Comprehensive Quest Tracker Tool for Completioninsts!

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 02:39 AM PDT

    Hello everyone!

Tl;Dr: I've made a spreadsheet to track the completion of all quests in the game: LotRO Comprehensive Quest Tracker. It is still in progress but already has almost all from Eriador.

Who never asked himself/herself: 'I wonder if there are any other quests I haven't done yet in this city/area.' Followed by struggling to find that information on the wiki and try to look if you missed something.
NO MORE! Now not only can you track % of quests completed, but you can also list the quests not completed per Land, Region, or even per Start Location of the Quests!I'm quite sure there are a few completionists out there like me, who wants to explore all content this fantastic game has to offer. For that, I've created a tool that helps me track how well I have completed the quests in the game!

So, long story short: Welcome to the LotRO Comprehensive Quest Tracker (there's a lot of quests in this game, so it may take a while to load)

Disclaimer: This is still in progress, it has most quests in Eriador for now, more details in the bottom.

    How do you use it?

    1. Make a copy of the spreadsheet so that you can edit it.
    2. The first tab gives you an overview of your progress (If you don't have a large monitor, scroll to the side as there's a lot of data there)
    3. The second one is a list of all the quests in the game, click done for the ones you've completed.
    4. To see the list of quests you haven't completed, double click on the number of "not completed" in front of the land, region, or start area you want details of (On the table all the way in the right on the overview tab)
    5. Don't mess with the third tab, that makes the bar charts work.

There's a quest I've completed missing, what do I do?

    1. You can add it on the second tab all the way in the bottom to unblock yourself.
    2. See if the quest is listed in https://lotro-wiki.com/. All this data is pulled from there.
    3. Notify me that it is missing, and I'll make sure to fix it for the next version.

Note that this list of quests is automatically generated from a script that pulls data from the wiki, so if the quest is not in the wiki, it will not be in the spreadsheet.

    Known missing quests:

They are listed in the order I'll add them.

    1. Gondor
    2. Rhovanion
    3. Mordor
    4. Nan CurunΓr
    5. NPC: Rostelien quests (Angmar)
    6. Some from Dunland, Bruinen Gorges, Greenwood, Pren Gwydh, Hoardale

I'm always open to feedback on the tool, and I hope it helps other folks out there like it is helping me.

The skybox occasionally fails to load for me, and it just happened during the wedding instance.

New to LOTRO - LF KIN Arkenstone

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 09:29 PM PDT

    Hi LOTRO community,

Experienced MMO player here (EQ, WoW, FF14, Tera, Wildstar, SWTOR, etc.) but brand new to LOTRO--total noob. I decided to give Lotro a try with the intent of making/clearing end-game. I did a couple hours of research, got my UI set, expansions and points bought with 3 months VIP paid. I'm ready and eager to grind on wolves/boars/orcs and such while hiding from COVID-19-lol.

I'm looking for a guild that is welcoming to new players and still has the desire/infrastructure to remain active.

Hope to you see on Arkenstone.

    Best,

Pudgidor : Lvl 10 Captain, slayer of boars and drinker of beer.

    Mistake on the Wiki.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 06:36 PM PDT

On the Cook Master Recipe Index page on LOTRO-Wiki, it says the Blackberry Pie Filling ingredient needs 2 Bunches of Blackberries and 1 Cup of Fresh Cream.

    This is incorrect.

It needs 2 Bunches of Blackberries and 1 Drop of Honey.

Where to acquire the stout axe armor?

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 03:29 PM PDT

So I'm currently playing a stout axe burglar and absolutely loving it, but since I rolled a burglar I've only been able to get my hands on the medium armor set for the stout axe race, at the start of the game. I'm quite keen on the heavy armor stout axe set to be used as a cosmetic set, but do anyone know if you can actually get those pieces without rolling a new heavy armor stout axe class?

Should I bother going VIP while content is still free?

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 01:23 PM PDT

I've been VIP since I started playing years back, but only just back in a few days ago.

With stuff like mailboxes, the trait stuff, daily gifts, how noticeable are they when non-vip? Are mailboxes barren or plentiful? What other pieces am I missing?

Aria of the Valar - Legendary item question.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 02:05 PM PDT

    Hi.

I was bought the Minas Morgul fan bundle as a gift, rolled a Guardian, enjoying it very much thus far, but I have a question about the two Legendary Item first ages you are given.

I opened the first and took the belt no problem, it has all the legacies and runes in it etc, but I opened the weapon and it is devoid of any legacies and it doesn't even register in the legendary item menu, it is just called guardian hammer of the first age seemingly and has a golden icon.

There is no identifying it at the LI folk, nor is there an option to inbue, it just seems to function like a bog standard weapon.

Have I missed something, do weapons no longer have legacies, or have I maybe done something in the wrong order and got a glitch?

Cheers in advance, it is good to be back in middle earth.

Edit - Kindly answered by HidemasaFukuoka, problem solved :)

    Is this game still healty?

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 05:10 AM PDT

I never touched this game after the initial release but now after hearing about coupons for free quests and expansions at 99 cents I was tempted to install it again to enjoy all the stories I missed but rationally those moves seems like huge red flags about the future of this game. Is this game near closure or maintenance mode? Is it still decently populated? I heard about a new LotR MMORPG being developed so maybe that's the reason but I'm still uncomfortable for some reason.
