    Why I Won't Play LOTRO

    Posted: 10 Feb 2020 12:46 AM PST

Hail and well met LOTRO players!

Since I was a teenager, I've been a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings. Eventually as video games progressed I was ecstatic to find out that Middle-earth was going to come to life in a fantasy virtual world. So I purchased the LOTRO collector's edition. I believe there was some small trinket at the time that came as a bonus. I played on an off and love it. That was over 10 years ago.

A few years ago, older, my sight like most folks tends to go, so you get reading glasses which really helps. So I tried to play LOTRO again but I noticed that it was very hard for me to see the inventory in my bags. Character progression via itemization is an important facet of the attraction in MMORPGs.

I now have a 32-inch ASUS predator monitor and I still can't make the inventory bigger nor can I resize it. Because when you have a bigger monitor, all of the UI elements become paradoxically smaller when you go up in resolution.

TLDR: I can't play LOTRO because I can't see my inventory.

Why is there no way to resize the inventory? This has been an ongoing issue since the release. Here I am a massive LOTR fan and desperately want to be a part of this virtual world but since I cannot see my inventory and other elements, I can't really play and enjoy this majestic MMORPG.

We have an aging population. Other MMOs have ways to resize their inventory and other UI elements. Why are these options not available to LOTRO players?

Anyways, thanks for listening. I just wanted to post this. Middle-aged people are gamers too. Please, video game studios, make your games accessible to people who don't have perfect eyesight. Thank you.

Returning again, again. A couple questions.

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 04:44 PM PST

The first question I've kind of asked before, but I noticed some patch notes directed towards them. How are Wardens now? The Gambit system always interested me but I'm more of a tank first kind of player. Otherwise I'll be playing Captain!

The second question is, are there any graphical mods that are up to date? I'm pretty unfamiliar with them overall, but I think I'd like to try one this time if there's one up to date to the current game, if it works that way.

    Returning player need some help

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 01:28 PM PST

    Hello guys,

Recently i decided to come back to the game after 1 year break. I really missed it..

Before i left the game i had bought the quad pack, 2 months of VIP and the Mordor pack with lotro coins (now i have 1114).

I am 83 lvl at Rohan area, i don't have any quests to do and i don't know what to do. I am kinda lost and i need some guidance. In addition, i play as a capy, is there anything important that developers have changed, that i should know?

    Thanks everyone for your time.

Chat filter: which one has skirmish encounters?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 03:37 PM PST

I would really love to have skirmish encounters on their own tab, but I can't figure out which filter they go with. I'm going to try some different things but it's probably going to take a really long time unless someone might now which channel they're on?

For the class tool slot, is there a difference regarding stats for the "class slot" between 3rd, 2nd and 1st age once you imbue it? Or is it only the amount of crystals/scrolls it needs to level up?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 05:43 PM PST

    Hey,

I recently made it to level 100 as a burglar and would like to know if there's any kind of difference stat wise between my class tool being 3rd/2nd/1st age after I imbue it.

I already have a first age set for the spec I am mostly playing which is red but for eventual group runs (mostly dungeons) I'd like to have a second set for yellow.

I already have a 1st age weapon for that but sadly there's only one dude selling 1st age tools on my server (gwaihir) and I can't afford another one.

I had a look around if I could maybe acquire a 2nd age or what ever via bartering (since no one sells 2nd age stuff in the auction house) but I couldn't find anything (please tell me if I am wrong and if there is something).

Since I will only play yellow in a group and won't spam dungeons all day, I wonder if a third age would be fine for that slot. If it's just scrolls/crystals, I don't mind, I can always throw money at that "issue" so to speak, but if there's a huge stat difference, that would be a bummer.

    So, is there a difference?

    Thanks

    Help with Mordath pages [Evernight]

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 02:11 AM PST

Asking kindly for some help. My friend and I have done absolutely everything in Mordor save the lore pages deed, since it requires us to do the raid. Now, I know people probably don't do AoM that much anymore, hence why I'm asking here. Anyone out there with cleared Mordath willing to let us in to pick those up? Or if you maybe know some kins that still occasionally do it, let us know so we can hit them up in game.
