What is Bullroarer/preview

This is lotro's open beta server where you can preview, test and report bugs about major upcoming patches before they go live.

When is this preview?

Bullroarer will remain open until Friday afternoon (01/10). Time subject to change.
Bullroarer will return early next week.

New instances (2 6-mans and 1 other)

Bar Nirnaeth, The Houses of Lamentation
- Thuringwath fortress
- Ost dunhothy gaunt-lords probably
Ghashan-Kutot, The Halls of Black Lore
- Reclamation questline spoilers
- Laeryth?
The Fallen Kings
- No idea, but not the raid? Doesn't sound like something a Shelob has in it.

Gear, crafting and essences

New gear can now be crafted by Tailors, Metalsmiths, Weaponsmiths, and Woodworkers.
Craftable essence upgrades that require crafted base ones (yellow ones won't)
Item level bonuses for gear has been corrected for Minas Morgul Instance Tiers.

Tidbits

50 Sigils of Imlad Ithil can now be traded for one Relic of Minas Ithil.
Three-person Instances now receive the solo version of the Scion mob effects.
Housing neighborhood stable-master routes to other neighborhoods will now be properly discovered when you speak to a neighborhood stable-master.
Defeating a Gauntman in the Gauntord instance now has a slight chance to drop a Tier 1 Reputation Relic.
- Barrow 3-man? Tier 1 rep relic = 1k rep?

Yet another returning player thread

I started LOTRO during beta, played for years, stopped at Helms Deep, popped in again around 2 years ago. Well, I'm back

Just wanted to say "hello" and invite any friendly neighbors to to reach out to me on Landroval as Dedoric, Walaran, or Rocso.

I love LOTRO and everything Standing Stone has done; I just get so very bored grinding mobs sometimes! Hopefully I'll have a longer run this go round.

Mordor Expansion

Is there a difference in content when purchasing the Mordor Base edition through the Lotro store with LP rather than through their online page? The LS expansion costs only 2495 points while on the SS market(lol) it's listed at $40. Do I still get the Aria of The Valar when i purchase through LS? I just went through leveling my Warden to 100 but want to play a DPS class that's actually viable in raids and don't want to spend another month leveling my RK.

Returning player help!

I last played in 2011/12, in fact I think it was after Migration. I logged on today after spending the last 4 days downloading and then re downloading (error 201) to find that I cant find any if my characters. Iv checked every server. My account on the internet shows my characters name, I just cant find the account.Theres also no option now to transfer my characters (just In case i wasnt playing after the migration) anybody have any insight?

im a long time player who takes vacations from the game often.. wondering how it is doing after so long? how is the playerbase and ettenmoors? are the devs any more willing to listen to the community? i have been pondering returning to play my burg. how is the gear grind? hows minas morgul? thank you!

Kinship doing older raids on level

Hey! I enjoyed the older stuff when I played and have no interest in anything beyond Rohan really. I'm interesting in a kinship that has capped characters at maybe different levels and runs weekly or even monthly older raids. I have a most of my characters on Landy but I'd possibly start on another server or go back to the legendary server if that's my best option. Any info would be much appreciated.

Efficient ways to complete trait points?

I've been through the process of getting all 94 trait points with a main character. But, I'm working on a character on my wife's F2P account that we've leveled up recently. She is missing the Rohan, Gondor and some of the epic and black book quests. Are there any shortcuts that I might be missing or do I just need to go through every single quest like I've done in the past? I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing any books/chapters/quests before I put in the work.

Also, we recently leveled up another character on that account with the 105 Aria of the Valar that came with the Mordor expansion. But, that character was only boosted to 70 some trait points. I read that the devs removed some trait books that they used to sell on the trainers. Is there any work around there since they removed the books?

New player, may be a stupid question...

So, I (free to play, level 32 elf) have been playing since about Thanksgiving and Yule has obviously been my first festival. I had a lot of fun participating in it, but I'm confused how all the tokens and figments of splendor and hobnanigans tokens and everything work. Are they use it or lose it? Should I go home tonight and have a huge spending spree before the festival ends or should I save some things for the spring festival to get better prizes then? Thanks in advance for any help!
