| Posted: 10 Nov 2021 02:57 PM PST One of the selling points is that your supposed to be able to start these at level 20, but for me the initial travel for some reason requires a mithril coin because I have to "discover" the travel point. Are we seriously required to spend a mithril coin if we want to start it before 130? Or am I missing something? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 10 Nov 2021 11:04 AM PST For the first time, I've worked a character all the way through to Minas Tirith. I wish I never had. My laptop is by no means a good gaming laptop, but it runs any region fine with 5 sec loading times and 50-60 fps, no problem. I've noticed lag a bit more frequently since Rohan, but nothing gamebreaking. Now in Minas Tirith/Pelennor/Talath Anor I get black screens every 5 min, the loading of important objects and characters take 1-2 minutes sometimes (no joke, running from first circle to the Citadel is probably faster than waiting for the stablemaster to spawn...) and I'd say 3 out of 5 times when I go inside/outside of an interior location, my game crashes. My game has never crashed before. It's taken me about 4 days to complete 10 quests and I just can't bring myself to finish MT, trying to speed through the epics now. My question is, does it get better after MT or is this the new standard I'll have to accept? Rant: how in the frick did MT ever pass QA? I've seen mention of how terrible MT is multiple times, but now that I'm here myself it's so much worse than I thought. How is it possible that we're at U31 right now, and U17 has never been fixed after all these years? I love this game and most of its aspects but this is absolutely ridiculous. I've played many games and am usually the last one to call a game/content "unplayable", but as a completionist MT is the first piece of content I just can't finish. Sure, the game has its grinds but nothing up to this has been unplayable. I hope this is an exception and not the rule going forward in the game. Edit: thanks for the replies everyone, I am now more motivated to continue the game and have also finished most of the epic line in MT for now I think. Yes I was running the 32 bit version on a 64 bit system but changing to 64 didn't help me, sadly. Looking forward to Mordor, which seems to be the next most hated thing in lotro.
