    New player advice

    Posted: 24 Jun 2020 12:31 AM PDT

So a friend of mine is about to start lotro. I've been a player since beta and so I'm unsure about navigating the things you need to buy, like wallet upgrades and riding for example.

Can anyone provide some advice on the best way to start in this respect? Is it good to pay a month vip to unlock 'things' for example?

With the current "lotro free quests" and cheap expansions, it seems like a great time to start enjoying such a well crafted game! So thanks for any advice!

As the title states I have come back to the game, I stopped when the level cap was 85, I now have no idea where I should be heading in regards to questing, how do I start the relevant content IE epic story line.

    Things bears can do

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 06:19 AM PDT

    Bears can:

    • Tank
    • Heal
    • Open chests

    Bears cannot:

    • Smash eggs
    • Look at things
    • Collect honey

Eru preserve us from anything 'immersion-breaking', right?

Session play in the Balewood. The Wildermore is probably one of the most underestimated regions of the game.

Best profession for alts if you already have other professions covered?

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 02:00 AM PDT

Assuming you already have all the professions covered by previous alts, what have you found to be the most efficient profession to make for new characters? Explorer is an obvious choice as can gather any ores or wood for passing on to other toons or selling, but are there any other professions that I have overlooked? And does this choice depend on whether you expect to get them to high level, or not?

    Thanks!
