So I just made my first toon ever. I've been playing for a few hours only and am HOOKED reading all of your stories. I read somewhere there is a sale going on until the end of August — so can someone please enlighten me on what packs I should be purchasing? I am looking to grind it all the way, enjoying the story at my own pace. I also don't want to miss out on this opportunity.

I was actually really hoping to play a mage (runekeeper is it?) but to my surprise it is locked for F2P. Do these automatically come unlocked when buying the expansion bundle for all content?

Thanks fellow Middle Earthers. Hope to run into some of you further down the line.

Just discovered I can set instances to lower levels

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 04:26 AM PDT

Wanted to share for any of my other fellow newbie soloists who may not have realized this either.

I prefer to solo as much as I can; I find it much more immersive. So I was really, really depressed to discover that the Evendim Instances are part of that area's deed and that they scaled. I thought that meant I had no choice but to run it at the same level I was currently at.

A stray comment on a website post mentioned setting an instance a few level below - so I tried it out and discovered I could set the instance to whatever I level I wanted from the instance's range.

LIVE NOW - NO SLEEP TILL MORDOR: EP #11 - "Eight Riders are accounted for... the ninth, however...

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 04:35 PM PDT

Greetings to all fans of Middle-Earth and LOTRO!

Our inspiration (and solid diplomacy skills) united the Northern Kingdoms to march against the Enemy in the North-Downs, the Council of the North was created. After defending Trestlebridge from relentless Orcs attacks, Nellie Boskins was the final piece in the puzzle for the North to become united against the Enemy that has now taken Fornost, the former Capital of the Kingdom of Arnor.

Halbarad bid us to report the news to the Rangers Chieftain, Aragorn, who is on a much more important quest...

We arrive at Rivendell and speak to Aragorn:

"Shortly after Frodo Baggins and his company came to Rivendell, my father sent us to search for signs of the Nazgƻl, the Nine Riders of the Enemy. We found the bodies of eight horses downstream, but of the last there was no sign. We searched further, but still found nothing.

"We travelled far afield, into lands to the south, and still found no sign of the fleeing Rider. Only on our return journey did we find something: hoofprints in the South Trollshaws, far south of the road. There are many narrow valleys in that region -- the Nazgƻl might lie there, sheltered from prying eyes, waiting for his time to strike.

"Journey far south of the road in the South Trollshaws, <name>, and seek out the missing Rider. The ruins within those narrow channels have a fell reputation. Minas Agor that place was called of old, and the Nazgƻl may have sought it out for that reason."

After searching the camp... we found the horse, but not the Rider...

And that's where we start today's episode!

Head over to www.twitch.tv/propirate as we head live at 11am NZT (1 hour 15 minutes from post).

It'd be great if you're interested to give our page a follow - just a group of lads playing through LOTRO and trying to keep our followers entertained! Hope to see you all there. Lothlorien or skip?

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 08:03 PM PDT

I just finished Moria at lvl 60 and am wondering if it's worth staying in LĆ³rien for a bit or if I should just do the quest to head on over to Mirkwood ASAP. Seems like there are way more quests that I could possibly do and not be ludicrously over leveled. Is Enedwaith worth it too for 60-70?

Opinions on Warden as a Tank in current endgame?

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 11:59 AM PDT

    Hi guys!

I just came back to LotRO after a 2 year hiatus more or less. I wanted to be a tank, so I started a Warden. Now I'm lvl 33, and I've heard that Wardens aren't viable tanks in the endgame currently.

What are your opinions on this? Can Blue Line Warden tank effectively on endgame content? Maybe going for Vit -> Agi instead of Agi -> Vit (as I was recommended)?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Instances quests

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 01:29 PM PDT

Hi! I'm still mostly solo player (54 level guardian) and went to few instances (Garth Agarwen, Goblin-town Throne Room...) and noticed that some of quests from outside ends in the instances (ie, Reclaim the Lost Maiden in GA). I also noticed there are few of quests for Urugarth in Gath ForthnĆr and few in Myrkworth. Is there anywhere list of quests to take with me to the instances and where to get them, so I don't have to do instances again if I don't want to?

    Raids / Instances / Skirmishes

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 08:09 AM PDT

Could someone explain the difference between them please? I mainly play solo so come up upon instances as part of quests which I understand is a map just for me so no others in there to help, but from a group perspective with stuff like fornsot (instance) and Helegrod(raid) and then skirmishes, what makes those different

I'm a free player right now and it is my understanding that I must buy this from the store? You can't actually earn it in game? If you can, how?

Question about the LOTRO expansion (99 point) deals

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 08:29 AM PDT

Hi everyone, I'm a f2p player So lotro posted the insane deal where they give the free code for quest packs and we saw how expansions were listed on a great deal with 99 points for 3 of them. However, my friend pointed out something The 99 point deals for expansion quests: Mirkwood and Moria claims that there are over a bunch of quests and for levels x-x. I see that the 99 points deal for Isengard lists that quests and region access are in the deal. Does that mean the first two I listed do not include the region but just the quests...? Which would make no sense Hopefully someone can help with this.

    Returning player Character Transfer

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 08:09 AM PDT

    Hello all,

I know the Character Transfers are temporarily down, does anyone know how long it usually takes to resolve issues? I dont want to start over as I had several characters with some serious time put in. But I also want to play this week, so if I need to make a new char I will.

    Thanks.

7 Day Suspension - Fair or Unfair?

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 08:01 PM PDT

I inspected a character once to see they were wearing "Jacket of the causeway" as a cosmetic. I looked it up and saw it was available for barter tokens doing PvMP (monster play). I go there and an NPC tells me I need to kill 10 monsters/creeps/whatever. There are none around anywhere. I finally concluded I would have to create my own and multibox using my other account to get anywhere.

later on I can't log on and then discover an email in my junk folder saying:

" Your The Lord of the Rings Online account has been suspended as a result of a confirmed Player Code of Conduct violation.

This suspension is for 7 days .

Specifically, a Game Master determined that you farmed ranks in PvMP. "

I looked through the code of conduct rules and did not see anything about it. Finally after more digging I found a 7 year old post from turbine in the lotro forum about it: https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?521744-Rank-Farming-Official

I didn't even want PvMP rank. I just wanted to get 100 level gear to use as a cosmetic for my 130 captain. In 5 years of playing I never had any interest in PVMP and still don't.

Nothing in the current rules I can see. No warning given. No knowledge I was doing anything wrong. Just an automatic suspension. They can take away whatever rank thingy I unintentionally farmed and don't care about or want and I'll gladly destroy what I got to use for cosmetic purposes.

    What do you think?
