Some whacky theory i thought about when researching about the new secret quest Posted: 14 May 2020 05:20 PM PDT So i researched ancient evils in the lotro wiki because of the new secret quest line and boredom. So i read the article about borangos the horror, one of the last lords of Mordor left. So the last sentence of his article was quite interesting: "In truth he cares little for the sort of power sought by the others, but rather seeks some source of power under Orodruin which "drives" him." He is an ancient Rogmul, that was imprisoned underneath Nargroth in Mordor. And in the article about the Rogmul species it is stated: "Wherever a Balrog is or once was, it can be wagered that one or more Regmyl are not far away.". Also balrogs do like fire and hiding beneath mountains and areas. So what if somewhere under Talath urui a sleeping balrog is just waiting to be discovered. Or maybe there was one passing through the general area making his way to another hiding spot. But i feel it would fit mount doom, a fiery volcano to be the hiding spot of Balrog. Also the volcano was there before Sauron came to mordor which was in the second age think. And maybe one Balrog fled and hid the after the defeat of his lord Morgoth in the third age. And nobody knew about him for ages, also this would bring back the opportunity to fight another balrog, which would certainly be kinda cool. So this is my theory and i hope we find out more about borangos and maybe his chieftain. Although this may take till 2022+ because of gundabad. (About that im also really excited ) [link] [comments]

Problem lauching LOTRO from steam Posted: 14 May 2020 07:43 PM PDT First of all, new to reddit, so apologies if this isnt where i am allowed to put this! So my friends and i have decided to play LOTRO, i downloaded it and everything goes great. I click play and it launches the login section for LOTRO. However with my friend, when he clicks play, nothing happens. I have tried to troubleshoot it myself but i cant seem to figure it out. I do know that when i look at my LOTRO folder on my PC there is stuff in it. When he opens it, there is nothing. I thought it was a bad install, but this was his 3rd time installing the game over again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 May 2020 01:24 AM PDT Leveling up my 3rd alt, a LM (I already have 2 other level caps, a cappy and a hunter) I slowly slowly tried to do the epic battles and I hit a wall with Pelargir solo (expected in a way). I know this is probably the most difficult EB to solo at a lower level due to hard epic foes and endless mobs of corsairs who keep surrounding you. It's very difficult to solo that with my LM at lvl70+, no matter what I tried. The epic foes are too hard if you're not a tank. Also, the scaling up doesn't seem to work very well. So I put it aside for later. When were you able to solo Pelargir with a LM? Which line do you suggest works best for difficult instances like this one? [link] [comments]

Posted: 14 May 2020 02:02 PM PDT My main is a metalsmith and I am working on guild rep to be able to buy Minas Ithil recipes. As I understand, there is a quest that gives you guild rep, but you have to have at least Westemnet standing. My question is the most efficient way to farm guild rep with the crests. Are there certain ones I should avoid? Thanks. [link] [comments]

Posted: 14 May 2020 03:11 PM PDT After taking a break from LOTRO for a few months, I have decided to start playing again. For some reason, however, I am unable to open the game. Every time I try to launch it, it gets stuck at "patch dat files" 88% then crashes. How can I fix this problem? [link] [comments]
Paid for expansion bundle. No confirmation email, code, etc. Posted: 14 May 2020 05:45 PM PDT Hi there, I'm new to LOTRO and really enjoying my time so far. I decided to buy one of the ultimate fan bundles, and used PayPal to do so. I haven't gotten any confirmation email, order number, etc., other than my PayPal invoice. I've checked all email folders. I paid two hours ago. I have tried to type the invoice ID in the PayPal email beside DRI*SGG Order into the "find my order" website and it claims the code doesn't exist. I finally caved and send a support email to both Digital River and SSG. Is this.. Normal? How long does it typically take for a response to a ticket? [link] [comments]

8 year player, returning to new realm Posted: 14 May 2020 05:31 PM PDT Hello, I've created a new champion on Evernight in hopes that I can play some content with other players. My dwarf is named Bakhtin on Evernight. I'm CST US, but I've noticed that the auction house is pretty bare. I joined Evernight initially because I assumed it was more active than the other servers. Is this still true? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 May 2020 03:46 AM PDT I'm with a group of friends playing lotro for the first time, all old gaming vets and big tolkien fans. We'd avoided lotro fearing it may be a shameless cashin on tolkien but tbh having given it a shot we're all having a great time running around the shire, taking in the sights like bag end, brandywine bridge, crickhollow... Seeing these places brought to life in a faithful way has been both surprising and grand! What we'd love is to find some nice group contemt for our little fellowship. Theres no rush to level up, and no care about value of loot etc, we're here for the world. So we're all about level 13-15, what can we do as a group that would be a fun little adventure? Exploring the barrow downs or travelling into the old forest are our ideas but I thought it would be good to look for some guidance :) [link] [comments]
