| Considering finally giving LOTRO a try - Any tips for a newbie? Posted: 05 Dec 2021 04:31 AM PST Hi! I've always heard of lotro but never really gave it a look as WoW was my game. I love the lord of the Rings though and it was that and The Hobbit which sparked my interest in fantasy in the first place. With the longevity of the game it seems a bit difficult to get into, so is there any good advice you'd give to someone looking to start their journey in Middle Earth? I've been looking at classes and I'm considering a Captain as I've always longed for a true support+DPS class which doesn't really exist in WoW. I tanked for years in WoW but stopped quite some years ago due to general toxicity. If I start now am I basically going to be solo until the latest expansion? I didn't see if LOTRO has a dungeon finder like WoW where you can be put into random groups for low level dungeons to see then. I plan to take the game super casually and chill so it's not a huge deal but I'd hate to miss out on interesting content. I'm NA but I'm thinking of jumping on the EU RP server because I've seen a lot of things saying it's even more chill, but I'm worried about no players when I can play. I'm big into the lore though so not sure how the regular servers are; I know there's no way around it entirely but I'd rather minimize seeing jokey WoW style names because, well, it seems insulting to the source material. | Having trouble installing the game. Posted: 05 Dec 2021 01:34 PM PST I used to play this years ago, and my husband and I want to play again. We bought 2 laptops that are exactly the same, but he was able to install the game and I couldn't. I keep getting an error message "There was an error generating the hash code for the patch file." | Easy access to allegiance panel (and others) Posted: 05 Dec 2021 07:12 AM PST Easy access to your allegiance panel and a ton of other panels you might not be aware off. In UI settings you can assign any panel to the buttons that are on the left or right of your 1 to = skillbar. Normally this is where you find your bags, crafting, deed log and much more. | BUG: Microsoft Sculpt Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Combo Posted: 05 Dec 2021 12:28 PM PST Hi there, Not sure if the game devs ever look at this subreddit but I have a very particular issue that I cannot find mentioned anywhere online or find a fix for. Basically, the game doesn't detect my wireless keyboard. It detects the mouse just fine. Even more mind boggling, when the game runs even in windowed mode, the keyboard doesn't work in Windows. I have tried DX 9, 10 and 11 modes. Windowed, Full screen and Full screen windowed with no luck. Wired keyboard works fine. No other game has this behavior. Does anyone have any ideas / clues?
