    Hi, i've been playing for a few months, and recently (and quite surprisingly) convinced my gf to play lotro with me... What would you guys say are the best classes to play? Considering that It would be something totally new to her in general...

    What’s your fall fest plan?

    The first few days of a fest are all wonder and wandering for me, then I make a daily rotation to knock out the wrapper quests for all the sweet, sweet rewards. However this is my first fall fest in a long while so I'm not sure what the simplest rotation will be.

    Experienced festers (I hear it, sorry), what's your daily quest routine like for this season? What's the plan?

    Question about RP servers vs Regular ones, some talk about a "custom" class for my RP character, and some general LOTRO beginner questions

    Hello there

    I've been a long term fan of the game, I played it a tiny bit a year or two ago. Just did some question and eventually replaced the game with something else. However I feel as if I really want to get into the game now, but with this game being so big I have a few questions.

    1. How much Free to play is the game really? What I mean by this is when will I have to buy an expansion and what perks do I get with a purchase ingame? Also is there some sort of a bundle where I can simply buy everything that came out so far (I'm not really a big fan of buying stuff periodically)
    2. In terms of servers I'm divided between RP and normal ones. I think I read somewhere that even when playing on RP servers I don't have to actively RP and I can just play the game "normally" on the plus side the experience on the RP serves will be better since there will be no lore unfriendly names and the option to RP is always there.
    3. This one ties in to my character and what would be the best class for my RP choice. Now I know this is pretty basic but I would really like to RP as a Ranger of the North. I've done some research about classes and I guess the Hunter class would fit a Ranger the best. However while I like bows I like swords much better, so is it possible to have a Ranger-esque Champion? Also since there really is no Ranger class what would be the best closest thing possible?
    4. This ties directly into the question above but I wanted to separate it for easier reading. Naturally I would like to experience the game the "normal" way at the start to learn the ropes and perhaps gather the equipment needed for quality RP. So the question is are there any Rangers of the North RP groups or factions ingame I could look to join once I'm ready? Oh and btw I am from EU so that goes for EU RP server.
    5. I also had a complete different RP character idea and I was wondering if it would be possible. I wanted to make a simple hobbit character that would just spend time in the Shire doing everyday deeds (farming etc). Does the game offer enough content to be able to do that? Also is there a Hobbit community or something I could become a part of if I choose to do that as well?

    Those are all my questions, I've been a long time Tolkien fan and I'm really excited to start playing this game, I should say again but I've experienced so little in the first place that I might as well say I never played it. To anyone who takes the times to answer these questions I'm very thankful and I hope to have a good time in Middle Earth.

    Update

    I am not getting an option to update the game through the launcher., and I keep getting an error when I try to login through the launcher. Is this normal with updates or is there something wrong with my game now?

    Advice for Western Rohan?

    I'm not a million miles from stepping into Western Rohan with my Lvl 88 Hunter (should be 90 I think when I get there).

    I read on here a couple of weeks ago that difficulty increases significantly when I move across the border.

    My plan is to see what level I am when I'm ready to progress, and buy new gear at that level from the AH (will my Riddermark coins work in WR?)

    I tend not to fight mounted if I can get away with it. Will that work in WR? I have a feeling I may have invested to heavily in vitality through the game, (28k morale) hopefully that won't come back to bite me with weaknesses in other areas.

    Any other advice?
