Is the overlapping Captain scream for High Elf fixed now ? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 03:03 AM PDT Previously the High Elf Captain had a bug which played his scream twice with one cast and it sounds so bad, especially when you consider that this is what you're going to listen to for 130 levels which is months and months of playing. It gets even more annoying when we add the fact that the High Elf has 2 versions - a scream and a sentense. The bug causes him to start speaking and screaming at the same time and when the two overlap it's just unbearable. [link] [comments]
Returning player - missing characters and quest packs/expansions Posted: 01 Jul 2020 12:46 AM PDT Hey, the coupon and the sale of some expansion packs made me redowload the game. I havent touched the account in years. The problem I have is that I played on a server that doesnt exist anymore, I am EU and played on Vanyar. I googled and read around a bit and found out that there is a problem with the transfer of dead server, thats characters dont show. The answers I found were months old though so maybe I am not up to date anymore or is still a problem? I dont even see the characters and server. The second problem I have is that it seems most of the content I got on the account is gone. The shop still shows me stuff I bought, for example Expansion quests Moria and the expansion. I leveled through at thoug on two or three characters. My account on myaccount.standingstonegames.com only shows me this: Signup Date 2/17/2012 Game Version History Shadows of Angmar™ Guest Shadows of Angmar™ Trial Mithril Edition So is the rest gone? Will it be back when/if I can access my old, higher level characters? Is there another way to check whats unlocked? My highest character I can still access is level 14 so I cant just check out if I can access the quests. [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Jul 2020 02:52 AM PDT I am aware that different weapon types are largely irrelevant in the game and that it is best to just go with whatever type of weapon your class/race gets benefits with. Nonetheless, since damage is the same between weapon types (they have the same attack speed too, right?), if those trait benefitss don't apply the only differentiation will be the other bonuses - swords help parry, maces slow down enemies etc. I notice some of those bonuses, such as daggers, say "on auto-attack". Am I correct in thinking that means it only applies using the base attack with no skills? That seems completely useless in a game where power basically never runs out. Why would I ever use auto-attack? Am I right in thinking that benefits axes, maces, clubs etc apply to all attacks, even skills? If so it seems that daggers and halberds got massively shafted on that. They could have at least gotten a higher magnitude to compensate for the fact it'll almost never actually apply. It also seems that a club reducing the enemy attack speed (and hence dps) by 40% (even if it is only occasional) is just way more useful than any other by an absolute landslide. There are some occasions that high parry chance may be good (guardian triggers), but even then it doesn't seem to come close to 40% less damage. Are clubs really that overpowered (when class/race advantages don't apply)? [link] [comments]
Changes to Guardian "Flash of Light" do not work as advertised Posted: 30 Jun 2020 08:42 PM PDT According to the patch notes:
Indeed the damage has been decreased. Whereas before the patch I was doing 10,081 to a given enemy, now I am doing 2,880 to that same enemy. If I equip a belt with +42% Light damage, I do 3,084 -- an increase of around 7%, not 42%. [link] [comments]
The only two dwarfs in the wedding Posted: 01 Jul 2020 12:22 AM PDT
Posted: 30 Jun 2020 05:15 PM PDT Simple question: Can you attend the wedding without having gotten up to that point in the story? Or is the wedding itself only a story quest and only the midsummer events can be done at any level? [link] [comments]
Midsummer Wedding quest question Posted: 30 Jun 2020 06:00 PM PDT I'm doing the amethyst lantern quest and have to place 2 of them in the Alcove - but I have no idea where/what that is. The Houses of Healers I was able to find, but I rode around the circle several times and got no clue about the Alcove. Anyone know what I'm supposed to be looking for? [link] [comments]
After seven years of playing the game I'll be finally able to go another quest path! Posted: 30 Jun 2020 09:37 AM PDT Being an F2P player for a very long time, my questing options were limited. As such, I could only farm for specific QPs, after having searched beforehand what was the ideal one for me. All of my characters had the same route: Starting Area, Bree, Lone-Lands, Evendim, some skirmishes in between, Forochel. I was a premium player by then, when I bought Moria, but couldn't spare money for the past regions. The free quests coupon rekindled my interest in creating a new character that will take a different path. That will go to North Downs, Trollshaws, Misty Mountains, Eregion, Angmar, places that I've visited only during the Main Quest. Apart from that, for the same monetary reasons I had to skip places like Lothlorien or Enedwaith, or some places in Gondor, which I'll also be able to explore. Having returned to the game after two years of absence, I also have to level up my main character to max level and try to grind some LPs for Minas Morgul, though I'll take my time. All in all, I'm really glad to be back (for once more) here! [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Jun 2020 05:38 PM PDT I got a new computer, downloaded lotro from steam, opened it up, it asked me to downloaded extra files, then it let me sign in. But it keeps closing immediately. I uninstalled it and re installed and same issue continues. Whenever i open it it asks to make changes to my device from lotrolauncher.exe. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Jun 2020 12:42 PM PDT So, just curious: since the wedding is Volume 5 Chapter 1 or something like that for the Epic Quest, does that mean that even if I don't go take part in all the wedding stuff now, that when I eventually finish Volume 4, I can start Volume 5 then and play the wedding quests and all that then? Or is this a time limited event? [link] [comments]
Most frustate I've been about the LOTRO Points system until now Posted: 30 Jun 2020 07:28 PM PDT

Posted: 30 Jun 2020 09:06 PM PDT So I started playing LOTRO today for the first time. Having fun so far, but I heard a few things about the game that made me a bit uncertain. I have a pretty severe case of arachnophobia, so hearing that giant spiders wander across most of Middle-Earth and that some can be as large as houses put me off a bit. I expected Shelob and her brood, just not, well, widespread broods. Is it as bad as it sounds and my arachnophobia will probably be a major detriment to me, or can I still enjoy the game and story and it's not that bad? [link] [comments]
Midsummer Festival: How to Climb Minas Tirith? Posted: 30 Jun 2020 01:54 PM PDT I feel like I must be missing something obvious, but I can't figure out how to get to the various tiers of Minas Tirith in the Midsummer Festival. The map takes me outside of the City Stables, but I can't find any gates to the other tiers, or to the spot where Aragorn is for the festival quest. What am I missing? [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Jun 2020 07:09 AM PDT I know it said 8a-12p EST, but I was able to get just a few mins ago after a (long) update. New festival is here! [link] [comments]
Few questions from a returning player Posted: 30 Jun 2020 08:03 PM PDT I played Lotro briefly back in 2012 and was considering returning now to try it out again. Here's my questions.
Thanks! [link] [comments]
Assistance with Raiding and Lag 2020 Posted: 30 Jun 2020 05:07 PM PDT Greetings all, So I've returned to playing LOTRO from initially pre ordering it from best buy at release in 2007. I've been playing and enjoying my warden since middle of March this year, and now at level cap. I previously raided in a high level guild in another big mmo for over a decade, so I am worried my standards for snappiness and responsiveness are just too high. I have a 900 meg download and upload off of a verizon fiber connection on the East Coast In the US. I have a consistent 17 to 32 ms latency. I have read through a few guides on how to reduce raid lag, but it has not helped me. As a warden, even using gambit builders, if I miss a beat could be disappointing for the personal performance. So to he clear I was getting 5 to 15 second straight screen freezes in an Anzil and Rem raid. My latency would still be solid. I have ran memory testing software, ran some stability tests in my hard drive, and am constantly monitoring temps as I play. No voltage issues on my machine either with the CPU or GPU. I am running a i7 6700 @ 4.0 ghz 32 gigs of memory ddr4 2060 Nvidia super card 1 TB SSD I've done a few tests lowering gfx settings but am still getting massive screen freezes. I do realize the game engine has its limitations etc and those topics have been beat to death..... just wondering if someone has any advice to fix the issue, as online resources I've seen are not benefiting me.
