LOTRO has my favourite world design of any video game Posted: 31 Oct 2020 01:36 PM PDT I love open world games like The Witcher, Fallout, Elder Scrolls etc. But in terms of world design, I think LOTRO outstrips then all, and their forests are the best example of that. When playing Skyrim, I would go through the forests they have there, but I never actually felt like I was IN a forest. However, when I play LOTRO, the forests actually feel like forests. And I think this is because the LOTRO tea understand just how not-uniform forests are. In a certain forest in Skyrim, you might get a few different species of tree, an odd fallen log here and there and a tree stump. But what I have never seen are "weird" trees. These are trees that grow very closely together in clumps, or ones with branches sticking out at odd angles, or even ones which have far more/fewer branches than usual. However LOTRO has plenty of these kinds of trees. I'm looking right now at a clump of three trees growing together. I've seen trees with very many branches sticking our at odd angles. Stuck on loading screen only as Beorning? Posted: 31 Oct 2020 04:21 PM PDT Hey guys, new player here. I just bought the Beorning unlock because I've always liked the kind of shapeshifter class, but for some reason, every time I make one, I get stuck on the loading screen when I first log onto the character, and then if I force quit and load back in, the character is unavailable. I've made 4 different Beornings to keep trying, and I even switch servers, it happens every time (also happens to me with the early bedroll dream quest, but that's a different story.
