    Greetings fellow Middle Earthers

    Jumping back on LOTRO with a new dedication now that I have a new gaming PC and as well got my nephew hooked on the game. I have a specific prospective issue to mitigate:

    I currently live in Japan, and he is on the EST in the US. What's your recommendation for the best server we both can use and benefit from even when we are not playing together?

    Also, what does Steam have to offer that simply downloading the game does not? Sorry Im a noob in that department.

    Any tips on farming gold?

    So, I've been looking into end game gearing for a while on my hunter (Heliond) and he currently has maxed LIs (bow and swappie and melee). And I am working on getting essences. One of the fastest ways I've found to get gold is to do Rako 4-6 man and following it up later with a 12 man (can do with 6-9 but if you fail no one will join later bc raid locks) full run next day. If challenge on all but UO you get around 77 coins for all that which is about 12-13 crystals (On landy they are 150 each so 1875 gold there), which seems pretty good for low risk stuff. Then I do MT dailies+Osgiliath for empowers which also sell pretty good (30 per SoE on landy so 1890g a week there). Also when Tham Mirdain is FI I do it in like 3-5 min solo. Together around 3765g a week for about ~7ish hours. Are there any other good ways to get gold? So far my trigger luck is pretty bad (0/11) so I really might need a lot of gold for this!

    Edit: I figure this information is useful for those trying to gear their LIs as well. Currently I am 129 but I slow level once per week (Every Monday) and will be doing remm for the gear/essence replacements when I turn 130.

    New Legacy server in 2020?

    I heard rumors about it and the dev letter mentioned a "Harder" version of the legacy servers already in place. As of now has anyone heard any news of such a server?

    Returning Player coming back with New Player

    Hey all! So I used to play a ton back before RoI came out. Preordered that expansion, and upon release basically quit because of what happened to my Warden (felt unplayable). I have come back every now and then over the years starting new toons with friends and such, but none of them really made it past like level 20. But with all the free quest packs and such going on, I figured now is a great time to get a new player into the game. But I have a few questions.

    First, it looks like most of my old characters are gone? I've have checked every server, and it only has some super low level alts I used to farm LP from deeds. Looking online, it seems like it might because my characters were on servers that got consolidated, so I need to pick one of the new servers to transfer them to. But the transfer option is currently down due to server issues. Is there any news about when they expect to have the transfer feature back up and running?
    Second, what is a good server for new players? I know the community is pretty great across them all, but is there one that tends to have more people active at the lower level content?
    Third, I know class pairings aren't super important especially for low level content, but what's a pretty fun pairing? The new player I think is interested in Hunter. It seems easy to play, does good damage, and may not have to move around as much, which is good because they don't play a lot of games and I don't think they have ever played an MMO. It's also great because it comes with all those port skills. What pairs well with that? I was thinking either Guardian or Champion to either tank everything or just kill everything super fast, but not really having any healing might be rough. Any suggestions? I'm probably going to also solo a Warden, and might try out the new Beorning.

    What server should I use? (most US are blocked)
