Best class to ignore LI grind

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 12:18 AM PDT

Long story short, after reading through the trilogy again after more than 2 decades, I want to enjoy the world building / stories of lotro (never got past 80 or so).

I will do epics/landscapes, some skirmishes maybe.

I won't participate in any endgame group activities/dailies

My question is : which class suffers the less for completely ignoring the LIs ? I will do NO CRAFTING and plan on using quest rewards to equip myself.

    Thanks in advance

    Looking for Kin on Arkenstone

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 03:56 PM PDT

Well, i was looking on the original forums and it seems pretty dead for the server sections, so ill just ask on here. Just started the game yesterday and I'm looking for a group of people that are noob friendly. Really want to get far into the game but I've had a lot of questions but I can't talk in World chat yet. I'm currently a Lvl 12 Captain and I'm also 26 years old just in case the guild is 18+.

Thanks and I look forwards to meeting some cool people :D

    How to reach Echtelion tower?

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 11:56 PM PDT

    Hi.
Minas Tirith is kinda confusing. Got the quest to meet King Aragorn but didn't find a way to meet him at Echtelion tower. I traveled to "high stable" but again, no success in finding a way to the tower.

Aria of the Valar Missing Trait Points

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 10:02 PM PDT

Way back when mordor released I used my aria of the valar on a high elf champ. After coming back from a long break, I was looking at my traits and saw I only have 75 trait points. The aria is supposed to give you 75 when you use it and then 3 more from leveling up to 115, so I'm missing 3 points and I have no idea which ones they are or how to get them.

Any Brandywine Kins able to help a 130 hunter run t1 Remm just once? Would love to be able to just see the content and spend some of these embers saved up. Unfortunately I just don't have a ton of time to play anymore so trying my luck through some of my reddit friends.

    Minas Tirith

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 07:55 AM PDT

I bet the current quest packs promotion will become permanently free after August.

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 06:43 AM PDT

It seems to me that the current massive promotion is driving a lot of new- and returning players to the game.

If that is indeed true, then I think SSG will have the quest packs stay free for all, and the expansions/expansion quests reduced in price (even if slightly more expensive than the current 99LP).

Outside of these things the pricing model seems fair to me with the Free/Premium/VIP tiers - VIP gives a lot of benefits many of which stay for Premium as well.

The biggest benefit of being VIP was the questing areas being all unlocked.

With the promotion that aspect has been gone. But today's update brings new VIP benefits in universal town service access, accelerated crafting times and item wear reduction. These are pretty big quality-of-life improvements IMO, and might be introduced to offset the "loss" of the quest packs as VIP-only.

Big Battle screams - same as in the movie

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 08:47 AM PDT

Hi. I did a quick Google but didn't see any mention of this.

I'm currently re-watching the movie trilogy, and during the Battle of Minas Tirith, I heard a sequence of screams that sounds exactly like the screams that are looped throughout the Big Battles in the game. It happens as soon as the Rohirrim army crashes into the Orcs (third movie, around 2h 36m into Extended Edition).

It sounds as if the game is using the exact sound as the movie - minus the sound of horse hooves and other details.

My guess is that both movie and game used sound samples from the same sound bank and that this particular sound came as a group of sounds (3 or more screams in a sequence).

Does anyone have any information on this?

When I Change the UI Scale Size, It Becomes Blurry

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 12:17 PM PDT

    Hello,

I have a laptop which has 1366*768 resolution. I play the game at full screen with this resolution. I want to change the UI Scale to a lower setting such as 0.90 because it feels like big. But when I change it to any other size, the texts in quest tab and vitals looks blurry, like zoomed. Also the icons in the skill bar look blurry, too. Here's the screenshot, look at the full size picture to see the difference.

    0.90 | 1.00 | 1.10

I tried without a skin, with a skin as seen in the screenshots, tried to restart the game after changed the settings, none of them work. Is there any solution to see the texts and icons with no blur or do I have to play like that?

    New dude here

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 08:01 AM PDT

Hey guys so i heard about this old lotr themed mmo and I really wanna immerse myself in Tolkien's world but i heard there are many paywalls in this game and i heard the population right now isn't too good and you can hardly find people for group content. can someone honestly tell me if it is worth starting it in 2020?

I am just asking because I don't wanna invest in something that is not meant for new players as it seems to me from what I've seen so far that this company just keeps milking money out of old players.

I don't mean to insult old players or something like that, it just something doesn't feel right about this game.
