Only lvl 50 valar option available for legendary servers?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 01:25 PM PST

Hey LOTRO community! I'm a returning player after many years of absence. I decided to create some new toons on Anor. I would love to take advantage of the current valar discount, but the only option is the level 50 valar. Why wouldn't the level 95 option be available since the current level cap is 95? Kinda bummed...

    Who uses a controller?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 05:40 AM PST

I've dabbled with using controllers to play LOTRO over the years with limited success (Wardens seem to do best as they've got fewer skills). I've recently bought myself an arcade stick for shmup purposes and am trying to think about how to make it work with LOTRO.

Any controller/joystick users out there? What's your plan?

A developer has gotten Windows running on the new Apple ARM M1 Macs!

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 12:10 PM PST

    From the Slashdot post:

Developer Alexander Graf has successfully virtualized the Arm version of Windows on an M1 Mac, proving that the M1 chip is capable of running Microsoft's operating system. From a report: Currently, Macs with the M1 chip do not support Windows and there is no Boot Camp feature as there is on Intel Macs, but support for Windows is a feature that many users would like to see. Using the open-source QEMU virtualizer, Graf was able to virtualize the Arm version of Windows on Apple's M1 chip, with no emulation. Since the M1 chip is a custom Arm SoC, it is no longer possible to install the x86 version of Windows or x86 Windows apps using Boot Camp, as was the case with previous Intel-based Macs. However, he said in a Tweet that when virtualized on an M1 Mac, "Windows ARM64 can run x86 applications really well. It's not as fast as Rosetta 2, but close."

So there is hope that LOTRO might be able to run on the new Apple hardware at some point, no telling yet what the performance will be like.

Launcher shows all server status closed, however.

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 11:21 AM PST

I checked a server status page (pingtestlive) and it shows them as online.

When I first got the game installed I was able to log on but logged onto the incorrect server so I quit and reopened the launcher and they all now say closed. Unusual.

I am using Windows 10, launcher direct from Lotro.com, I allowed firewall connections through private connections(desktop, it's the only one here). I live in Idaho, USA so I wouldn't think there'd be a conflict with an ISP blocking, especially since I was able to log in the first time.

I'm not sure what else to try tbh.

Downloding - Error generating has code

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 08:09 AM PST

Hey guys. Wanted to play LOTRO again after a long while. While downloading the game it gives me the following error code: 'There was an error generating the hash code for a patch file'

Did a google research and it sounded like a network problem. So I used a VPN, but that did not either.

    Anyone can help me out?
