| Posted: 28 Jun 2021 09:57 PM PDT Hey all, excited to check this game out again and introduce my friend to it. I played way back at launch as a captain if I remember right, remember doing the first raid in the frozen zone area that had different like wings to it. I remember a giant spider boss and then a big dragon in the central area as the final boss? Buddy is wanting to play a Hunter. I realize the game can mostly be soloed now from what I understand (absent any tweaking with the difficulty slider they are introducing) but any recommendations on best class to play with him? I'm thinking a healer or tank type would be best to help with any group type content we run into. Any thoughts? Thanks!! [link] [comments] | ||

I ahve been trying to find a good explanation as to what the 'legendary server' ruleset is. I understand treebeard is -XP and shadowfax is +XP. But i also read about selecting a difficulty rating? Anyone have a link / can give an explanation as to what this is about? Seems strange that there would be variable difficulties. Also any EU-RP guilds rolling on Treebeard? [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 28 Jun 2021 08:46 PM PDT I would say Treebeard will be initially but due to how SSG's version of "Classic" content is handled it will die out quickly. Yet Shadowfax will allow a lot of us to experience the content we missed but at a faster interval. It's kinda what I wanted for FF14 but will never get. Shadowfax sounds more like a catch-up server rather than a Legacy server, which I think was properly advertised would be somewhat successful. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 28 Jun 2021 07:16 AM PDT I've dabbled in the game several times before and have a lvl 24 captain, but I have to admit I'm not a fan of the fetch & kill side quest design. I love the landscapes and the social aspect, I love the epic storyline and some of the side quests are alright too, but even at lvl 24 I found it quite tiresome to do all those kill quests in lone lands. I do however have the quest pack that was given for free last year, as well as all expansions up to Mordor. Because of that, I'd still like to experience the storyline. I was thinking of getting the Aria of the Valar, only that the asking price is insane - I have no choice but to buy 50€ worth of coins for a level boost. Am I doing this wrong? Is there an cheaper way to boost a character than to shell out AAA game's worth of money for an mmo boon? Also, since you guys are the pros here, is it even worth it? Maybe there is a way to avoid doing every side quest in order to get to the good bits? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 28 Jun 2021 11:44 PM PDT Used to play on Imladris a lot, back in the day. The nostalgia factor of seeing my old Champion is pretty much the only reason I would come back. From what I've read, I understand things got messed up with the old data and that there is little interest with the current devs to try and recover it. I know its been asked to death, but is there really no hope for a return for the old characters? I can't imagine that it's an insignificant number of players that would come back if the option was there. [link] [comments] | ||

The classes that interest me are Warden, Hunter and Champion. I think I have a warden around level 50 but im not sure I am not too sure. Champion looks like a good go to DPS class but doesn't have the teleport skills. Any advice helpful. I plan to just level up through all the quest and expansions etc solo. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 28 Jun 2021 09:12 AM PDT Hello all, I played LOTRO quite a bit back from the beta all the way through moria. I just recently wanted to get back into it but I discovered that my account was banned sometime in the interim. I sent support a ticket but didn't hear anything back from them after a couple of weeks so I opened a second. Then I heard that my first ticket was escalated and my second ticket merged. That was the last I've heard from support, in March. I've attempted to open a third ticket but I've gotten no response whatsoever. Am I basically out of luck or is this a typical response time for issues like these? [link] [comments] |
