Posted: 09 Aug 2021 01:30 AM PDT Mae Govannen mellon nin (and well met indeed)! With the new legendary servers, some of us have returned to Middle Earth, created a new alt to enjoy the new difficulty system and the pleasure of tasting the very beginnings of the game. Nevertheless, with years passing the game has well changed since Shadows of Angmar and some of the guides that we can find on the Internet are somewhat outdated. Therefore, I wanted to make a quick overview of each class and each spec, summarizing their strengths and flaws and what a new player can expect from them. A quick reminder before discussing the first class: My main is a warden and if I played every class, I am not as proficient with some of them as I am with my warden. That is to say that this guide will not be a raid tutorial neither a guide for optimizing your character. I want it to be more lore friendly, explaining what each class and spec can offer and what we should basically expect when playing them. If you have reviews and opinions on the matter, feel free to add it, it will help greatly. So, without further ado, lets gets started with the first class: The Burglar Processing img 3wp8xf5pypf71... Inspired by Bilbo Baggins himself, the class can be played the race of Men, Hobbits and Stout-axe Dwarves. The burglar is at first sight the typical rogue stealthy class, using daggers and leather armor to quickly defeat his opponents. Nevertheless, burglars are far more than the classic DPS class and have a variety of tools at their disposition useful in landscape content and in instance, making them one of the best debuffers of the game in group content. Lore: Burglars exist in most of Middle Earth settlements and civilizations. From petty bandits of Breeland to deadly scouts in the scorched lands of Mordor, there is always need of subtlety and secret. Some races are not too fond to use such tricks as is the case of the honor based Longbeards or the elusive Elves. Burglars are common in Mannish cultures with many bandits, thieves, or scouts. The former Stout Axe slaves have been compelled to use secrecy in their thrall imposed by Sauron. As of Hobbits, if Bilbo Baggins is the most famous burglar ever, there are some who can be stealthy and silent at will and are clever enough to trick the enemy as they wish Gameplay: Burglars are known to possess the Dual Wielding ability, allowing them to use two one handed weapons at once. Of course, dagger will be the most used in most of the builds. Burglars have medium armor but can be easily overwhelmed if they are against multiple enemies. Therefore, the goal of the burglar in landscape content will be to quickly end his opponent without going into fights against too many enemies. It is easy to sneak into enemy camps and kill the leader, fulfilling the quest objectives. There are however several ways to play a burglar, notably with the specs at our disposal. Blue line: The Gambler, this one uses the gambling mechanic. It enables the use of disabling and debuffing attacks and most importantly DoTs (long term damage attacks). The Gambler can last longer than the other types of Burglars and is more polyvalent which, as always comes with a price. Red line: The Quiet Knife, the executioner. It is the pure DPS spec, attacking from behind and using critical strike. It is very useful against signature enemies but lacks consistency against multiple enemies or too long fights. Opening attacks are the most important part of the fight. Yellow line: The Mischief Maker, maybe the trickiest one of all. They are not DPS per se but represent more the Debuffer aspect of the Burglar. As a debuffer, the Mischief Maker is a support, reducing and slowing enemy attacks and reinforcing allied ones. They are very useful in groups thanks to these abilities. Well, that's it for the first class ! I will be covering the Captain for the next one, so feel free to comment! A humble request to the Lotro community Posted: 08 Aug 2021 05:59 AM PDT Mae govannen Lotro community, My name is Aleksander, and I am the creator behind the YouTube channel "Lore of the Rings" (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxoxXCaHRY5z0K3hhkxDxNg) I am hoping to integrate these clips into my videos. I am looking for someone that has the possibility to record these clips in 4K 30FPS 45mbps. You don't need very good hardware to record in 4K, and you don't need a 4K monitor either. My old computer from 2014 has recorded in this configurations with no problems; all that is needed is a little tweak that takes less than 5 minutes: https://stormystudio.com/record-4k-hd-monitor/ I know I am asking much, but if there's anyone out there willing to aid a lotr nerd, I would be incredibly grateful. You can get in touch with me on Discord: Lore of the Rings#3521 or comment down below. [link] [comments]
Returning player - Yellow Guardian or Yellow Champion? Posted: 09 Aug 2021 12:45 AM PDT Hey all, I'm a returning player to LotRO and haven't played for roughly two years. I'm looking at rolling a melee DPS toon (either Yellow Guardian or Yellow Champion) and slowly level via PvE landscape content and the occasional Instance (Great Barrow, Fornost etc). I have VIP, too. My question is pretty much what do you all think I should roll? Is either class more fun? What is the current state of Guard and Champ? I'm not looking to min-max, weapon swap etc as I'm a casual player and happy to have lower DPS if I roll a Guard if it's a more fun class. Also not into endgame stuff, raids, dailies etc (the highest level I've ever achieved since I started playing in 2012 is 60). Any help or input would be appreciated. Thanks and have a great day :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Aug 2021 02:15 AM PDT Do not confuse about other classes. I speak about Guardian specifi Indeed --, I am not trying to undermine anyone else. These type of runs can be quite thrilling and spectacular especially related to older content. I am glad I managed finally Zaudru was always a nightmare with a sheer number of her Brood ,but curse has been broken finally. I have not seen Guardian as low as 51 completing it ever before. This is just purely related to that particular class. There are moments when I stood for at long place soaking up enormous amount of damage and pulling up large group of enemies. Tis the only wing I never finished alone and now with it At last an Entire Helegrod Saga is complted in whole as an 50/51 High Female Elf Guardian. Insane amount of mobs , can be quite tedious. Easily overwhelming. Do not underestimate. Durability Level: Silmaril. Posted: 08 Aug 2021 07:18 AM PDT Just feels strange to me is all. The lessons and world of Tolkien are so wholesome that it really catches me off guard when someone named Frodo_Baggins is saying the "r" word and insulting people for being sensitive. I guess some MMO fans are only into it for the gameplay and are compelled to dump their real-world ignorant baggage everywhere. Bums me out sometimes. [link] [comments]
What's the point of LM or Captain of you can have a Champion. Posted: 08 Aug 2021 07:34 PM PDT A bit disappointing. Have a 93LM and have a 87 Captain. Major issues finding groups and soloing. Also have a 97 Champion and no issue soloing or finding groups. What gives? Seems Hunters and Champions are all I see. Give some love to other classes. LM and Captain should be important and able to solo/group. [link] [comments]
what should i keep and what should i sell from my bags and loots? Posted: 08 Aug 2021 04:48 AM PDT fairly new player here and my bags are filling up, i have become a VIP so i have loads of space but i'm not sure what to sell and what to keep out of things like : - furs and skins - weapons that i have outlevelled and am not using - random broken daggers etc any thoughts on organising my vault and bags would be helpful just wondering how ppl work this to benefit from it later. i j don't want to sell something v valuable without realising then grinding to get it later :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Aug 2021 01:28 PM PDT Hi everyone, I am posting on a behalf of my good friend who plays on Landroval. He is the only Guardian at level 51 who managed to solo-kill Thaurlach at the last phase. For now. He did it despite his major respiratory health issues and the odds that worked against him, which makes it even more impressive. Please note all of the following had to be done, otherwise Glatheriel gets on very low HP. He did three phases before it, including levers and Ever-seer but since Balrog kills the elf fast or she gets on extremely low HP, it makes it impossible to finish and pointless to attempt anything from very start, and Guardian class is unable to heal other players or NPCs. The only solution was to start from actual final phase. He had a lot of luck on the disease part, but Balrog used it FOUR times on him. Overall he is incredibly satisfied that he managed to withstand all what he threw at him, and I do not believe any other Guardian did it as low as 51, which makes this the first successful 51 Guardian triumph. He grinded long and worked hard to reach this phase and it is finally finished. He used a lot of other buffs that were needed as well. He did the 1st phase, entire Lever phase and Ever-seer kill legit as well, since this is not included in video, but due to nature of Balrog and Guardian's inability to heal and rest, he decided to save time and pointless attempts and went straight from the last phase. The fight starts instantly from moment Cogs, levers in Ever-seeer's room were removed and other player left immediately leaving Formennya to deal with the Ancient threat. I hope you can enjoy the video provided. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4bHxR6JnoQ TIMESTAMPS: REAL FIGHT STARTS FROM 1:59:28 - SKIP Noldo vs Balrog of Morgoth Full Video Moment of Triumph: 2:13:46 Special thanks to Nestamiel, Formennya of Landroval {51} Thank you. P.S. We apologize for lower quality Twitch stream at start and overall [link] [comments] |
