Lvling: Can't you just counteract the "difficulty"(...) by fighting higher content? - For people wanting it more difficult.

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 01:55 AM PDT

Mae Govannen. I'm pretty new to the game. This is supposed to be a neutral discussion about how to, and experience gain vs different content, and not ought to be what you think about the difficulty to play the game (which would lead in either direction and away from the topic).

    Main Question:

Can't you just make yourself the game more Difficult (if it is too easy to you) by simply fighting stronger mobs and doing higher level quests?

Secondary: And do you think the developer should allow (=support) fighting higher mobs by allowing a decent experience gain from higher enemies? (not any other tweaks ofcourse)

Here is the summary of overall opinion about difficulty just for reference and background on the question, objective summary is: "it's mixed":

    Experience Penalty:
Before trying LOTRO I read some exp penalty sheet of the game (pretty new), stating how steep it is. Unfortunately I can't find it not so easily (if anyone knows...)

    64-bit client is amazing!

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 08:07 PM PDT

    Running i7 4790, 16GB ram, gtx 1080..

Just came back to the game, set everything to ultra, and added reshade. It looked great, but I found that in a lot of areas I was dipping as low as 40fps.

Switched to 64-bit client, and the lowest I have seen is 100fps. Most of the time it's 120+.

Just wanted to mention this in case anyone hasn't tried it. I didn't even know that it was an option for a while.

    Shield of the Hammerhand

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 03:08 PM PDT

Quick question for anyone that has Shield of the Hammerhand from the LOTRO store: does this bind to your character so you can only use it once, or are you free to move it across as many alts as you want to use it on?

My wife has recently started playing and is looking to group up occasionally, but there's little point on my high level. I want to speed level a couple of alts to her level (mid 40s) to play with her.

    Thanks!

New Player seeking advice on expansions to purchase

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 03:30 PM PDT

Hello, I am a new player and it seems I am late to the party. I wanted to start an account for me and one for my son to play. I don't have the funds to the $20 point packs on both right now, so I am planning on getting the 600 point bundles. Which of the 6 out of 7 expansions/ instances should I get and which should I not get for now, which the sale that ends today? Thanks in advance for the advice!

Came back from long break, can't find my server or characters

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 08:26 AM PDT

I logged in for the first time in forever to take advantage of the lotrofreequests deal but I don't recall what my old server was or how to get to my old characters. Are those just gone now? Is there a way to find my old characters or get access to them?

    Free Quest Packs question

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 08:36 AM PDT

Right, any way to do it OUTSIDE the game, or do must I do it from within the game(s)? I'd really like if I could nip/tuck this to my steam account.

Also, when's the absolute last time until it's available? Midnight PST or something?
