Posted: 23 Jul 2021 04:59 PM PDT Hi, old player here, from 2007, and after I came back a few weeks ago, I realized the game doesn't run smoothly anymore in my computer. So, time to upgrade my hardware in order to play. Now I'm having a lot of stutter and long loading times and watching streamers I noticed they don't. My rig is an i7 2600, 12 gb ddr3, 500 ssd but the game in a mechanical 1 tb. Video is an rx580 8gb. My budget is very limited, so I'm planning to buy second hand parts when possible (I work as IT so is OK, I always do). What is my plan: Ryzen 5/7 second hand, motherboard according, 32 gb ddr4 (8 gb x 4) dual channel. And a 1 tb ssd. No new video since these days the prices are banana crazy and I'm more than happy with my rx580, plus, no money. What are your thoughts?. I love this game too much and running it in high resolution is a must. What rig you have and how run for you?. Best regards and ty for the help. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 23 Jul 2021 07:42 AM PDT So i've played the game once a year and a half ago, and made a hobbit ministrel with friends. Most of them were dwarves, so we ended up with a dwarven company, with a single hobbit in it. It was completely unintentional but it gave me a good laugh already. We started questing, doing side missions near Bree, and end up doing the great barrow. I died in the process but we managed to beat it (later learned that i missed a title for not dying, but oh well). Super happy, we got back to town, and we ended up witnessing some kind of musician face-off with two bands battling with their instruments. People around were cheering for them and we ended up staying there for a good 2 hours before logging off. The very next day, around the same time, the same bands doing their thing. So i picked up my flute and tried pressing buttons. Nothing close to hearable, it was a mess. They all stopped playing and started looking at me. "Go on". I ran away in shame lol. So i trained during our quests, pissed every single one of my friends in the process, and came back a few days later. They actually stopped right as i arrived because they knew haha. I played like 10 seconds of some broken star wars theme i managed to somehow play on the flute and they started cheering for me. And they went back to playing. We kept going for a while, crafting gear, bought our own house, making thousands of bags of pipe-weed, filling everyone's bags to the point of being unable to loot anything, doing events when they were happening (i remember some kind of maze and delivering stuff... And i got a deer mount i think ?). We once decided to go all the way to Angmar. We ran from Bree all the way there, at level 25 something. It took HOURS. I died to some trolls and they could not save me as i was surrounded by much higher level enemies. They tried calling for help and some super high level ministrel came to our rescue, but the revive timer was ticking. He saved me less than 20 seconds before the end of the timer, because it took a while to kill all the monsters. Then... I got teleported back to Bree. It wouldn't allow me to revive in this much higher level zone. We stopped playing at around level 35, when classic wow came out, but yeah. Unsubbed when we heard of recent events. So we downloaded LOTRO once again yesterday. This time a hobbit, a couple dwarves and a human. I'm playing the ministrel again. The very first thing i do is rush to Bree to join the human. What i saw there ? A bunch of musicians in a face-off. One of them stopped playing and said to us 'what kind of outfit is that' and started mocking me. I slapped him for his impudence and we ran for it. I hope we don't have a bounty or something lol. I fucking love this game [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 23 Jul 2021 04:51 AM PDT So I was finishing up Deeds in Mirkwood and hit lvl 74 and got a letter from "G" asking me to jump to Rohan and I'll get a new horse so I figured what the heck and.... My God this place is beautiful. I landed at sunset, and the sky and the music and the landscape... Even at the lowest graphics settings this place is amazing, especially coming from Mirkwood. I'm a bit too underleveled but I'm going to come back here soon. Well done guys. [link] [comments] | ||

But if there were no other options - that'd mean low-level crafting would be needed and resources wouldn't be that easy to come by. [link] [comments] |
