Question About Closed Server Transfers Posted: 19 Aug 2020 05:23 PM PDT Hey free peoples, I'm looking at returning to lotro after hiatus of MANY years. All my toons were on the now closed Vilya server. I see that world transfers are currently down for some kind of maintenance, but it looks like that's been going on since last week. Is it pretty typical for transfers (or maintenance in general) to be down for that long? I also found a post on a lotro/standingstone page that mentioned transfers from closed servers is not possible even if the transfer system was up. Is that true? I had found some reddit posts from 2019 mentioning that closes server transfers were possible...so which information is outdated? I'm guessing this sub wouldn't know when world transfers will be back in business, but hoping for general info on them... particularly for transferring from a closed server. Would hate to have to start from scratch again. Cheers! [link] [comments]
Is there a setting to increase the font size of the chat box text? I can’t find one Posted: 19 Aug 2020 07:33 PM PDT If so can you tell me roughly where? I couldn't find it with the other UI settings [link] [comments]

New player leveling experience? Posted: 19 Aug 2020 10:40 AM PDT Hello all! So my friends and I have been looking for something to occupy our time while we wait for some other games to release. I half-jokingly mentioned LotRO since I played it forever ago and there was enough traction that now we're thinking about it. I'm wondering what the new player experience is like. I know the tutorial/starter area is going to be a bit of a slog, we're all veteran MMO players. I saw another thread on here about leveling up with just the epic quest line, but I think I'm wondering more holistically what it's like for new players in terms of exploring the world and leveling up. We'd mostly just want a tour of Middle Earth, but if we're going to end up spending days and days just clearing quests in middle-of-nowhere I think we might lose interest pretty quickly. So I'd love some insight about how LotRO is for new players these days. Helpful tips/tricks, smart things to purchase with whatever Turbine points are called now, that sort of thing. A few questions as I prepare to join the game... Posted: 19 Aug 2020 07:16 PM PDT I have a few questions, as a curious player who honestly has enough of the garbage from WoW devs ( ie I am leaving the game )

Returning player, looking for any kinsmen! Posted: 19 Aug 2020 05:00 AM PDT Hey! I'm a returning player who started back in 2012! I played from then till about 2016 and than stopped playing. I wanted to wait to get a better computer because my old one was having a hard time. Anyway, I started playing again early this year and I wanted to try and find my old kinsmen from my old kinship ( if it's at all possible) haha! I was on the old server Firefoot (before it shut down) and was apart of a group who was called Quedsnose ( something like that?) they were a band of elves who travelled around and played in a band during special events. Some I can remember them playing at are Bilbos Celler ( Halloween event) and the Yul festival ( Christmas event) I was active on their forums until late 2016 and after not visiting their website for quite some time - I've discovered that it is now a spa website that is all in Japanese characters.. I'm sorry if this post is all over the place.. Lotro is fun on your own.. but when you have kinships to join, it just adds to the experience! Met a lot of friends, sadly lost touch! Thanks guys! Happy questing! [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Aug 2020 10:18 AM PDT I'm currently level 65, just finished Moria with a Level 59 3A Bow that is maxed to level 60. The legendary traders only give items to level 60 so not sure how to get higher level LI's I had a 2A Lvl 57 Bow drop and thought it might provide more DPS than the 3A at first, but fell short. ALso what do you do with excess Rusted dwarf tools etc? I've been spending them on relics and melding them. Is that the way to go? [link] [comments]
Old turbine user having trouble getting into account manager Posted: 19 Aug 2020 03:39 PM PDT As it says above, I checked my email and found 3 usernames i had with turbine. upon resetting the passwords however, it won't let me log in, and i can't find anywhere this is talked about on the Standing Stones website. anyone have any ideas? Posted: 19 Aug 2020 01:22 PM PDT So this has probably been asked a good few times so I apologise if its frustrating anyone. I like both wow classic and Lotro. I'm a big lore person and also really enjoy social aspect. Played wow since day one but love Lord of the rings. I want to experience every aspect of the story. Side quests too and also every dungeon and raid. Is that possible for someone like me. By someone like me I mean a parent who has 3 hours a night to spend playing a game. I don't care how long it takes I jusy want to make sure I have fun and meet good people as I go along. [link] [comments]
Crash when changing display settings (32 & 64bit) Posted: 19 Aug 2020 09:14 AM PDT Never had this problem before. I've even re-installed LOTRO completely and still same results. [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Aug 2020 07:46 AM PDT I should have probably googled this but I figured I'd ask. With the ring destroyed in game now, what is the plot? [link] [comments]

Is the Samwise Gamgee pack worth it for someone who already has a premium account? Posted: 19 Aug 2020 02:55 AM PDT I bought 600 LP when I first started playing last week and used all of it to purchase the expansions which brought my account up to premium but I read from somewhere that the "Samwise Gamgee" pack is available on Amazon and includes these benefits. Bay Steed & Riding Skill 4th Inventory Bag Currency Cap I almost have 99 LP as a lvl 13 just from doing the deeds and I'm not even done with the intro quests yet. I was planning to use the LP for the riding skill and spending 500 silver to get the slightly faster horse. Bay Steed & Riding Skill 4th Inventory Bag Currency Cap From what I understand, the only thing I'll be getting from this pack is the 4th inventory bag and currency cap? I was also already under the impression that the curency cap has already been lifted for me due to purchasing the LP from the store. I'm not really that interested in managing and grinding different accounts. I care more for the quests and exploring the world as a solo player. Thanks all! [link] [comments]
Returning player, unable to log in. Posted: 19 Aug 2020 07:17 AM PDT Hi friends old and new. Getting a new one today. "Failed to read autentication response [err: unexpected end of file][line:1] [Col:1] Which I suppose is a step better, than yesterday. Could barely connect, or it would do the run down ie. connecting 1-20 times. If I could get in, I'd stagger around like a drunk mime in just one place. Thanks for any help. btw, program is allowed through firewall. [link] [comments]
Boosted lorrmaster very weak in mordor Posted: 19 Aug 2020 02:22 AM PDT I recently used the Aria of the valor you get with the Mordor expansion and boosted a loremaster to 105. I got some level100 first age weapons crafted but I am yet to imbue them I'm really struggling in udun. I can handle 2-3 mobs okay but anything more and I'm toast especially if I pull one of the signature trolls/overseers Is this normal for Mordor? I've only played up to level 75 before (I have a level 75 loremaster who I have no problems on) [link] [comments] |
