When inspecting lvl 130 characters I noticed that all of the high end armour and jewellry follows the same naming pattern. The names are ridiculously long and almost sound like they are AI-generated. What happened to simple names like Stone-biter, Berghelm or just names in other languages like Wig-Feld, Dornechor etc? Those added a lot to the immersion while playing in my opinion. I recently came back (on Crickhollow) and I only see a few selection of items, most of them being high level stuff anyway. Posted: 03 Oct 2021 06:24 PM PDT Hey all, I'm settling down for the long Canadian winter which is apparently going to be even colder than normal, and LotRO is something I come back to from time to time. I usually pick a new class to level when I do. Some up fronts:
In the past I have done Warden, Captain and Guardian, and I'm just kind of over melee. Which doesn't leave too much, Hunter and Lore Master are definitely the front runners. I have dabbled with both, I like Blue LM but I miss the old Embers interactions and get kind of bored. Hunter I strongly prefer red line but I remember it being kind of frustrating to level with (but things change, it's been a while) and I've never had too much interest in Minstrel because of not being interested in being a healer if I ever did find a group randomly. I don't really consider Rune Keeper all that interesting to me personally, it just doesn't appeal. So I'm looking for some opinions from people who play them now on what they find fun and engaging and interesting about their classes and why maybe I should give it a shot! Remember I'll only really be doing landscape content and maybe a few random dungeons here and there. I'm not worried about what is and isn't meta for end game stuff. Thank you! [link] [comments] | ||

Server I'm on apparently becomes Russian when I play (brandywine) so kinda feel like I should just restart on Arkenstone (chat was only english from what I saw.) | Playing lotro on 4K screen..... How? Posted: 04 Oct 2021 02:05 AM PDT Decided to reinstall Lotro yesterday as I haven't played in a while. But now I have a newer laptop and a 4K monitor, does anyone know how to scale all of the UI elements? I can scale the UI as a whole to 2.0 and increase the font size of the chat windows and this looks fine, but the inventory screen et al, still come up as tiny. I know some people have said to just change it to 1920 x 1080, but if I do that if completely messes up the resolution and I cant get it to full screen at all. Literally the only way to play in not 4K is windowed mode and I really don't want to do that. I am not 100% sure if I am using the 64 bit client as I don't know if that will make a difference. As I just installed it via steam (and for the first time ever, it just worked lol, usually installing via steam is an exercise in futility) Anyone else made it work in 4K without tiny windows? | Posted: 03 Oct 2021 07:38 PM PDT Hello All, I'm fairly new to this game, been playing for maybe the past month or so. I've noticed that my characters are starting to get stuck when zones load, I've had two lower levels, but now the one I've been maining is stuck as well. The connection always times out while loading in and the game gives an error message and then crashes. I opened a ticket the other day with no response. I recently used the coupon code that gives me all the quest packs, so will this disable the four free areas thing. | Is warden even remotely viable without masteries? Posted: 03 Oct 2021 05:54 AM PDT This is the fourth time I start a warden, and every time I reach the point where masteries are available, I almost instantly regret starting a new warden :-D For me the main selling point of warden originally was the relatively few keybinds required, and the fact that I don't have to watch/remember/"feel" any cooldowns during a normal rotation. Masteries change that, and also add a lot of complexity, which is probably the main selling point for a lot of wardens, so that is fine, but personally I hate them. I understand that without masteries you will never reach the optimal performance - my question is: how bad a performance dip is it for a casual DPS warden to use them only sparingly? I don't care for high tier raids/instances really, but wouldn't want to gimp my groups in lower tier content either. [link] [comments] |
