    Hi there LOTR Online community. Very recently I learned that my godfather passed away due to complications with a knee surgery.

    Knowing that 90%+ of his local peer group doesn't play PC video games or simply as a hobby, I realized that there is a group of players out there whom he described as "a group I've been playing for a very, very long time with".

    So, knowing that I may be the one of the first of his friends (at least, in my understanding of how much people know about him) who understands how deep of a connection gamer groups actually go, I thought I'd post here in hopes that this news reaches his peer group. My other hope is that he made arrangements with his nieces to inform his group but I'm hedging the bets and reaching out here. In my opinion, it's better that they find out twice instead of never.

    Last I he told me, he and his friends played a LOT of LOTRO, so this is the first place I'm searching.

    Some information that would immediately identify him to his friends but not to anyone else.

    He was over the age of 60 & lived in Ottawa, Ontario and had a home (which was his parents before his) in North Bay. He very recently had knee surgery, and was primed to have a second knee surgery. He was a loving, eccentric individual whom supported the people he loved despite all despair and in my opinion had a really grounded view on the world. Finally, he always shared his huge pride for his Estonian ancestry when given the opportunity.

    If this description fits one of your friends in your close gamer groups whom recently hasn't been online, please send me a DM here on Reddit. I won't openly give out his information in respect to him, but if you could provide some obvious things about him (first/last name, details, etc.) I'll confirm or deny.

    Unfortunately (yet very intelligently) he absolutely refused to share with me his gamer handles. To be honest, I would do the same to keep the worlds separated since I totally understand how there's a digital world and a physical one.

    Thank you everyone who upvotes this, I'm going to finish this solid helping of bourbon and think of all the amazing things he's done with his life and how he succeeded for the rest of my evening.

    Most Bang For My Buck

    So I am a new player. Just like a lot of you I absolutely love Lord of The Rings. I took advice that I read on here to use the coupon code in the store as well as buy all the quests the were on sale for 99 LP. What should I get next? I have seen posts mentioning a premium wallet. But also heard of other things to carry stuff, so I'm a bit confused. My main goal is to just casually have fun and level a bunch of different characters. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

    Edit: So I bought Journeyman Riding Trait, as well as the premium wallet, Warden, & Timekeeper classes.

    Why can I not get into this game!

    I love MMOs and my favorite fandom is lord of the rings! So why can I not get myself into this game! I have played three of the starting intros and uninstall the game after that. Then I will see an article or something that says there was an update and I'm right back into the same cycle... :(

    How long did it take you all to get into it? Or did any plugins help?

    Need help! LOTRO STORE DOESN'T WORK

    Hey there I'm on Linux and my store isn't working, I'm a level 20 and I need a horse trait .Is there any way i can get the store working/get the trait through a mission (I'm a free player) . It is really irritating to walk around everywhere. Thank you :)

    Hello everyone. I've been working on leveling my RK in order to join in on PVMP. I've been told that I will need gear from Shelob to do this. Another also told me that I will need rep gear before even attempting to run Remm. So my question is, where do I find such gear? Where can I find the starting quests for these areas?     I have a huge problem with treasure caches

    I mean, they dint contain much in the way of actual treasure. Why is this? Shouldnt they contain valuables scaled to the area, since you can only do them once?

    New player thoughts so far

    So I starting playing this morning, chose High Elf with Champion class, home of Gondolin. I am currently level 16 and trying to do every quest I can, cuz that was the best stradegy in SWOTR, that way you never fall behind the main class story level requirement. This is what I'm thinking happens, depending on which race you play, you have a different prologue? Then I'm assuming at some point once the prologue is done, you make your way to Rivendell to join to Fellowship?

    Or is the main story not the fellowship's story?

    Worn Ranger Set

    It says on the wiki that you can buy this set from the mannequins and from lalias market (and get it as a reward from Volume 3/5/1). However I cant seem to find it anywhere? I looked at the mannequins in Bree and browsed lalias market, but its not there.

    Lootboxes..?

    So I started playing after 5 years and reached level 39, and I already have over 40 (?!) lootboxes from just playing. The keys seem very expensive at 900 LP per 5 keys, is it even worth opening the boxes? I don't remember them dropping as often 5 years ago, so not sure what to expect. They are flooding my vault so I'd like to know if it's worth keeping them or not :) Thanks!

    help me decide my next char

    hello all

    my main is a 130 champ,i have a 121 hunter,124 warden which I love,a valared 121 captain (i had one previously reaching level 57).I got the lotro points now to buy a valar boost that is on discount for 2 more days i think,and i am torn between runekeeper and beorning (i have all classes bought and unlocked and i am lifetimer from codemasters era).I am not in the mood of playing a healer like minstrel or lm,because i know i will suck at them.Any thoughts in burglar also? guardian not please,i really want to make some damage,i dont have the patience to hit a mob for 15 minutes till i kill it.

    Few questions about using Valar on Captain

    I am planning to buy a 120 valar on a captain to take advantage of the current sale and got a few questions:

    • What virtues should I pick on the Captain?
    • What LI should I choose from the 120 valar pack? Should I choose the yellow line for tanking or should I choose the red line so I can play as red support Captain until I get my tanking gear ready?
    • How difficult is it to pick up a level 120 captain from level 1?
    • I heard in terms of racial bonus, man is better than high elf because of the +incoming healing, is that still true?
