| What's with all the unexpected vitriol targeted at other users on this sub lately? Posted: 23 Jul 2020 02:50 PM PDT I get that the servers are down and people are upset, but I am seeing a lot of people angrily posting here on this sub that don't ever engage with this sub otherwise and it's kind of bizarre for a couple reasons in particular: 1) These aren't the official forums so they are angrily screaming into an echo chamber 2) This sub is one of the nicest gaming communities I've ever come across, but the past couple weeks have uncovered some extremely angry (and I assume, based on the insults) young Redditors here. I was essentially called a cuckold and a Red Pill male in the same comment thread by two allegedly different users. The insults don't bother me, but the sudden shift in tone and what is acceptable on this subreddit *does*. Am I missing something here besides adults overreacting and losing their minds over a FREE video game? Before we get into paid subscriptions, clearly SSG will offer some form of reimbursement to those folks based on their own prior behavior. Go outside! (But wear a facemask.) [link] [comments] | ||

| Your unrealistic dreams for LotRO Posted: 24 Jul 2020 12:01 AM PDT The title says it, what's a feature/storyline/whatever that would go through the roof of all your expectations for LotRO (or the new Amazon MMO). As a cyclist and a lover of Middle-Earth, I'd love it if the game engine could somehow be connected to Zwift/Bkool/Rouvy/likewise services. It's already happened as a mod for GTA, and I'd think that it'd be really cool if it was somehow possible in SSG's Middle Earth world. Imagine cycling up the switchbacks when heading out from Rivendell, imagine coasting through the vase lone lands, imagine doing an interval training up the Minas Tirith ramps (this one really gets me going), imagine doing a lovely tour through the Shire. There's a lot of possibilities! I'd even be okay with the graphic being a horse whose speed you control. I know this is particularly farfetched, but I want this to be a thread for the dreamers. | Large Crafting Carry-on advice please. Posted: 24 Jul 2020 01:51 AM PDT The crafting carry-ons are at 35% off in the store this week so i decided to purchase to one for my explorer main. I was wondering, firstly, if it was worth getting a second carry-on as 50 slots, while a fair bit, doesn't quite cover all the gathered mats? Second, are there any non-obvious tips to using one? I've mostly been enjoying some tabletop gaming, either playing solitaire or reading up on RPGs I'll play later, such as: * Four Against Darkness * Treasure Awaits * Tiny Taverns An interesting thing I have noticed during this downtime is that I don't really want to play any other PC games š¤·♂️ guess I'm just a LOTRO addict again. I'm returning after several years and want to have a real go at end game content this time. My other question if anyone can help is which tank class is preferred? I used to play LOTRO a lot: from 2007 to 2013 (last thing I did was complete the first Rohan expansion) with maybe 6 players between lv 65-85. These were on the Snowbourne server. Obviously I've returned out of curiosity to have a look and this server is no more, instead Evernight seems the obvious choice. I understand there is a way of transferring characters, but currently it is unavailable? Effectively my questions are: 1. Is there anything else I can do to transfer my character, as I hope they aren't lost entirely? 2. What's going on with the game now? Is it still going strong? 3.
