Back after a looooong time away

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 04:44 PM PST

Okay I'm doing it. This sub convinced me. I'm redownloading LOTRO. I haven't played since like 2015 so I'm pretty out of the loop when it comes to the game. I think my character was like a level 30 Warden or something? Anyways I'm one of those players that gets kind of frustrated with the grind but enjoys end game stuff like raids so if there's any Kinship that could help a brother out it would be much appreciated. Really thankful I found this community because I've been wanting to get back into the game but I didn't want to play alone.

Amazon Creates Middle Earth in the 2nd Age Coming 2021

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 04:56 AM PST

So Amazon won the rights to create a 5 season TV series on the 2nd Age of Middle Earth. We get to see the rise of Sauron and perhaps the Island of Numenor. I hope I live long enough to see it!

    Best class to solo content?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 11:04 PM PST

I got curious about returning to LotRO yesterday, but its fairly obvious already that while servers seem to have a stable population, its not guaranteed that you will always find a group for group content.

I dont think I will have the time to engage in a kinship or search for groups for a long time, so I wanna ask:

Which is the best class to solo play with? I heard Warden are not bad, although I dont know if I enjoy their gameplay loop. Champion technically interests me most from a gameplay perspective, but I dont think they are any good as soloers.

    Brandy pvmp

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 03:20 PM PST

Coming back after some time, what's the state of brandywine pvmp? And about wardens in pvmp, is it nowadays "allowed" to spam bleeds and heals?

Can expert Lore-Masters help me about dps/ pvmp imbued legacies?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 01:13 PM PST

I made some research and found these legacies are best for dps/ pvmp. Should I change any of these? What do you think guys? If I cap my critical rating, are these crit rating legacies will be useless?

Staff: Lightning Storm base damage, lightning skills critical rating, tactical skills direct damage, fire skills critical damage, Burning Embers initial damage, Light of the Rising Down damage, Light of the Rising Down base critical damage

Book: Light/ Lightning type damage, Wizard's Fire critical chance, target resistance (damaging skills), fire skills critical rating, fire damage over time, Burning Embers critical chance, armour debuff potency

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 11:45 AM PST

So i played this back in 2013 but i don't remember anything about the game and i was bored so i figured i'd give this a shot again. So basically i was just wondering what would be the best solo class to play and what would be some good advice for a new player?

    NZ/Aus OCX kinships?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 10:59 AM PST

I used to play this game a long time ago (I think I left a bit after moria or mirkwood) and am thinking of coming back.

Still need to check what is left in my account. My main used to be a warden and I think I even did some raids with it.

The thing is I've moved to NZ and would like to play on a server with a good OCx (Aus and NZ) population.

    Any recommendations?

Also, I might start from scratch to remember the game. Definitely playing a warden again for solo capability and versatility. But would love some pointers on builds and gear. Seems they changed their main stat sometime.

And last, I'm a bit of a completionist but dont like to overlvl content too much to keep some challenge. I dont remember how it works with this, if I can still do underlvl quests just not getting xp or something.

    Cheers!

    Mods or plugins?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 06:05 PM PST

What mods or plug-ins does everyone use, and what do they do for you? I am a returning player and would like to hear what works best.

I have heard that reshare does a terrific job.

Returning player - what should I know and what should I buy?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 03:45 AM PST

So I'm coming back to the game for what feels like the 48th time now and am as motivated as ever.

I stopped around 1,5 years ago at lvl 115 shortly after the Mordor raid was released and was pretty much maxed out LI-, gear- and virtuewise.

I already bought the new expansion but is it a good idea or maybe even necessary to purchase certain other areas to level from 115 to 120? Or should I just powerlevel in warg pens (if this still a thing?)?

In the long run I wanna get back in T2 raiding, but I guess that will take some time...

Thanks in advance for any tips and recommendations!

    Issue with resolution

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 08:46 AM PST

Every time I start the client, it starts in windowed mode, messing up all my plugins' location. I need to go in the options menu, change to fullscreen, change to the real resolution (it's always lower than what it should be), then go back to borderless. I play in 3440x1440 (Ultrawide) if that helps. What can I do?
