Updated tips for new players starting out in 2021? Posted: 13 Mar 2021 05:48 PM PST With a sudden increase in gaming time over the past year, I figured it was finally the time to give LOTRO a shot again after not having played since 2009. I came here to check for any quick tips or guides for fresh players, but the linked posts under the rules section are from 8 years ago. back when the Helm's Deep expansion was launched according to Google. My goal of this post is to both find out how to best enjoy my time in LOTRO, while also creating a guide for new players to follow along with. As people post more tips/tricks/guides/ect. I'll update when I can. ------ March - 2021 Streamline the processMany PC gamers are familiar with the basics of most modern MMOs (i.e. RuneScape, WoW, Eve, FFXIV, PlanetSide(2), ect.), and don't need a breakdown of how LOTRO works, but need a list of tips of how to streamline their playtime so they don't need to waste their first ~20hrs stumbling through the game. Wait for sale / get VIP statusFrom what I have read, it is best to wait until there is a sale to purchase expansions/races/classes/ect., and that VIP status is a great benefit to have for regular players. If someone can provide further clarification for best times or tricks for bundles, ect., just post down below and I'd be happy to update. Basics/Tips/Tricks/Plugins/GuidesNow I'm asking you for your input and suggestions! Let me know what you wish you knew when starting out and how to best enjoy the game! Here's a few questions:
TLDR: What are the "must know" tips/tricks/guides/ect. that players starting in 2021 need to know? ----- Edit 1: Here's a few suggestions from you guys! Guides/Resources

Leveling through Mordor...not really a blast Posted: 13 Mar 2021 05:59 AM PST Hello everyone! As of right now I'm leveling through Mordor and while not finished yet (lvl 112) an end is in sight! And I've got to admit I'm really happy about that....Mordor just isn't for me. I guess the devs did a great job to replicate Mordor and its environment when I hate being there since everything is grey and firery and just not fun to look at. The story (so far) is great and its really interesting to see where they are going with it. I'm definitely going to finish leveling the quests in Mordor, but I am curious on how important that would be for my toons as just doing warg pens etc. would be the better option for me since I really dislike Mordor and would rather just somewhat skip it. So yeah my question basically is: are there any benefits in questing through Mordor that are really important if I'm not in it for the story? Hope you all have a great weekend and I'm looking forward to some answers :) [link] [comments] | ||

Question: To Get the Full Game! Posted: 13 Mar 2021 04:44 PM PST Yes I know, I wont need to have the full game at the start so humor me with this question. If I were to come to this game, what would I need to buy to get EVERYTHING? All expansions, all DLC everything. Can someone post links to everything I would need to get? I went to the website but this game is so old, is has a lot of stuff and I really cannot make out what it is I need to buy to get the complete package. [link] [comments] |
