Posted: 24 Sep 2020 02:03 PM PDT So here is some subtext. I am a lifetime subber to this game, and got it when it original came out. I loved SoA, I was in a Kinship that was doing Hele and Rift and all the Angmar 6 mans every week and I was excited to get MoM. The promo for the Legendary Items in MoM was amazing, get your own Sting or Glamdring and level it with your character! When I saw what the system actually was, a random mess of dice rolling and grinding to get anywhere near a good weapon, only for an expansion to add 5 levels and make all that work invalid, I was done. I lasted until the end of Siege of Mirkwood, and have been a ghost that pops in every so often for an event ever since, never again attempting to do the group content in this game. But Imbued Legendarys, with no tiers to the legacies and even though your assigned legacies are still random, it is so much easier to swap them out and get the ones you want now. I just think back on all the lost years I've had with this game and think, why wasn't it like this from the start? This is much cleaner and so much better for players, with an ever growing game, you just add more levels to the weapons and maybe throw in some new Legacies to tempt people into a reset. Don't get me wrong I still have my miss givings with some of the changes, I'm not a fan of the death of multi-role classes like the Captain, the whole reason this game was built on 6 man groups over the traditional 5 was so they could have that dedicated support role and not hamper group building, but I can get over that, as at least leveling my Captain doesn't feel like running a marathon just to get to the end of my street anymore. But I think I could have stuck with all of those changes had the Legendary Item system not completely killed my interest in this game all the way back in MoM. [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Sep 2020 01:19 PM PDT Ok so i am still a noob in this game. I started playing at the start of 2020 but made big pauses during that time. I have a lvl 50 character but i often need help. The game seems to big, complicated and intimidating to me. If anyone could help me with some angmar quests i would be more than grateful. I played a lot of games in my life but never an MMORPG like this or WoW. [link] [comments]
Crafting Guilds - 4 toons or 7 toons? Posted: 24 Sep 2020 02:20 PM PDT I am a total completionist and am wondering if there is any benefit to leveling 7 toons, each joining their respective crafting guild, or 4 toons, with each joining more than one guild? I thought I read a while back that those joining the 2nd guild lose out on additional titles. Is this true? Thank you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Sep 2020 11:58 AM PDT Hello all, I play on my laptop but got a new 31" monitor for work. I thought it would be fun to play lotro on this much nicer screen so I plugged it in via hdmi and I can open the window on the new monitor, but lotro's max dimensions are that of my laptop. Is there a way around this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Sep 2020 08:07 PM PDT I played during the free trial period and didn't realize that I was playing extra areas, like Moria (used to be free) is there a cheap way to get it all? I'm VIP, Gladden if that matters [link] [comments]
Guardian or Minstrel... I want to do everything in the game... Posted: 24 Sep 2020 07:55 PM PDT Please help. I am super torn between both of these classes. I have a dwarf guardian and a hobbit minstrel. I am wanting to experience the whole game through the eyes of one of these classes. I will admit that I find the minstrel to be more fun to play as it auto-targets surrounding mobs and I can run through killing to my hearts content. I also like to be able to pull lots of mobs and AoE them all at once with my guardian. That all being said I lean toward wanting to play the minstrel. I will be doing all of the quests so most mobs will be green or blue as well as the quests themselves. I will be locking my XP. I will be crafting with mules the best gear every 10 levels and will be locking my XP to do all of the quests. (ex. Locking at level 20 to do all level 11-20 quests, etc.). I know I am super OCD but want to experience the whole game, lol. I am mostly here for the story of the game; I want to see everything. With the way I will be leveling, can I do all of the dungeons with a minstrel or will it require a guardian? I would love to see the raids and dungeons too during the appropriate times in the story, but understand that some raids will be off-limits due to mechanics. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Sep 2020 01:21 PM PDT Hi guys! So I just started playing LOTRO. As in within the past week. I'm really enjoying it so far, and it's definitely tiding me over until WoW drops the new patch (and well beyond). Here's the thing - I'm playing two characters. One with a friend, and one by myself. The problem is that I'm just doing the same quests twice to level. I get that the storyline quests will be the same, but are there any unique/out of the way quests that y'all would recommend I do? I'm currently level 19 and losing my mind having to quest through the Barrow Downs... again. I would really like to level somewhere else until I'm high enough to comfortably go to the Lone-Lands, but I'm not even sure if there is anywhere else I can go. Any recommendations would be awesome! Thank you all! [link] [comments]

Loremaster or Captain, which is best to duo with Warden Posted: 24 Sep 2020 05:17 AM PDT Me and my room mate are currently playing together in duo and we aim to complete 3man and 6man content with only the two of us. He as chosen to be a Warden, however i am torn between Loremaster and Captain. Which class is better, loremaster or captain, to duo 3man and 6man content? Which class is more fun to you? Any comment will help, tips for builds or instances are also welcome. We are around level 40 now. Thanks! :) [link] [comments]
