    New player LFG, let's roll!

    Posted: 19 Mar 2021 06:45 PM PDT

I'm going to keep this short as I expect no attention. Having said that I'm planning on downloading the game tomorrow and playing. I'd love someone to play with. Casually.

I'm EST. Please drop your discord if interested!

New region in HD for those who have not explored in detail. When I recorded "Walk Through Bree-Land" there was no such region, so, stay there with this beautiful video, I hope you like it. <3

Champion or Captain for soloing fellowship quests, 3-man dungeons, etcetera?

    Posted: 19 Mar 2021 07:53 PM PDT

I'm a big LotR fan getting into LotRO for the first time. I play at odd hours of the day when fewer people are online, and besides that, I like being self-sufficient and able to do stuff on my own if possible, without needing to beg others for help. Even if it takes much longer to do it. Kill speed isn't really a concern of mine.

How do Champion and Captain compare when they walk into a room full of elite mobs? I know Yellow Captains are the best tanks in the game currently, but I don't know much about Blue Champions and how good they are in harder solo content.

For all peeps like me: Quest packs are 20% off now!

    Posted: 19 Mar 2021 03:35 PM PDT

Which also makes me wonder: Is it worth waiting til April for the birthday discount or is it usually the same discount?

I'm hitting the wall now with my mid lvl 30 characters atm and thinking really hard whether to wait another couple weeks or buy it now.

    What's your opinion?

    • Only if full healer is already covered
    • not worth to take a place, there is always something better
    • Yay finally someone showing up with this
    • ...

    thank you

    [Kinship Recruitment] Deephallow Brewers, Arkenstone

    Posted: 19 Mar 2021 09:40 AM PDT

Hail, and well met! Deephallow Brewers is a 14-year-old kinship on Arkenstone currently recruiting new players for raid progression.

    • Progression-wise we are currently working on T3 content for Remm and AD
    • We run the new u29 three mans, all tiers of stairs, and the rest of the typical mm cluster as well
    • We have a 200+ member Discord with both active members and Arkenstone players we have teamed with
    • Our raiding time is usually between 9:45pm-12am server time on any given day. Monday through Thursday are our most attended days, but also conduct some raids on Sunday nights
    • Our highest priority right now is WARDEN, BURGLAR, and LORE-MASTER, but we are open for all classes to join
    • Our joining process is simple, just contact one of our officers and do a 2-week "Recruit" period - this way you can try out the kin obligation-free and decide if it's a fit for you

In-game send a tell to Rynoc or Meriband, or join our Discord and ping the officers in general chat https://discord.gg/U8qb2Qp

Hope to see you in-game! We celebrate our 14th anniversary April 8, 2021! Come join us!

Is the game running normal for you? Since the update my game probably crashed 3 times more than usual.

    Intimidated by fellowship stuff

    Posted: 19 Mar 2021 04:35 AM PDT

    Hey, guys -

I'm a returning player on Evernight, looking for a bit of advice.

I played LOTRO about 10 years ago and never did any fellowship stuff because the idea just seemed intimidating.

    The problem?

There's usually so much going on that I can't understand what's happening/what I should be looking at.

I understand the basic principles (e.g don't stand in the fire, make a mob sandwich if I'm a Guard etc.) but I'm really worried about execution.

I'm a really uncoordinated human IRL... Which kind of translates into gameplay, I think.

Is there any hope for me?

Maybe a new player guide that includes keyboard shortcuts I should know about? (Besides skills/attacks)

(Seriously, how does one attack stuff AND have a full blown conversation in the chat?!)

    Party/group content oriented class

    Posted: 19 Mar 2021 05:55 AM PDT

    Hello everyone,

I'm a new player, I am having a long period of holidays upcoming and I would like to invest some time in LotRO. I know nothing about the game besides that it has an amazing community.

I would like to know and have some guidance about classes. I usually play support/healer/debuffer classes that focus on utility and support/healing. Once my holidays are over of course, I will have some less time to play so I would like to take into account how sought-for are classes in group content.

Anyone willing to enlighten me with their two cents about this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Mac not working after patch

    Posted: 19 Mar 2021 08:14 AM PDT

I been playing LOTRO on my crappy MacBook (I know, I am saving to build a real PC. Donantions apperciated but not required šŸ˜‚ ...jk) but since the patch I been having a hard time running the game. I run it on Mojave because it has been running better on that than other MAC OS. (Though I know Mojave is already behind). But my point is since I patched it doesn't want to launch.

I have tried repairing the files. And a full reinstall. But is anyone else having issues? The 32 bit client runs but it also crashes a lot. I don't know if there's a good solution.

I just want to play my game. It's my main health coping mechanism for my mental illness and balancing out my real life.

Update: I got my Mac to run boot camp and install windows 10. The game is currently installing. So I hope this is going to fix all my issues. I want to start raising so I need my game to be reliable.

    Deleting Reddit Account

Hey all... Sadly, I've decided to delete this Reddit account and this character due to the fact that anything I post on here is being used on phishing websites. Thanks to everyone for being so supportive of my screenshots and all the nice comments I've received.... but I can't deal with the stress and wondering when it will happen again. No social media for me from now on... jeesh... In case you missed my previous call for help, please see the screenshot for some of the websites so that you don't end up clicking on them, thinking it's a Fudgekins site... Also to the person who offered to come to play a song or two with me (Thea in-game, I think) I'm so sorry, I will try to contact you again when I have my new character. Before deleting Fudgekins, I"ll just quickly take note of your in-game name on Gladden xD Thanks for being so nice and sharing the info about the music system.
