Lord of the Rings Online | Knight-Errant of Pinnath Gelin |
- Knight-Errant of Pinnath Gelin
- Stumbled upon LOTRO because of quarantine back in April. It so happened as well that there was a free questing period. Long story short, I’m hooked and finally, the ring is destroyed. Now, new adventures in Middle-Earth await. So much love for the game.
- Just started and loving it, but a few questions.
- Potential "new player" question, sale going on?
- Guardian secondary (dps) gear set
- NO darling, not the SWORD!
- High-Elf/Hunter Question About Light Damage

Just started and loving it, but a few questions. Posted: 14 Aug 2020 08:08 PM PDT As a big Tolkien fan in general what I'm looking forward to are the quests/lore of the game. Being able to travel and admire the beautiful landscape is great too. It doesn't seem like I won't have a shortage of these and I won't mind the occasional "bring x amount of items" type of quest every now and then. I just want to be immersed in the story and I think I will! But I have a few questions/observations. -I'm a level 9 Elf minstrel so far and I have to admit that the prologue area where I had to do stuff Dwalin was fun. The combat was pretty comfortable and I didn't struggle that much. But oh boy, while the new area looks fantastic, I find myself dying too easily just dealing with monsters around my level and doing even the most basics of quests and I find it embarrassing. -Did I pick the wrong class and race? What I want to get out the most in this game is to experience the quests and explore Arda as a solo player, but I'm gonna have a hard time immersing myself If I keep dying every other quest. Should I look to pick a different class instead? I also didn't expect that Minstrel to have so many spells. I come from Runescape and I was just a quester so I'm more used to let auto attack doing the work while casting spells every few seconds or so. Or did I make my rotations more complicated than it needs to be? It seems that every monster I deal with I have to cycle between 6-9 different keys, which might not be a problem for most people, but as a really casual gamer, it's a struggle for me. I won't mind having to start over because I've only spent around 2-3 hours at most and most of that was running around and being lost. -Will I need to spend additional money on traits? The game kept bugging me about something to do with that but I just dismissed it because it sent me to the LOTRO store. The only things I've purchased so far are the 99 LP deals and the free quests pack. -I got a rental horse but I think it will only last me for 24 hours. Will I be able to purchase a real one soon? How long is the grind? And finally, I'm playing at Arkenstone right now and I love interacting with the random people I meet with and having a conversation with them. It's a shame that I can't talk in the world chat right now but I'm really looking forward to playing this game and being involved in the community more even if I prefer to play solo and focus on quests. Even if I have to die every other quest or so or have to kite enemies. I don't see myself dropping this game because of my love for the world of Tolkien in general and seeing all the places I've read about appear in front of me. It's just breathtaking despite the graphics looking a bit aged. Can't wait to see the likes of Rivendell and hopefully involved in battles like Helm's Deep. Thanks all! Would also appreciate random tips as well. [link] [comments]
Potential "new player" question, sale going on? Posted: 14 Aug 2020 07:21 PM PDT Are all of the expansions on sale now? I read somewhere that I can get everything for like 7 dollars. If so I'd gladly spend some money. I already redeemed the "Free quest packs". What else do I need to take advantage of right now during this "sale"? [link] [comments]
Guardian secondary (dps) gear set Posted: 14 Aug 2020 12:41 PM PDT Guards who actually can talk someone into letting them come along when not tanking (because the Captains do it): what stats do you prefer for your off-set? Do Keen Blades prefer stacking physical mastery, or crit rating? I'm realistic enough to know that I'll never be allowed along on a raid as DPS. In fact, I'll probably never be allowed along on a raid or T3 run, ever. I'm just looking to make daily life as least anguishing as possible. [link] [comments]

High-Elf/Hunter Question About Light Damage Posted: 14 Aug 2020 04:12 AM PDT Does the Light Damage buff for High Elves proc when using light oils on a Hunter class? Or are light oils considered a separate damage class/source? [link] [comments] |
