    Most Lore Friendly Protagonist for LOTRO

    Hello everyone. I've played LOTRO on-and-off for a few years now and have a bad habit of stopping/starting characters, especially when I get out of the starting area and into the wider world.

    What would people generally consider a really good race/class combo for someone who would genuinely be on this quest?

    I tend to think a race that is directly invested in the downfall of Mordor is a good one. Bree folk and Hobbits tend not to look beyond their own boarders. Dwarves are great in LOTR but I don't see one really doing much questing outside of the Thorin's Hall and Moria quests. These examples omit members of the fellowship of course, who are supposed to be outside of their normal duties.

    What do you guys think? Sorry if you've already had a Hobbit's fill of these questions before.

    EDIT: Wow thanks for all the great responses everyone. I'm getting an overall feeling of human warden or hunter, originally from Bree but a close ally of the Aragorn and the Northern Rangers.

    Characters stuck in limbo?

    Just hoping for some confirmation...

    Haven't played in many years, pretty sure i was on Silverlode, have checked every server and my characters are nowhere to be found.

    I've come across information that transfers are down and have been for some time, so my characters are just stuck on a closed server and i cannot retrieve them?

    The Black Book

    I've just finished the Black Book story line and all I can say is man what a ride. It has been an incredible journey that has had multiple twists in ways I couldn't have imagined. It's hard to believe it is over, even if not everything in Mordor has been resolved. The ending was quite moving as well. I chose to give the book back to the dwarf because it seemed like the right thing to do, I guess time will tell. I look forward to seeing what else SSG has for us in the future.

    Captain Oathbreaker’s Shame

    Its maybe a silly question but I have been out of the game for a few and I decided to come back. Anyway i was doing rem t1 first boss with my red captain. And every time I tried to put the oathbrakers, I just got the message that say "target does not meet requirements". There is an explanation for this?

    Considering returning to the game, but last time I logged on to Landroval, things seemed a lot more dead than I remembered last time I was on. Any RP kinship recommendations? Or maybe Laurelin is better for RP these days?

    What is the type of Map in lotro called

    I am looking for another MMO currently just for something fresh. But what is the type of Map in lotro called. What I mean is I love the way you can just walk from the Shire to bree to Lonelands to rivendell without having to teleport or having restricted zones. Sure you'll probably die and can't do story quests but you can go anywhere. I wan't that in my next game. No teleporting from one area to another I wan't to be able to walk across the entire world

    I was doing quests in Celendim and enjoying the area when I accidentally clicked on an item or a letter that transported me to the shire!! Is there any way I can go back or do I have to go by foot to finish the quests in Celemdin..

    Trouble with tying my character to the lore

    Greetings everyone,

    for 7 years I've been an on and off player of this wonderful game and recently started picking it up once more. I only play one character who actually is the second character I ever created many years back. He is a Hobbit Burglar.

    Tl,dr: Do you have any good ideas, how to justify a Hobbit Burglar roaming through Middle Earth?

    I have a lot of fun playing him and enjoy the burglars mechanics greatly. However since I created him, the way I play this game has changed. Back then I would just ‚play', do quests and enjoy the gameplay. Nowadays I am leaning much more to the RP side of playing. I am not actively RPing (looking into it though) but I try to make choices that make sense in the context of the world and story.

    Which brings me to the trouble I have, justifying a Hobbit burglar roaming through Middle Earth, stabbing orcs and other vile creatures in the back.

    The reason why I don't just drop him and roll up a new character is, that I really like my character, made great memories with him and have gathered many cosmetics and achievements.

    Do you have any good ideas, how to justify a Hobbit Burglar roaming through Middle Earth?

    Do you think RP/Lore as a Hobbit means to stay within the boundaries of the Shire and Breeland?

    Coming back after many years

    I am hoping the rumors are not true!!

    I used to play LOTRO years ago(like 7 or 8 years agao), and some friends i have met in those years thought it would be fun to give this game a go. So i downloaded the F2P just to chat with some folks in the game. My old toon was on a world that is no longer in the game. Is it really gone forever!? I would love to be able to have them available again

    So yea, when i enter the game and alt tab anywhere else i get graphics crasg direct x9 crash everything.. how to fix this, i need to shut down my pc eveytime

    Guardian leveling build

    my oldest character (born on day 1) is a Dwarf Guardian I stopped to play years ago, and now I want to level him to cap.

    He is in Aldburg at level 86, but I'm dieing a lot with the red tree build I used to run once.
    Which build is best suited for leveling? Is the yellow tree better than the red one?

    Any news regarding LOTRO and Catalina?

    Last time I checked my LOTRO client would not launch as Mac OS Catalina wouldn't allow 32-bit apps. Since then, I removed the game. Today I tried re-installing the client, hoping that something changed, but the client doesn't even send a message. Starts computing some stuff from a terminal-like window and then crashes and disappears.

    Any idea about what's happening? (in my Catalina macbook as well as the overall implementation of a Catalina-compatible client)

    Cannot load into game world

    Hello, i have been having issues loading into the game world. I get into the character select screen, pick my main, hit enter and then i get put into a loading screen that loads indefinitely with the progress bar never filling up. This is on Evernight. Any tips on how to fix this? has been going on for several days.

    Thanks for all the helpful replies, I recall being told Lallia used to stock one and have seen shots of it on a Mannequin but alas, it doesn't seem to be stocked anymore.

    My Equipped Javelin is Bugged out and showing Rank -15 under the DPS?

    This is my old level 85 Javelin (I'm now a 94 Warden). and it's equipped to me, but showing less DPS I think? I'm not sure what's going on as I don't really have the gold to find a level 94/95 replacement LI.

    Any word on this?
