Ok, we have an event schedule, but is there a discount schedule or something?

I really need some shared storage, but 900+ points is mucho dinero.

Do you know when discounts are? Are there bigger discounts when there are special events?

    64 Bit Client won't launch

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 06:48 PM PST

Every time I launch under x64 client it just relaunches and asks me if I want to dl the high res packs. I've humored it and re-downloaded them, but it doesn't change anything. Also done the repair game data option. No dice.

    Anyone else experienced this?

UPDATE: Just tried clean install (via steam) and same issue.

    News about the Rohan Houses

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 01:54 PM PST

Scenario answered some questions on the forum about new houses in Rohan.

He said that we will not have kinship houses but they are working on a way to facilitate the visit of the kin members' houses there.

Below are the three comments he made:

Both Rohan neighborhoods are premium housing and can be purchased with either Writs or Mithril Coins. Prices are still being balanced based on location and other factors.

There are no Kinship properties in either neighborhood (an individual can own their own meadhall!). We know one of the important features of a kinship house is ease of gathering together. With that in mind, one of the key features we are working on is a way for players to visit the houses of other members of their kinship

With a visit feature in place, any house can effectively become a kinship house (at least as far as it being a social gathering point). The Meadhalls have the same number and types of hooks as a Belfalas Island house does - plus housing across these two neighborhoods will have features in it that aren't available elsewhere (such as the brand new moveable Lighting hooks). We knew going into building these that getting people to give up their islands was going to be a hard sell - so we figured a combination of no kinship requirement, and new features, would entice players to these neighborhoods.

We made a decision intended to allow Rohan housing to become available in a more timely manner. We know that its an highly anticipated addition for many players and our goal is to make it available later this year.

We did not feel forcing Kinships to abandon their Belfalas kinship house in favor of a Rohan kinship house was acceptable. The effort needed to support multiple kinship houses stood to be fairly considerable and potentially complicated. This result is a compromise.

What two new zones are planned for 2020?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 04:28 PM PST

I thought a new "year ahead" letter would have come out by now. Oh well. I assume Mt Gundabad is one of them though?

I wanna play hobbit. What are the accepted classes for hobbit?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 01:26 PM PST

I heard hobbits are usually minstrel or burglar. But I dunno if those are the best fit raid-wise. Which classes would raid people not have a problem with if you were a hobbit. Which classes would fit lore-wise?

    LOTRO as a solo player

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 08:18 AM PST

So I've played a bit of LOTRO but never got past the lower levels. While I understand this is an MMO, grouping with people (or talking in general) makes me extremely anxious and I won't do any group content.

How much of LOTRO can you solo? Will I be massively underpowered because I'm not doing dungeon runs for good armor? Can I still do all the main story quests by myself?

In desperate need of cosmetics advice

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 12:30 PM PST

Let's start with the backstory: in my kin we had an award ceremony with some silly awards (best raid quite, leroy jenkins #2, most graceful death...). I won the award for "Fashion disaster". For the last few months i've been more or less owning it by wearing the most ridiculous outfit i could find but i think it's time for a good one now. I'd like to go for something in the style of Easterlings but i have no idea how to start on it. Any advice is welcome guys, thanks in advance.

Since i'm here, might as well advertise my kin. Slowtro is a lvl capped kinship on the evernight server. We have a group capped at lvl 100 and one at lvl 32.

Hey all, I recently bought the Minas Morgul expansion through the store, and have not received the confirmation email after about an hour. Is this normal or should I look into this further?

How bad are the microtransactions now?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 04:35 PM PST

I used to play this game on and off in the first few years after release and I absolutely loved it. It had great atmosphere and a very chill gameplay.

I kind of stopped playing it, though, as microtransactions kept creeping in everywhere. It seemed like every window suddenly had a button or two telling you that you could expand your quest log slots, buy more bagspace etc. The final blow was when they introduced an item that let you travel straight to your quest objective.

Now, however, my boyfriend and I are looking for a new MMO as we're getting a bit tired of WoW. I really want to introduce him to this great game and I feel like I could probably live with the MTX now, but my boyfriend is very, very much against them and would never give the game a chance.

So what I'm wondering is if the microtransactions are as prevalent as they were back when I quit in 2012 or so. My hope is that they might have dialled them down or that someone has released a UI mod to hide them all, but my fear is that it's only gotten worse.

How long does it take to max the guild reputation?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 07:32 AM PST

    I was just thinking..

Since I can't even get one person to make me a shitty expert tools kit, and if the guild rep farm lasts 10 months or whatever, then I might as well make all my characters now, and farm the rep with them all simultaneously, and then I would also be able to use all the recipes, and make myself all the stuff I need.

I made a little table: EDIT: Holy shit, I can't even see the whole width of the table. Where is the overflow? Anyway, you can see it if you type ctrl and (-) minus several times- it'll shrink your webview. When you want it back to normal, press ctrl and 0

Farmer Forester Prospector Cook Jeweler Metalsmith Scholar Tailor Weaponsmith Woodworker GOOD GUILD SUCKY GUILD
Armourer complimenting complimenting useless Metalsmith Tailor
Armsman complimenting complimenting useless Weaponsmith Woodworker
    Explorer complimenting useless complimenting Tailor
Historian complimenting complimenting useless Scholar Weaponsmith
Tinker complimenting useless complimenting Jeweler Cook
    Woodsman useless complimenting complimenting Woodworker
Yo-man complimenting complimenting useless Cook Tailor

So, I guess that if you wanted the minimum amount of characters, you could take

    1. Tinker - because only one with jeweler, so it's a given)
    2. Armourer - because it has Tailor. Explorer sucks, and yo-man would be redundant
    3. Historian - because weaponsmith would be redundant, and we need forester from somewhere, and we need Scholar anyway. So we pick:
    4. Woodworker - because of forester and woodworker.

And that's it. If you know a better combo with the least amount of people, tell me

Now, we are left with this:

Farmer Forester Prospector Cook Jeweler Metalsmith Scholar Tailor Weaponsmith Woodworker GOOD GUILD SUCKY GUILD
Armourer complimenting complimenting useless Metalsmith Tailor
Historian complimenting complimenting useless Scholar Weaponsmith
Tinker complimenting useless complimenting Jeweler Cook
    Woodsman useless complimenting complimenting Woodworker

Now, I need you to tell me which of these vocations would be best suited for which race? Actually, I'll make it easier for you. Since my Dwarf is a Tinker, You gotta spread the other 3 vocations over elf, man and hobbit.

    Tnx!

Best race for Lore-master? (Besides High-Elf)

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 08:55 AM PST

Ok, I picked a Woodsman Elf Hunter, an Armourer Captain Man, and now I only need a lore-master to be my Scholar

In that legendary forum post where the answer to everything is either Man or High-Elf (except for elf hunter), it says that the importance of the race of High-elf is of low importance for the lore-master class. The most important thing that is always highlighted is that they have a bonus to Will.

I dunno. I can't see myself farming so much that I would farm 1000 points for a high-elf in a short amount of time. So I was hoping that maybe some other class would be as good.
