    I am really in the mood of returning to LOTRO after a decade and I remember my account got banned for something really stupid. This at the time where I believe codemasters were the owners? I only have a receipt of my latest purchase back in the day, where can I submit a request to find out what my username and account is based on a receipt number?

    Crickhollow down?

    About half an hour ago I got booted from Crickhollow and now when I try to get in the server it gives the "attempting to log in x of 20". I can get into Arkenstone and such fine. Anyone else experiencing it?

    Looking for community input.

    Hello to all the heroes of Middle Earth.

    I was wondering for a while if you guys usually look for LOTRO streamers and if so, what content you like to watch on it.

    Thing is, I already stream a different game and I am very happy with how it has been going, but LOTRO is my favorite game, so I want at least explore the opportunity of playing it once in a while.

    In my opinion, LOTRO is something that's amazing to explore and live for yourself, but it's really hard to make engaging content from.

    Any advices and opinions are more than welcome!

    Started my LOTRO adventure late last night

    I bought LoTR extended and The Hobbit extended editions yesterday. I started watching Fellowship and got the itch to explore more of Middle Earth. I ended up starting my LOTRO adventure last night for the first time, officially. I've tried this game a few times in the past, and by tried I mean play for maybe 10 minutes and quit/uninstall. I've hit a wall, games haven't kept me intrigued lately. Classic WoW is fun but I need a break from it for a little bit.

    I'm thinking of either playing a Champion or a Captain. The starting zone has been surprisingly fun, and the Bree-land is absolutely gorgeous. It gets me excited to see parts from the movies/books be brought to life in the game. I've heard the big draw to this game was the quests and how the world is fairly accurate to the movies/books. I ended up getting VIP for the month and spend the points on the expansions that were on sale for 99.

    How is the community towards new players? Usually I have a hard time finding a guild to mesh with or that will talk to each other. Currently I have a character on Arkenstone and Brandywine as they seem to have people on when I play later at night. What is my best bet to find a guild? Forums, in game, or on here? I'm not looking for a people to play the game for me or anything like that, I just want to geek out at times lol.

    I'm glad to give this a chance, I'm actually excited to see more of Middle Earth.

    I want to play a class that's needed. I've tried both to 10 so far guardian seems unkillable and quite good damage. On the other hand minstrel super squishy and moment its 2 mobs gets risky. Does minstrel get stronger dps wise Later?

    Possibly a PSA - log in once on any character name you wish to keep

    I learned today that people who made a character on the PVP server can move that name for free to the regular servers.
    I also learned that there are problems with the transfers from the PVP event server. The naming policy doesn't work the way it should, the users from Bombadil state.
    Apparently, their free transfers off Bombadil can be used to displace a name if that name was logged off for a year. Currently they say it's not working as it should.

    Users on the LOTRO forums suspect this means any name not logged in for a year. You can't simply log on your account and play other characters but need to log in each name once if you wish to retain a name.

    This has not been an issue since server merges.

    I know many will not be affected but some players have several pages of characters since the server merges.
    At least for me, a few have sentimental value. The rest I don't really care if they end up named CharacterName-1 instead.

    Personally I think the date last logged in is what might not work and that these names are simply not available to use by the PVP event server players.

    In any case, they're looking for a fix and probably sooner than later.

    I logged on the few of my unplayed characters today and some of you may wish to do the same. In the unlikely event one of them has named their character the same, I get to retain good ol' Snugglebunnies Snugglebunnysson, Father of Snugglebunnsies with his bog-lurker Snugglebunny. (No, Snugglebunnies are not recruiting this year either, sorry.)

    This guys map looks so much better than the default, he has 1 massive bag, and a few more visibly different things.

    What plugins does this guy use, and what other plugins are worth getting (for a newish player)!

    Siege of Mirkwood missing from account

    I've been playing LOTRO for several years now but I take extended breaks, come back after a while and catch up on content. I'm 99.9% certain I purchased Siege of Mirkwood a long time ago but it isn't showing up on my SSG/LOTRO account history. The Mirkwood expansion quest pack is also the only quest pack currently available for me to purchase on the LOTRO store (I'm currently level 94 and working my way through the Helm's Deep content that I recently purchased).

    I've just done a deed check on my character and he has completed 16 Mirkwood deeds, including the beginner, intermediate and advanced stages of the quest completion deed suggesting that I have, in fact, purchased the expansion at some point...

    Any idea why SoM is not showing up on my account?

    Screenshots getting a bit much

    Can we tone it down a bit? For example, just saw one guy has made 11+ separate posts over two days with screenshots all getting tons of upvotes on each, and that's not counting all the others.

    Most subreddits have restrictions on this stuff, like only at weekends and limits per person. They get very easy upvotes and make people less likely to post any conversation topics as they'll get pushed down to the bottom of the page past all the pictures.

    Forgive me if this was covered in a New Player Guide; I checked the main post and couldn't find anything on the subject.

    I built two characters on Evernight, but chose the server purely on the name. I've got a friend considering jumping into the game as a newbie. What server should he choose? And I'm sure I've heard that it's possible to move characters from one server to another. How do I do that?
