    I will discuss of what I personally believe regarding multiple topics shall be broken in not so overly long fragments mayhaps expanding or not yet I do not know.

    I wish to express my personal belief and opinion regarding usefulness of slow levelling and steady progression: Tis but a personal preference. A longer read ahead - You may find a few tips and advice for newer players as well. I also added few more tips that could be potentially of use.

    I have Recently reactivated my VIP {Subscription} after months of absence. I decided to remain loyal to Shadows of Angmar as much as High-Elvishly and Humanly possible therefore I have set certain rules for myself: - No horse Until Level 35. Progression through Epic Volume I And zones in following fashion: The Ered Luin - Bree-Land -Shire- Lone Lands - North Downs and so on...

    Read every quest you stumble across ,even the most mundane and insignificant ones. Get most of the each zone without rushing like a Ram from the Iron-Hills. Twas always about adventure. Shun away the grind and urge for mindless monotonic instance or "end-game" torment.

    - Now, one must wonder, what are the benefits of all? More than you can possibly imagine, Firstly traversing without the horse gives a new player at least a bit of taste on how natural general progression felt in ages past when Store did not existed nor was possible to buy a mount before level 35.

    - Naturally one's journey feels longer and more complete. Strange things , bizarre gloomy yet creatures, awe-inspiring locations, quests or players discovered/met along the way.

    - Maximum content for value. To get most of your VIP and zone I believe every player should attempt to explore and finish off and clear deeds. I wish to express the "clearing" which is not about smashing, cleaving or pummelling armies of foes and monsters ,but taking your time to sight-see , Absorb and learn about highly intriguing lore and complete Exploration deeds. In case you have not payed attention so far if you scroll over certain Deed long under your Deeds and there is usually an explanation in each section be that Race&Social, Class, Slayer-deed etc. Setting a plan and progressing more deeply and in depth will reward thee with a greater experience, knowledge of game and in particular lore granting a sense of self satisfaction ultimately.

    - Fun? Impossible to answer and I can not be. A relative subject, Sometimes "a little can go very long way" Player A sees a fun contrasting to a Player B Role-player or K PVP-er or someone mainly focused on clearing off group instances. Tis pointless to discuss a concept of fun.

    - Lord of the Rings Online was never nor should be aimed primarily on hitting the max level. The Nature of MMO is always flowing it virtually never ends yet First time journey is priceless nor can be ever be repeated thus I want to express importance and how to make it more suitable.

    - Tis a shame to skip any Epic story {Volume or Black book or any other Main quest} or region quest-line arc. There exist a gigantic amount of well written ,funny ,somewhat odd and extremely informative amount of information related to the in-game lore connected solely to LOTRO created to expand mystery and additional tales which is unrelated to the official Legendarium.

    - Of Valar packages and Inevitable mistakes newbie players do on a daily basis. I think fundamental problem lies in impatience and desire to rush and see the world and as such one can in shortest period of time bypassing, destroying immersion and natural proper progression. The natural progression ,you may wonder of all reasons and justifications particular player-base will blindly and instantaneously often in forever defend developers or other players stating clearly "It is your money your call" Do what you want, whereas they do or do not. Having first-time adventure is priceless and it cannot be repeated thus making first time everything and impression can be extremely crucial. Following updates, expansions ,regions and learning your class whilst travelling in zones in an appropriate order ,taking most of each and reading lore or completing books will fell far more satisfactory than clicking Valar and being immensely overpowered by a lot off quests, gear and teleported to other zone with vide variety of skills ,mail etc leading to confusion and not know what to start or where to go. Take my advice and embrace other way. Do it from beginning. You will be thankful one day.

    - Little bit extra - but not a necessity. World chat can be extremely distracting, increasingly annoying on occasion and even toxic or calamitous {Depending on server of Topic involved} ,while helpful you are using it at your risk. Easily addictive as well - Do not fall in trap - Mayhaps you will spend hours chatting instead of playing which ironically becomes a reality for certain individuals.

    - I believe coming now as 14 year old player that LOTRO's true qualities lie {and they always did } in extraordinary power of visualising landscapes in particular Audio and Visual score and very impressive for 2004 Engine? Nonetheless the game captures Arda {A Quenya word for World} exceptionally well. Other core strengths are Quality of Story and massive amount of lore that did not disappointed ever since The Launch day. Writing in general ,very evidently seen in older zones is coherent, detailed. You can notice passion that was put in. Once a wise man said LOTRO has a "soul" It might be interpreted in a different way, yet I m convinced it does not a further explanation for those who played LOTRO long enough.

    - A team-work I suggest sooner or later. I can perfectly comprehend a desire to progress alone ,but these days mostly everyone wants to do everything by themselves, understandably but quite miss-leading breaking the logic and central aspect of MMO in a first place. You cannot do everything and your tales will be lonely without companions. Surely you can if you wish to put in way you want to, but grouping was always a heart of any Multi-player game ,be that LOTRO or nay. You are missing a lot. Tolkien called his world a "Secondary World" The world he created. Your journey will be forged and decided by decisions and course you take before you even set a foot or create a character. Details do matter, otherwise I would not write it at all. I am largely putting my experience in words and telling how to proceed to have best possible experience there is.

    - Tis ultimately your world and freedom. Yes, yours we all perceive and progress Your concept of beauty and ugliness - Your concept of good and Evil. Do not make it an ideal world - What is the meaning of these words? Ideal in way of potency or simplicity . A challenging more immersive or complex approach is always more rewarding ,fulfilling even so in our {yours} virtual imaginary world of LOTRO or real life, at least coming from my own outlook and way of seeing things. The Post perhaps will be expanded in near Future or I may re-visit it should I think of something else.

    - For the end I wish to emphasise that your goal should not be the power, domination as all men are easily seduced by it. What I am going to stress in current sentence may or may not be easy to understand or someone will not take it seriously , because they do not take gaming seriously? However when I say power in a sense in takes away other beautiful features game can offer , I mean to say the end game content, grinding and way to obliterate someone or something is not everything LOTRO has to offer. Its in our nature to progress , Power is attractive and wealth too , authority as well, yet small kind deeds keep forces of darkness at bay.

    I tried to update some plugins I use, but the Lotro Interface Plugin Compendium was down, so, ok, will play a bit, I thought, I can update when the server is up again. Important to mention that I'm coming back to Lotro after a loooong pause, almost three years, so I'm not sure if it's something permanent or just an issue lately. Also, their website is down.

    And now the game itself is down, but I imagine they are fixing something and will be up soon enough.

    It will not change anything at all nor Cheap Artificial Lazy Difficult boost - Legendary servers are completely identical to Regular servers and one of the biggest elaborate scams in which they lured players for VIP-Milk Money grab with False promises and basically copying same things with miss-lead "classic" content that never happened. Furthermore having Treebread being "slower" is another blinded fact because there is absolutely nothing new or inovative. Players will bored to hell after rapidly hitting to 50 that same thing can be done on your Regular server. It baffles me how players are easily conivinced and lured in, Alas. Same inevitable doom awaits both of them as it happened to Anor and Ithil. Tis your bitter reality. You may as well to flame me to Oblivion and beyond and provide Fake Internet Points. I care not I came here to present you the facts and truth.

    Today I shall say more than a few words Regarding Difficulty options, a great miss-leading allure of "Legendary servers" Myths and History of Lord of the Rings Online.

    Of Legendary servers, difficulty options and enormous changes that follow.

    I dot expect post will receive a lot of positive feed-back Tis a hard cookie to swallow and eventually comprehend, Why is that? Well , Let us first be completely open ,straight-forward and honest because I always Am and always will be with faith and resolve firmer than foundations of very Stars and only way to provide an insight was to inevitably be 100% honest there was no way and never will be.

    -IMPORTANT BEFORE YOU READ-

    - I myself love deeply game but that does not mean I wont' stand if I find something is off and will state my firm opinion ,EVERYTHING I STATE here is PRIMARILY to warn players, give an insight and explain why my different views when it comes to certain aspects. Thank you for understanding. I love many aspects from lore point, fascinating story, characters , the world design, aesthetics and tis game I spend now almost decade and half of my life as you saw from my previous threads - however why I stay silent and idle? I will not. There are times you have to change outlook too.

    Your personal dislike and views should not make any difference. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

    - CRITICS are not necessarily bad - They are useful it shows you care about game and can eventually improve.

    Let me start with following and if you do not want take an advice from nearly 15 years old Veteran that knew every period inside and out ,feel free to do so -

    1) A Legendary server is and will stay as one of the greatest mistakes if not failures and milk grab ever done - be good or bad intention with false promises of improvement and inevitable doom that followed leading for Permanent Ithil closure, severe population drop and mess with transfers that will doom Anor sooner or later.

    2) THE DIFFICULTY IS NOT GOING TO WORK - I cannot stress on how important current factor is. -

    - Let me attempt to emphasise and elaborate to those who either -

    do not remember

    had no knowledge nor have played in Ancient days of game

    are miss-lead in general.

    The Shadows of Angmar and Mines of Moria have had entirely different combat system , absence of Legendary weapons, Store, completely untouched world, Combat speed, old virtues , Original skills , The foes and monsters were not touched nor revamped. Countless, thousand of little CHANGES HAVE SPOILED and INEVITABLY CHANGED now pay close attention to this:

    IN DEPTH ,IMERSION AND QUALITY - SIMPLY AND LAZY ARTIFICAL BUMP UP OF ARMOUR, MORALE AND RAW DAMAGE WITH ABSURD NON CURABLE DOTS AND SAME RIDICULOUS dread system having an elk with million morale with Eye of Sauron is mockery and slap in the face.

    You will torn apart by tediousness. It will not make game harder, it will make it more frustrating and longer to beat your foes.

    The game already gives you certain ways to crush your opponents with ease -

    Extended melee ranged 5,2 meters , Certain ways to slow permanently , extremely fast attack speed, self heals, incredibly short CD'S and so on...

    Fundamental aspects have to change but they never will because the only way to return Original quality and challenging content is to RETURN CLASSIC SERVER I WILL FURTERMORE EXPLAIN WHY -

    3) NOTHING BEATS CLASSIC -

    First the game-play of old times was a hardcore ,pure , original ,long and ardours journey that required skill, patience, knowledge of your foes and world, cunning ,team-work, special setup, weapon type damage, resistances ,build etc.

    The core aspects now are changed, What you will get with your new Legendary servers is ENTIRELY SAME SYSTEM OF CURRENT VERSION WITH A PURE MASSIVE BUMP UP OF FOES VALUES changing nothing else at all.

    -Classic is the only answer if you want true LOTRO experience with

    - Weapon speed of particular weapon types such are axes, swords, daggers, maces

    - Buying skills at trainer, No trait system, No store, no Mount until 35

    - Complete immersive experience since very start with gradually adding updates as they were from April 2007 to Book XIV before Moria release.

    -Zero touch to original weapons , armour ,class deeds, Slayer deeds and Deeds in general

    - No skirmish camps

    - No Warden,Beorning,Rune-keeper class.

    TO SUM IT UP THE GAME CODE THE GAME MUST BE ABSOLUTELY SAME as it was when it was released - then and only then we can talk about true experience with natural progression and untouched world filled with dangerous yet perfectly balanced landscape offering solo ,small group and fellowship option.

    - EVERY CLASS MADE SENSE, Nobody had enormous DPS,

    - No Finesse rating which made it so easy to bypass block,parry evade and overall defences of your enemies

    - Much lower mitigation return to older Common ,Fire, Frost ,Shadow

    And Wound, Poison ,Fear, Disease

    Nowadays you have Simplified Tactical/Physical mitigation and overall resistance rating that made ie far easier to made character stronger in each of these mentioned

    - There was no need , If you recall there was no tiers , no buffs no need to for experience gain, It was already done masterfully , Shadows of Angmar alone Code is that is needed for players to experience a true challenge guaranteeing you will feel miserable , weak and under extreme threat forcing you to observe your surroundings and group up in a enjoyable way not tedious not with foes having billion HP or potential one shot. THERE WAS DEPTH AND CRAZY to say realism that it was it was challenging ,rewarding , but FAIR.

    you will have Original Annuminas

    Untouched Bree-Land with Old Haudh Iarchirh ,Angmar etc and many other examples with gradual add on off Evenduim Forcohel, Tal Bruinen and Eastern Part of Misty mountains and two Ancient now raids.

    Same mobs, same damage, same Elites,Elite masters , Rare shard droppers

    - SAME CRAFTING THAT HAD FAR FAR more complexity and took longer to finish with special quests to undertake

    -Legendary books and class quest will play much bigger role

    -Traveling to instance , going on foot will make it a true adventure

    -FOG OF WAR adds more mystery and unknown and it was a great way.

    - Full verisons of instances

    NO INSTANCE FINDER that will make it progressional and natural.

    You will HAVE TO USE curatives, Hope ,Scrolls ,Crafted Food

    - There will be dread impact upon defeat up to +4 maximum Witch king depending on zone and level.

    - You journey will feel incredibly long from 1-50 no needing

    - You wont be spoiled by Store, Mihril travel, boosts, all kinds of buffs etc

    - YOU WILL EXPERIENCE ,FEEL HEAR AND IMMERSE THYSELF 100% OF WHAT LUCKY PLAYERS NOW HAVE HAD. A complete and entire Original Vanilla experience WHICH IS UNBELIEVABLY MORE DIFFERENT than Modern LOTRO.

    Forget about "Legendary servers and these new difficulty options and slower progression ,it died out and I will die out again. Even on Ithil players levelled insanely fast with slower XP it wont do nothing because everything is faster ,simplified , tweaked , easier with extra travel routes ,options, classes are God s compared to older days.

    AS I HAVE SAID AGAIN - MASSIVE CHANGES FOLLOWED IN PAST 13+ YEARS SINCE LATE 2008. Its not game you knew and will never be.

    4 ) LEGENDARY SERVER IS YOUR SAME SERVER with " cheap XP half ,slower XP gain and absurd difficulty add ons that will take eons to finish it ULTIMATELY Making your overall experience -

    more frustrating

    tedious

    un-original

    Boring

    lacking immersion, absurd, depth ,quality ,creativity

    takes eons to kill off mobs

    not fundamentally changing any core aspects at all

    wont make a difference and tis another trap with 2 new servers to milk VIP's and money inevitably perishing in the process

    Realistically how many players do except to undergo such a process? Very very few and it destroys your enjoyment.

    CONCLUSION -

    True tis ,monumental work is required, pretty much impossible but the only way one can have true ,original ,proper and immersive experience is to have untouched 2007/2008 version of game otherwise all what you will gain will be nothing but a very poor and futile attempt WITH again false promises , allure and closure that without any doubt will happen. Having a server with 8 MONTHS OF being 50 or 4 WONT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE BECUASE ITS SAME AND PLAYERS WILL HIT 50 WITHIN 2 WEEKS AND THATS IT or less. Same old ballad repeats.

    Tis incomprehensible for players that never played or will defend developers or game, but I hope by now you at least will acknowledge ,accept or do not accept whatever what other people have different views and played far more or have greater insight how things were and what direction it has to go and also how it was.

    Do not go to Legendary sever because tis a mistake and you already have what you need on Regular sever. The only way to experience regarding difficulty and originality , immersion is to have true classic vanilla sever. I may or may not return to update it again.

    ARMY OF ONE CHAPTER ONE - LIMBAIREDHIEL VS SCION OF UDUN - Ithil, December 2018

    Brief Introduction -

    Welcome to the first chapter regarding Army of One Series in which I will share in Depth and through guide and explanation with a central focus on Guardian class at lower levels, primarily 50 at 60.

    The Guardian class will be either in Fighter of Shadow or Defender of the Free Peoples line.

    The Guardian is of High Elven race. Female.

    {Army of One} was taken as an inspiration from quest in Gath-Forthnir. Tis a quest to take down Udunion. I have used the same name for my Stream, You-tube and I was a part of the official LOTRO-Stream once in Early 2019.

    I will share my triumphs, clashes, battles and Legendary duels against most powerful servants of Evil. I decided to test myself against Rogmul Udunion. Here is the Tale of Limbariedhiel a Star in the Night - A fragmet from Legendary server Ithil.

    What changes followed and what truly changed since I took down Rogmul?

    The most significant change will be a morale boost of foes. As for damage and their resistances I have not noticed anything. Udunion now for instance has 139,000 HP. In video he had 109,000. Some of the level 50 gear received few tweaks , they revamped virtues and Guardian class received certain damage boost in dozen of skills.

    There are ways you can make it tougher ,longer and more challenging overall by not using certain boosts, buffs or Essence, Lootbox gear / Legendary weapons at 50.

    STEP ONE: Proper Approach, Knowledge of your class, correct skill rotation and Mindset.

    One must be ready to take risk and stand firm against your foe. Do all what you can and be persistent. Having positive approach and desire ,you are already half way in.

    I stood loyal to older days and refrained from using Essence gear, lootbox jewellery or Legendary weapons at 50,Yea it can be done already at 45. I did not used hope token to make more difficult. I really suggest you do use hope.

    STEP TWO: Fighter of Shadow stance - is the most complete and versatile stance giving one power to stand almost anything the ability to slow, Buff/de-buff, self-heal, reflect, cure, potent AOE with variety of skills and powers to handle any scenario thrown at your even unexpected. Fighter of Shadow truly represents the incredible solo potential of a Guardian that is my personal favourite line of all class in Lord of the Rings Online.

    - 34 class trait is the max amount at level 50 if you complete class deeds and collect books plus 1 class quest at 50.

    - Follow setup I used in video with Combination of Raid/Crafted Jewels and Armour.

    - Use everything you have on disposal Hope, Trail food, Scrolls and if its required. Tome of Defence and Rejuvination potions. After all you are not taking on some mindless group of elites but Arch Nemesis in six man instance at level plus Udunion should be underestimated. He is a terrible foe and there are multiple ways to wipe with ease.

    STEP THREE: Battle -

    IMPORTANT: Make sure to Have Staff of Dark shadows and use it on left blue luminous circle after he says Shadow take you to avoid massive attack. A lot of RNG plays in clash. You cannot be in three places. Shadow one seems to be most frequent. Come Dark fire will heal him, but you have no choice but to fight on.

    Dark of Shadows staff is obtained by killing of one of the sorcererses,

    WARNING: LEAVING INSTANCE WILL AUTOMATICALLY DESTROY STAFF leaving you to repeat all once again.

    One must vigilant and fast. Keep an eye on his dots, cure any with Ignore pain ,but make sure to have power potion and enough in combat power regeneration, Tis important to lure him after some time at circle he will come to you. Make sure to pay attention to video closely to skill rotation and movement. Timing is important and speed , one mistake can cost you life here, especially with not removing dot or not using Staff.

    6/6 Rift raid armour set will have now passive 30% shadow damage negation.

    Once you gain momentum here its mix of your own skill, RNG and speed , all at once. Sometimes you be unlucky and he will spam Dark fire and Burn too, but you cannot defend against both burn and Shadow however high critical defence and tactical mitigation will greatly mitigate attack.

    - Extra tip switch to Two handed sword for massive in combat regeneration if you get in trouble with power.

    - Be old fashioned school and buy curatives ,Fear and Wound,

    - +5 Hope crafted and store will negate any negative Dread impact.

    - Learn to cut off animations with using for instance as I do one skill follow by another immediate skill. Such is War chant + ignore pain or Sweeping cut +stamp.

    "Hill Defender" two handed sword or "Flame tongue" have nearly 3000 in combat power regeneration

    To not dragging it out rest can seen in video. No matter of your gear it takes practice and will to do it, time especially. You cannot expect to go there and vanquish him in a simple manner especially if you are new or never did these type of challenges. It takes great deal of preparation.

    About fight and my personal reflections and experience of past -

    Udunion in Ancient days used to be one hardest and most complex fights involving excellent team work and proper preparation, The boss design is incredibly cool and intimidating. Barad Gularan at 50 in 2008 was not an easy instance, not at all.

    I hope you have enjoyed the clash which I did dozen times and truly is epic to try it out alone. These fights require constant vigilance and focus and its a perfect training.

    LORE and extra information -

    The Udunion can be translated as Scion of Udun. Sindarin for Scion of Udƻn - However creature is not a servant of Sauron, but an Ancient Evil. If you saw my previous post regarding Rift of Nurz Ghashu in which I explained the Ancient Evil origin you shall know.

    Regmyl Plural. S. Rogmul - are mighty demons of fire and shadow who are or were often servants of the even greater Balrogs. Tis true. One can visualise Rogmul as a lesser Demon ,a mini Balrog , however these lesser versions of terror are extremely powerful and can pose grave threat to free peoples.

    At the dawn of the world, many powerful spirits chose to serve Morgoth, the first Dark Lord. Of these, perhaps the greatest were the Balrogs, the Demons of Might.     Therefore it must not be mistook that Minor or Lesser or Smaller in Tolkien's Legendarium are weak, absolutely not. Do not let the world Lesser deceives you - For comparison - Maiar are the lesser servants of Valar but of SAME Race, Ainur, Even the weakest of Maia is extraordinarily mighty and can cause untold amount of damage, sorrow and complications that change the world for thousands of years.

    Don't waste your money.

    I wasted my money on this trash worthless game. I bought 4 expansions and only played 1, mines of moria, before the game just wont let me patch or play. It just gets stuck on patching. Haven't been able to get in game for 13 days. Apparently its just that way with the "old" client and you have to use the 64 bit client. Well I tried getting the new client. ALSO gets stuck. Completely deleted and redownloaded. STILL GETTING STUCK.
