Posted: 10 Jul 2021 03:32 PM PDT If I join a kin, how rude is it to leave it and join another one? One of my characters is part of a kin, which I'd like to leave since I've seen too many sexist jokes in the kin chat. The kin also focuses on endgame content, which i don't have gear for. It seems like it's hard to know which kin to join from the ads/descriptions alone, but I don't want to be rude. This is my first game of this genre, started playing last october and have one lvl130 character now, but I'm still at loss when it comes to the group content/kins. [link] [comments]
I've never understand why Moria is so renowned. Posted: 10 Jul 2021 02:09 PM PDT Title, and wondering if anyone can explain this to me. I remember when Moria was released, and it was spectacular. It was the first expansion with so many things to do and so much content. So I'm not going to downplay its significance as an achievement for the developers. But after so many years, going through multiple accounts, many characters, and experiencing all the other expansions... I just end up dreading doing it, eventually. It's not navigation friendly, the maps very clearly weren't made to take into account that it has multiple levels going on, the less said about the Foundations of Stone, the better. Fast travel is great now, but most of the goat travel is just normal, set path riding that's automated... And the goats navigating on those staircases has led to one too many instances of them just falling straight off the edge and me dying. It's not fun to leave to go get some water and to find that I am not, in fact, at my destination because my goat got suicidal halfway through. It all seems really claustrophobic sometimes since the entire thing takes place in a cave. The Epic Quest -- possibly my favourite part of the game apart from Raids -- forces you to partake in several boring defence Skirmishes now and the navigation nowadays finds me buying a lot of Mithril Coins just to get on with it. Apart from all the colourful, glowing crystals and the ruins, most of what I have to look at is various shades of dark blue and grey rocks, so I've never found it all too visually appealing. Am I missing something? It just feels like the expansion is put on a pedestal for nostalgia's sake sometime, or I'm not enjoying it properly. Most people I've spoken to seem to abhor Lothlorien and see Mirkwood as the more problematic of the expansions, but I was so relieved to see the sun again and some bloody trees for a change. Help me decide which class to play! (Treebeard) Posted: 10 Jul 2021 04:46 PM PDT Hey all! Decided I'm going to give Treebeard a go and I can't decide which class I want to play. I've always mained minstrel but being relatively new to the game, I never really got to experience Lotro like how it used to be. So I'm torn between playing minstrel and getting to experience what it's like to actually do group content while leveling as a minstrel, or playing something I normally don't such as hunter. I love the class fantasy of hunter and have always been tempted to play one but never got anywhere past level 40 or so. Help me pick! :) [link] [comments]

Returning player starting fresh - which server? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 01:36 PM PDT Greetings all. I'm re-downloading after being gone a couple of years having played mostly on Laurelin and Landroval in the past. I mostly enjoy exploring, leveling and chatting/socializing along the way. I want to start a completely new character and wanted to get recommendations on which server. I was thinking the new servers Shadowfax or Treebeard might be the most fun but don't know if there are any RP kins. Anyone have a recommendation they would share? [link] [comments]
Another returning player with questions. Posted: 10 Jul 2021 05:09 PM PDT Just a few quick questions if you all don't mind. Quick back story. played since beta and quit for a few years right before the Mordor Xpac. so I'm currently 105 with no Xpac past my lvl. So I have enough points to buy all the xpac's along with a boost. I'm the type of player that has more interest in Maxing out my character, I enjoy questing in lotro, but the end game has always been more appealing to me. I'm torn between the following. If there is any reason to buy all the xpacs and level through them? will I miss anything that would prevent my character from being stronger? because I figure if I have a craving to do quests I could just buy the xpac's backtrack and do them later if I want. Then part of me is wanting to just buy the boost and just get what I need to level. The points aren't an issue, I just don't have nearly the time as I use to. If I did go this route would I need Minas Morgul or just War of three peaks. [link] [comments]
Bought War of Three Peaks, now what? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 02:38 PM PDT Pretty much as the title states, purchased the expansion in game and nothing happened. I assumed I'd get some mail starting me on a chain quest but nothing. Tried looking up where I begin the quests and haven't had any luck. Any help?? [link] [comments]
Confused about expansions and quest packs Posted: 10 Jul 2021 09:13 AM PDT Hey everyone. I'm a returning player and am enjoying the game so I decided to subscribe. However, I'm confused about the expansions. I read that all the quests are included in a subscription. Does that mean when I hit 50, I'll be able to go to Moria or do I need to buy the expansion separately? Thanks [link] [comments]

Customer Service For This Game Is a Joke Posted: 10 Jul 2021 08:37 AM PDT Hey everyone, since CS isn't helping me (yes, I did submit a ticket) and Cordovan never got back to me on Discord, perhaps you can help me out. I am a tester (not since the game's original Beta, meant BR) for the game, and everything is linked to my account - my characters for live, all my items, quest packs, etc, plus all my testing stuff. Just the other day, I tried logging in to my account, but got an error saying " Sorry! We couldn't authenticate your login information. Please try again. " I figure okay, maybe the site's just down. Try again later, same exact thing. So, I tried with my other account. Nothing. At this point, I DM Cordovan. As of this posting, he still has not gotten back to me yet. This was on Wednesday. While I'm not quite frustrated yet, I am a bit irritated. I can't log on to the forums to report this, I can't log into the game to submit a ticket in-game, I can't even log into my account page. I'm not banned, since I never got a ban notification, and my account has always been in good standing. I'm also not IP blocked, as the same thing happened when I tried logging in at work. Has anyone ever had this issue? If so, how did you fix it? This is why I don't rely on CS in games, I rely on my fellow players. And yes, I know it's only been a few days since I messaged Cord, but surely he has at least checked Discord by now. Edited for clarification [link] [comments] |
