Posted: 26 Sep 2021 12:25 PM PDT It is not the first time that I rant about this so please forgive me but I felt the need to share this with you guys. I play many MMO's like ESO, SWTOR and WOW to name a few but I always come back to LOTRO and the main reason is you guys. With all of its imperfections, I strongly believe that LOTRO has the best community when it comes to MMO's Seeing how 'veterans' helps this new wave of new players since the beginning of the '' fall promotion'' only reinforced this thought. We might not be the biggest community out there but we're a closed-knitted one. Always there for each other, ready to help one and another. And if you want my opinion that %#&#* worth celebrating. So cheers to you guys and welcome to our newest members! Buckle up for an amazing adventure and to meet new friends along the way. I love you guys! ❤ [link] [comments]

Anyone here not a fan of weapon swaps to be competitive? Posted: 26 Sep 2021 10:09 AM PDT Fairly new player, decided to play warden cause I love spear and shield. But when I look at end game stuff there's almost no Spears being used and like 3 weapon swaps. Checking out any other class or parse video the character is constantly swapping weapons mid combat, I find it very unimmersive. Is there any way to play without weapon swaps that won't severely hinder you? I'd love to get to end game and do raids and stuff, but if I have to learn weapon swaps or can't use a spear I just don't know anymore. Anyone else find weapon swaps stupid or unimmersive? Has anyone traced out the fellowship and subsequent party's exact routes on lotro maps? Posted: 26 Sep 2021 12:49 PM PDT Any of the routes that any of the characters/party's took. Specifically on the new lotro maps. If someone has done all of them, that would be amazing. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Sep 2021 04:50 PM PDT Would a Beorning or Cappy work better with a Champ for instances? The plan is to duo with a Champ starting with level 50 characters. We plan to mostly do skirmishes, missions and instances. Would like to stay with a melee heavy armor class. In my experience Beorning is stronger soloer and healer. But Captain has a reputation of being very strong in a group. Whichever class you pick, what trait tree would you suggest to best complement the Champ? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]

Is there a UI solution for high resolution monitors? Posted: 26 Sep 2021 01:01 PM PDT Hi everyone, wanting to give this a shot but the UI is killing my eyes. Anyone know of a mod to scale the UI with 1440p or 4k monitor? Thank you! [link] [comments]

Is there a way to view content (questpacks/expansion) an account has purchased? Posted: 26 Sep 2021 06:40 PM PDT In the store I see the Mirkwood quest pack:
I always assumed the way the store was set up things you already had wouldn't show up, so this confuses me? Is there a way to get a full list of the content you own other than the store purchase history? I did check the purchase history and saw that I did buy it previously so buying it again would have been a waste. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Sep 2021 11:44 PM PDT choosing a race for a mini. when you use shout skills how often do races shout some spoken line like the dwarfish "baruk khazad"? is it rare, or almost always for a certain skill? which races do use those? as far as i understand it's all elves and all dwarves. New Lotro Players: what are Lotro Points and how to farm them in-game. Posted: 26 Sep 2021 05:40 AM PDT Because the influx of new players (that is much welcome), and the confusing about the terminology and gameplay and the lotro store, I think is necessary to post this here with links to relevant content to give a better understanding: Lotro Points (LP) is the main source with what buy things in-game, aside from real money, of course. In many cases, you will have to collect/buy LP in order to adquire perks, like premium wallet, remove gold cap, buying previous expansions and more. So, if your goal/reality is that you can't spend real money, you can always farm LP. Here is how: - What is lotro points: https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/LOTRO_Point - Now, completing deeds in-game is the main source of LP, each zone of the map, have a specific amount of deeds available, here a list of them, with the total amount of LP you get completing each and all the deeds for said zone: https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Acquiring_LOTRO_Points_from_Deeds - Basically, the strategy is to create a char, do some deeds following a guide, delete the char and create a new char, repeat the drill, and so on, until you have collected trhe amount of LP you set up as a goal. Is important to note that you don't need to do all deeds in each starter zone, that is why is way better to follow a guide to maximize time: This guide is for 95 LP in 40/50 minutes (the first try will take you longer, of course because the learning curve): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaKoloEu2Tc This another guide is for 235 LP in 2,5 hours: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGoIZW4Uq7E Although it can be grindy, honestly, playing each day with a new char that will be deleted to farm 95 LP, will mean you need to do this cycle 9 times to be able to buy the 8 Expansions Quests available right now for 99 LP. Kudos. [link] [comments]
For New Lotro Players: To download the Steam or Lotro Official version of the game? Posted: 26 Sep 2021 07:27 AM PDT To new players, in order to give some advice because I know it can be confusing at times: - Versions: you can download the version from the Lotro Official Site or the Steam version, while many players don't like the Steam version because it had some problems in the past, and even now it can refusing to open the Lotro Store in-game and direct you to a web browser, this very same thing can come handy if you try to spend some money and the credit card you own is not working/accepted in your Lotro Store, which can happen when playing with the Official non Steam version. Now, is important to clarify that the Steam version comes with the Non Steam version included, so installing that way allows you to have both versions at the same time. The only thing you need to change to open the game via Steam or via the Official way, after you install the game via Steam, is to localise the Lotro Launcher.exe inside the Steam Lotro Installation Folder, create a shorcut to your desktop and you will have now the two versions available. Aside for the way you open the game, THERE IS NOT DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER between both versions. You can chose then to open the game using the .exe that Steam left on your desktop, or the one you put manually. For some players, the only way to be able to buy Lotro Points or anything that requires real money, is using the Steam Wallet (I have done myself after trying with the Non Steam version rejecting my payment). Kudos. Clarification: the payment issue for some players happens because the company that handle the transactions for Lotro is Xsolla, and they sometimes refuse to work with some cards, Steam is much more flexible in that regard, so, using the Steam Wallet is a solution where we use an intermediary between our credit card and Xsolla. Treebeard - How long to reach level 50 for a new LOTRO player? Posted: 26 Sep 2021 03:55 AM PDT How long does it take to reach level 50 on Treebeard with its 60% reduction in XP gains? I know it depends greatly on the difficulty level, play style, player knowledge etc. so I'm asking from the perspective of someone new to LOTRO, though not MMOs. I'm attracted to Treebeard's slow content progression and higher difficulty options - I want an engaging challenge and to enjoy a slow journey with players around my level - but I don't want to sign up for a grind every six months. I'm hoping those of you who are more experienced can tell me whether I'm in the ballpark at 50, 100, 200+ hours. Thanks! [link] [comments]
How to get my old character name don't have access to my old character? Posted: 26 Sep 2021 02:42 AM PDT OK I know the title is confusing, but I made a trial or f2p account many many years ago. I login on what I thought was the same account. Now, I know the game is 15 years old, but I always only used this mail. What shall we do? Problem is i really use that name in all games, so what to do? [link] [comments] |
