    Is it any good?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 05:34 AM PDT

I am a LoTR nerd and I like video games, but I'm not really into mmo's as they are usually pretty but ultimately shallow. Is this game an exception and actually has pretty darn nice story or is it more for people who like grindy quests and squeezing the most out of their character? I understand that this subreddit is dedicated to the game so the answers may be a little biased towards it but please answer honestly.

    Horrible game lag?

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 07:01 PM PDT

Is anyone else experience sudden bouts of server lag going on while playing?

I'm on Crick and this is the only game where I will have huge packet loss occur. Other kin members will notice it, too, and I wouldn't bother posting here if it wasn't really starting to become an issue.

Edit: it used to be fine and smooth but now about 40% of the time I'm playing, even when instanced, I'll have massive lag spikes. And I'm talking like a 5-8 second delay between skill casts, etc. Tonight it was absolutely horrid and I had to log off as a result. Not too happy coz I'm trying to get rk raid ready.

Migrating Game to Win 10 and different PC .... HOW do I NOT lose progress and areas? (HEEEELLLLP!)

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 08:19 PM PDT

I need to migrate the game from an old (Win 7) Dell - where most of the game assets were stored and accessed from a passport drive - as the Dell had a truly pathetic system drive. So the game files are split between system drive and passport drive. Now I need to migrate to a different PC, newer, with Win 10. And I've never used Win 10. Are there any tutorials kicking around on 'how to do it'?

I just don't want to lose my game progress, and the areas I've paid for. And I'm not too thrilled at the prospect of downloading all the game assets again .... last time I had to do it it was 18 GB.

Advice, or links to advice, would be much appreciated.

    LI question (returning player)

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 04:41 PM PDT

Hello. Lifetime account holder. I have jumped into this game so many times since 2007. I currently reinstalled and quickly remembered why I left everytime. The LI system. I have looked at guides and it just seems way too grindy to get the crystals I need. How important is upgrading the LI if I mainly just want to do the expansion questing (no interest in dungeons/raids) ? Currently my champion is level 115 trying to finish up Mordor questline. I am dual wielding swords and the dps of my offhand sword is about 2x as much as the dps on my LI

    Help with Mac install

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 06:44 PM PDT

    Hello,

When trying to install the game on a 2009 mbp running El Capitan osX, whenever I download the game from the Mac client from the lotro website, the lotroclient when opened gives the error " game_module => failed 'process' step". This is as far as I can get, and in theory it should work on this computer form what I have heard. This same error has also happened on a 2006 Mac and a ~2012 Mac running Catalina for me.

    Thanks in advance!
