I Journeyed from the Shire to Minas Tirith as a Lone Chicken - Eladrail

Attempt 1: 2 days ago, I attempted to walk to Mordor as a chicken on Evernight and on this first attempt, was joined by some really helpful Twitch viewers who escorted me to Minas Tirith before I died to a warg-rider. (Shouldn't have opened my map!) Big shout out to Evxll, Auredhel, Nathanduril, Laoiseach, Emiliandir and Maxcrowe!

Attempt 2: A day later, I attempted the journey again by myself this time to see how far I could go and I managed to get all the way to Osgiliath before auto-dying in the river (I thought I was clever to try cross that way xD)

Has anyone ever successfully walked to Mordor as a chicken by themselves so I know its possible? Here's some photos of each trip:

    Attempt 1 at Minas Tirith

Attempt 1 (Somewhere in the wilderness)

Attempt 2 Returning to Minas Tirith

    Attempt 2 at Edoras

    Attempt 2 at Osgiliath

Just started duo with wife, level 8 in shire, so many quests... what should we be working towards?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2020 06:14 PM PDT

Does anyone have a checklist of things that are worth accomplishing early in the game? Right now we're wandering around randomly doing quests, and it seems very scattered.

Should we be doing every single quest in the shire? There sure are a lot. The rewards tend to be inscrutable... tokens, reputation, materials... i have no idea what we should be working towards.

Help is appreciated. Most guides I've found are 3-4 years old.

Edit: we've played through Divinity 1 and 2 several times, but new to mmos.

New to lotro. Lvl 11 elf champion. Prospectors, tailor, armourer

    Posted: 12 Jul 2020 01:56 PM PDT

Arkenstone: Loved lotr since the books and when the movies came out. Took me awhile to try lotro. Didn't know how well it held up to Tolkien's lore. But I'm loving it so far. Anyway I'm in need of a forester to help me with hides so I can get my tailor up. Or if there is an easier way. I'd make a 2and character but I do t have all the time to play. Thanks for reading!

Just a small question about endgame

    Posted: 12 Jul 2020 04:33 PM PDT

I'm pretty new to lotro but looking forward to endgame gearing/raiding/grouping etc but I'm curious is there a specific class or role that is needed desperately I don't really care what I'm playing more that I'm helping the group and fulfilling an important role

    Imbued Legacy Replacement Scrolls

    Posted: 12 Jul 2020 12:43 PM PDT

As a boosted character, can you go back and start the Vol. 4, Book 4, questline to get these scrolls? Or, do you have to start with Book 1 in Western Gondor?

Anyone played on a modern ultrabook lately?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2020 07:44 PM PDT

Basic info: I've got a beefy desktop that I usually play games on. I have a Surface Pro 5 that I don't game on. I have an 8 year old laptop with an i7 and Radeon 8770M GPU that I sometimes take with me on trips if I want to game away from home. LotRO plays great on the desktop, plays OK at 1080p on the old laptop with details turned down, yadda yadda.

I'm looking for a new laptop to replace the old one, and likely to replace the Surface Pro. The old laptop was nearly 6 pounds, and having the Surface Pro has spoiled me for thin and light devices. I'd like a fairly powerful laptop in the Ultrabook category that I can use for occasional light gaming. I mainly play LotRO and some older RTS and Steam games. I'm not really an FPS type. At the moment I am considering three different Lenovo devices, all 14" and 1080p. One has a Ryzen 4700U, one has a Ryzen 4750U (same as the 4700U but has multi-threading), and one has a 10th gen i7 with an nVidia MX330 (which I believe is basically a very lightly tweaked MX250). The gist of it is that all three of these should perform very similarly, but I have no idea how well they would be able to run LotRO at 1080p. Does anyone have any insight (i.e., you've actually tried running it on them)?

And yes, I'd much prefer a 4800U but they apparently aren't really available on devices in the US. I'm not looking for general buying advice or "you should really do x, y, or z". I'm just trying to get an idea of how well those GPUs can run this game for occasional use.

    Where to get cosmetics?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2020 04:23 PM PDT

Heyall! are there any other places other than the classic and cosmetic vendor in the skirmish camp where you can get proper cosmetics?

Not interested in mithril coins, can always buy those anyway.

And i know festivals is one.

    Thanks in advance!

Running LOTRO on Surface Pro 7?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2020 03:41 AM PDT

Has anyone tried downloading/launching on a MS Surface Pro 7, which has Windows 10? I'm curious to know if it might run. Please see my comment on the specs.

Did LOTRO become pay-to-win // and can I move my old content to Steam?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2020 03:49 AM PDT

    Hi there

I haven't played for years and I would like to try again.

I paid for every single expansion back in the days (Isengard, Moria, Rohan, Helm's Deep, etc.), but I now saw the game is on Steam. People here are saying in the comments, that you can "You can BUY your way past everything" also mentioning loot boxes - what is all this about?

Can't you transfer all your old paid content to Steam and get access to the full game? Or do I have to pay for it all again? What about old characters, can I transfer those?

    Ty and cheers
