What is LotRO missing outside of the game?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 12:50 AM PST

    Hello fellowship,

I'm thinking a lot at the moment about what LotRO is missing, outside of the game, to get more popularity. These missing things could be websites, addons, services etc.

I've watched last week a video of a well known MMO Youtuber who has asked his community which MMO is their favorite. ESO, GW2 and FF was mentioned a lot. I haven't seen a comment mentioning LotRO.

Imo LotRO is a fantastic game that people just have forgotten...

I would be happy to hear your opinions.

What would you change in the game if you had the opportunity?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 03:21 AM PST

Anyone have any ideas? For example. it would be interesting for me to play instances with monster characters so that they can complete tasks and level up, as we do with free peoples.

Another idea: missions or instances at each location. In many Rohan locations (except for Helm's Deep) there is not a single instance, and it is gradually forgotten what was there. Scale all instances (eg Garth Agarwen, Moria. Isengard), make solo play possible. Access to instances after opening the location where they start.

    Scaling mobs in locations.

    Hey,

So I'm starting a new character from scratch. I would like to participate in the upcoming Yule Festival to get some Housing decorations.

Hence my question - at what level can I do this event?

    Thank you for a reply.

    Lesser Rings (High Elf items)

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 03:24 PM PST

So I've been playing a couple high elf characters recently, and I started wondering what the lesser rings of power that you get at the end of the intro meant. For instance, Gandalf's ring is Narya, the ring of fire. After some visits to online elvish dictionaries I have come to the following answers:

Nirya, the ring reward for minstrels, rune keepers, and lore masters is the Ring of Will, "nirĆ”" being Quenya for "will". This one's fitting since the primary bonus from this ring is to your will stat.

Tyelca, the ring for hunters and wardens, is Quenya for hasty. The Ring of Speed or Ring of Haste is a fitting title.

And finally Meletya, the reward for captains, guardians, and champions is the Ring of Might. (This is more likely but the Quenya word for love is also similar, so the Ring of Love isn't off the table).

Question for a new player starting out

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 01:57 PM PST

So I have played a few MMO's in the past. FFXIV till the end of Realm Reborn mostly as a healer or tank and WoW for a few months as a healer.

I recently heard of Lotro and am interested in giving in a shot. So I went on there website and got a bunch of quests for free. I just have a few questions while the game is downloading.

1)I enjoy playing as either a healer or a tank. Is it too late to get started as one of those classes in Lotro? One of my big problems with WoW was how toxic people were to me because I didn't know dungeon routes or mob placement and I refused to look, for the most part, because I feel like I should be allowed to enjoy the game without a guide by my side. I was playing a healer not a tank so I just had to follow along anyway.

    2) Should i just get the VIP membership? As a big fan of Lord of the Rings I am very excited to jump in and I noticed that the VIP membership has seem pretty good incentives.

    3) Is there any guilds that would be willing to help me out a noob player and what server should I play on? Which one is active and the one I would get the most help on if I need to do a dungeon for example.

Thank you for the help and can't wait to jump in and join you guys

Suggestions on a "to do list" before Moria drops on Treebeard?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 06:51 PM PST

    Hihi,

Recently hit 50 on Treebeard, am running around trying to finish the epic, just started the second half.

Asides from doing the epic qline, is there any other things I need to get done before Moria? Certain deeds or quest lines (I've done the class trophies) perhaps dungeons or raids, preparations and the like in terms of heading into Moria? Just not sure what to do in SoA!

    Thanks in advance.

    Beorning without the bear form?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 04:34 AM PST

    Hey,

I'm thinking about starting a fresh character. Beorning is the only melee class that I didn't try out yet.

I really like the idea of a class that uses a Two Handed axe however I'm not a fan of shapeshifting into other Animals.

Is there any Beorning spec in which I can stay in Man form 100% of time and don't use the bear form?

Is it viable to not use the bear form and DPS?

    Thanks for answers.

New Player Looking For Class and Kinship Advice

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 07:50 PM PST

Hey everyone! I apologize if this breaks sub rules, but in case it doesn't I was wondering if you guys would be willing to help me find my legs in LOTRO! :)

I've bounced around to a bunch of MMOs over the years, mostly due to not finding a community to settle in with that lasted. Based on the info I could find I was interested in Captain, Loremaster and Burglar because I love the idea of being a multi-purpose support class. But I'm having a hard time finding definitive guides and info. Do any of these classes have a lot of depth/high skill ceiling? Are they useful in all tiers of content/ useful to groups and kinships?

In terms of Kinships I rolled on Arkenstone as it seemed to be the most populated but I'm open to rerolling if needed. Are there any active Kinships that are able to help new players but are still active in endgame PvE?

    Thanks everyone for your time,

    Best wishes!

    Question about 120 Valar.

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 01:07 AM PST

Hi everyone, I was looking in getting the 120 valar but I'm unsure what is still to be unlocked in game if I get it. My plan is to use it and then go visit all the zones I haven't seen on my main character but I don't actually want to do the content in these zones or do the entire epic again, will I still have to do ‏‏‎ that to unluck content locked behind the epic or would my 120 character be fully good to go and do the 120+ content straight away?

    Rune Keeper/ other paywall classes

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 12:37 AM PST

From what I'm reading in the description of rk in the lotro store it says included with mines of Moria expansion? Or am I just dumb and it was saying this class was introduced during this period. I just recently bought the 99 sale expansions and want to play rk but figured I would get it included. Any answers would be helpful!

    Purpose of Crafting Guilds now?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 09:57 AM PST

A little back story: I've always slow-played LOTRO and haven't quite gotten past lvl 100, so I've only seen the benefit of Crafting Guilds as giving you the ability to craft the perfect first or second age legendary weapon.

Now with the LI changes, there's no point to crafting LIs anymore, so what's the purpose of Crafting Guilds now, specifically weapon related crafting? I presume there's some unique recipes at higher tiers but just haven't gotten there yet.

New player wanting to get set up

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 04:12 PM PST

Sorry for format in advance, I'm on mobile. I want to start playing with all these Black Friday deals but don't know what I should purchase or need to get the best bang for my buck. I am on steam so I have heard that doing things purchasing wise is a little different? I basically want to get as much content or expansions as I can while this sale is going on. Is it where you buy the latest expansion and you get all previous or each one is individually sold? How much am I looking at spending if I want to get as many expansion and quests as I can get. Thanks all for any answers I appreciate it!

Trying to get my account back but won't get any answers or find any solutions

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 08:05 AM PST

    Hey all!

I used to play lotro back in the days, but when I started uni in 2011, I didn't have time anymore. Recently, I've been interested in coming back and during the years, I suppose lots of things have happened. Not least, the game was transferred from Turbine to SSG, but at the time of the migration, I didn't look in to it.

I thought that if I ever wanted to play again, the account would've still been there, but now I've realised that may not have been the case. Tried to log in to my account for the first time since 2011 - 2012 (or something) but it didn't work. Nothing I've tried have worked - tried to reset password, reset username, tried several different e-mails (although I'm sure which one I used for my lotro account) and so on, and finally, eleven days ago, I raised a ticket to try and get support. Still no answer from SSG about my account...

Has anyone else had this problem, and did you solve this issue? I would really want to try the game again but I'm starting to lean towards giving up...
