Destiny. Our kinship goal is as follows:

The Masters of Destiny kinship strives to be a friendly, family centric kinship that recognizes a variety of playstyles while advancing the goals of its players.

Masters of Destiny – Basic info

    1. Masters of Destiny is a new, growing, family centric Gladden based kinship with an experienced, dedicated leader and supportive officers who welcome all player types, classes, races, skill levels to help you achieve your own personal in game goals.

    2. We are a casual group that has no requirements about how you game or interact, but we have started a discord server and will eventually establish a facebook page so our kinship can interact with one another. Joining these isn't a requirement, but we'd like to get to know you and be able to pass on information, tips, schedules, etc. for your benefit.

    3. In this first recruitment phase, we are currently catering to new, returning (starting fresh) and mid-level players (levels 1-70) who want to grow with us. However, we are open and seeking high level players (potential officer/s) who recognize this as an opportunity to help shape a fledgling kinship. We want our veteran players to help develop and support our members' transition into end game content.

    4. Full disclosure - We do not currently have a kinship house (estimated Nov. 2020), but I (Leader) do have a Rohan mead-hall (Eastfold hills district with full crafting facilities) with the plans on purchasing one of the premium islands for the kinship when we are able. In the meantime, we'll be stocking up our decorations and trophies for future decorating and display.

    5. The Masters of Destiny primarily plays daily around 7-8 p.m. EDT, with members checking in throughout the day/night. However, we are wanting to help you connect to other members who play at the same level, and time as you, so you have people to share your journey through Middle Earth.

We recognize there are many kinships out there, but I hope you take the time to find the right fit for you. So if you are interested in more information, have questions, and/or would like to join, please contact (mail or in game tell) Jarusathir, Jarusaran, Mireasia, and/or Melibrien for more information and potential recruitment.

    Champion medium warsteed build

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 07:43 PM PDT

I'm a level 77 champion and just got my first medium warsteed. What trait tree should I specialize in, and how should I go about spending my trait points? Also, how can I get relics for my legendary bridle?

    Wardens and solo leveling

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 08:18 PM PDT

I am a returning player after a long break, and am currently leveling up a warden. What I am wondering is how other classes compare to wardens when soloing group quests and fellowship content. With my warden at level 40 I can easily solo 5 even level elites&elite masters or even some nemesis bosses, but I dont see how other classes could manage the same. For example, I have an old 50 hunter that struggles vs 3-4 signature mobs. Are wardens really just that overpowered? Or does the scaling change at higher levels and balance things out? I would like to try other classes, but If I want to solo as much content as possible it seems silly to play anything other than warden.

    Looking to get into LOTRO

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 11:53 AM PDT

Hey everyone I'm looking to get into the game, I've played on an older server, but I want to start fresh, what would be the most populated server to play on? Also I'm wanting to eventually raid, what's raiding like and is it still active in the game?

[Lore/RP Question] Would a Warden or Hunter make more sense for a marchwarden of Lorien?

Warden flavour text aside, which class would make more sense as a marchwarden of Lorien?

What Are Your LP Grinding Routes?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 01:03 PM PDT

Just out of curiosity, for those of you who grind LP, what are your routes you use to grind? I usually do all Ered Luin Deeds, Shire slayer and explorer, and then Bree-land Quest Deeds, and some slayer deeds. It takes a while, and is more suited for questing. When I don't want to quest and just want to get as much LP as possible, I usually just do EL and Shire slayer/explorer.

Question on purchasing the expansions or just quest packs

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 07:57 AM PDT

By and large I am a solo player and tend to stick to questing more often than not, but I've recently been on a kick of revisiting old MMOs I played years ago to experience them one last time in full, which made me curious about a couple things.

    1. I already used the code for the free quests, but when it comes to each expansion what is provided when you purchase the whole expansion vs. just the quest/instance packs? As in, what special stuff comes with each one and do you think they justify the price?
    2. Is the LFG tool active at all, and are there any restrictions I should know about?
    3. Is there a guide for doing the content (quests and dungeons) in the correct story order? SWTOR has a bunch of graphics people set up to make sure you do stuff in the canonical order and I love that sort of thing, is there anything like that for LOTRO?
    4. Is hunter a decent choice for someone that would like to solo all quests, group included, or is it too squishy? It's been ages since I last played but for example I remember places like Agamaur in the Lone Lands being very group oriented. Are there classes that can do that stuff on their own?
    5. Are there any sites for music left alive? I recall that the bigger ones went down some years ago.

    Thanks in advance!

Inventory filling up with "Steel-bound Lootbox" -- throw away or what?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 06:51 AM PDT

My family's inventories are filling up with non-stacking lootboxes. I've got 4 keys, but I'm inclined to save them till I'm a higher level. (Is that a good idea?)

The lootbox wiki page indicates that keys can drop as treasure, but I've never gotten one.

Should we just throw these lootboxes away? They keys seem pretty expensive on the lotro store, but maybe there's nothing else to spend LP on eventually?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 06:30 AM PDT

Returning player, don't know anyone in game anymore but would like to make RP friends and long term contacts as well as just be immersed among other RPers. Which server has more RPers these days?
