Posted: 28 Dec 2020 12:10 PM PST I have been playing WoW Classic since it launched in Q3 2019, but I've grown bored. The entire theme of the game is now just rushing to max level, then trying to gear up for the last dungeon (Naxxramas). I have neither the time, interest, or money(!) to pursue that. I'm looking for a more leisurely MMO experience that places at least some emphasis on enjoying the leveling experience, and I've heard great things about LotRO. To add the cherry on the top, I've been a lifelong fan of the Tolkien universe. I know this is very specific, but I'm hoping for some guidance from fellow former WoW players who are playing LotRO, specifically some help with class comparisons (if any apply). I'd also like to know if roles are similar with the holy trinity — Tank, Healer, DPS. Lastly, I'd love some advice on what servers to play on, what version of the game to buy, and just general tips and tricks. Any advice would be very appreciated! [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2020 08:12 AM PST Which instances have dragon bosses? Any big 'ol silly lizard will do. Also, which landscape zones at various levels would best fulfill a dragon slayer's role playing desires? [link] [comments]
LPT: It will be easier to find friends in the game than get friends back into the game. Posted: 28 Dec 2020 08:20 AM PST Shout out to all the super nice folks on Landroval. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2020 05:39 PM PST I have tried playing a few different times but never fully committed. I want to get into lotro, but I feel a bit overwhelmed. I was hoping that the community could answer some questions for me. 1. What expansions/content do I absolutely need to purchase? 2. I normally play a tank or healer, what classes that can fulfill one of those roles are needed for end game? 3. How long does it take to level a character to max level? 4. What activities are available for max level characters? Thanks for your responses in advance! [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2020 11:31 AM PST Hey guys, brand new to the game and VIP straight away as quarantine was getting to me. I've looked through some things but it seems a little outdated I'm struggling to work out what's been unlocked for me. Have any of the expansion packs unlocked? Extra xp? I looked through the pinned guides and can't see too much. Any help would be much appreciated! [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2020 02:29 PM PST I'm struggling to find an endgame raid group for higher Rem tier and Bloody Threshold on Landroval but it seems the groups I'm in are either dead or exclusive. I wonder if anybody here has a slot in their group that I can join. Thank you for reading! [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2020 05:40 PM PST I've been playing LotRO for a while and have been ignoring crafting, but I'd like to get into it now. I'm planning to do the 4 vocations (tinker, woodsman, armorer, historian) over 4 characters to cover all professions and be as self-sufficient as possible. However, I don't really want to spend time leveling up 4 characters. Currently, I've got a lore-master (main - level 40) and a minstrel (level 12 - she's new) who I'm interested in leveling up all the way, and a hunter who I'm not (level 20). I will need to make a 4th who I also probably won't care that much about leveling all the way - this will probably be another lore-master. All elves, if that's relevant. I'm thinking I'll make my main lore-master a tinker and my minstrel a woodsman, that way the gathering professions can be covered by the characters I play most often/ highest level characters. Then my hunter would be an armorer and my new character (probably lore-master) a historian. If I'm understanding correctly, you can have one character in two guilds now, so I should have those all covered as well I think. Also worth mentioning that I'm Premium not VIP, attempting to do the "DIY Lifetime Subscription" thing, so I will buy guild access. Because of this, I don't want any of them to change vocations once they've joined their guilds, so trying to get it right the first time! Although maybe guilds don't matter so much right now seeing as all my characters are still relatively low level? What do you think of this plan? Would there be any major disadvantages to not having my armorer and historian leveled up? Anything you'd do differently? Any other advice for a newbie to crafting? Thank you in advance! Is the store down? Also - can't access expansion keys I bought. Posted: 28 Dec 2020 12:32 PM PST I cannot access the ingame store. It opens up in game, but it has a Xsolla error, white screen. I therefore cannot subscribe. I bought the Quad Pack, Helms Deep and Mordor on the Marketplace website. The order has the keys missing. There is a blank space where the key should be. The only email I have says to wait 48 hours for another email. Also, the game runs at a high fps, but there are laggy stutters almost every 10 seconds. I tried on my gaming laptop, my desktop and my partners PC. The character sometimes seems like he skips about every so often. I play from EU/UK - 80ms ping. I guess it's just a shit engine. Losing the will to play xD [link] [comments]
English audio but german text? Posted: 28 Dec 2020 05:00 AM PST Hi, I wanted to play lotro again but I wanted to set the audio on english but keep the text in german. Is it just possible to switch it to whole english or to whole german? English Audio with german text is always the sweet spot for me because most of the time I like the english voice acting more. This is also the case here. Is it somehow possible to set the audio on english but the text in german? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
