Is 2H with a Champion Viable

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 01:41 PM PDT

Have one class slot left, wanted to make a toon that uses 2Handed weapons, a bow and heavy armor. I'm deciding between Guardian and Champion. I know Yellow Line Guard is perfectly viable right now but I know next to nothing about champ except that in general they are in a bad spot and are dual wielding tornadoes of death. Is using a 2H viable with champ?

Why do these characters have different poses on the character select screen, when they're both female elves? What else does it depend on?

How should I go about continuing my playthrough?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 06:59 PM PDT

Started this game a few years ago and absolutely loved it. Put about 80 hours into it but carried on hitting pay walls :( i got to rivendell following the human story line and that's where the quests ended unless I paid. I only ever joined a fellowship once or twice and didn't really get how it worked but just loved the story line and the way it felt so cannon and respectful to Tolkien's work. I would happily pay £50 to just have the game single player to play through but I know that's not an option. I don't really know where to start with all the quest packs etc, does anyone here have any suggestions on how I can go about getting back into this game ?

    Coming back

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 12:01 PM PDT

    Hey guys

First post on Reddit in general as well as this page!

I spent a lot of years between the ages of 9-16 on LOTRO, with a few times back on since. Game has probably totally changed but I'm hearing there's actually loads of people on and it isn't dead by any stretch of the imagination.

Any tips for getting back into it? The only really high-ish level character I ever had was a man hunter who got to Mirkwood but never quite max level apart from once when the cap was 65 I think.

One thing I'm thinking of in particular: is it still worth farming loads of enemies for traits as you go through, spending time doing deeds in each region? Or am I best just levelling up as fast as I can? Used to have a weird obsession with completing every quest just so I felt I had completed it properly.

Also - any ideas which class is best for soloing? I was thinking guardian or warden might be best... or maybe champ?

    Cheers!

Been away a while, is the Mac version better than it was?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 11:09 AM PDT

I recently grew curious about this game again. Last time I tried installing it, it was just after the switch from a native Mac client to a Wine client, and there was some difficulty and weird workarounds needed to get it to even install and play. Does anyone know if this has been improved since then?

    Warden UI layout tips

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 03:17 AM PDT

    Hi

I used to main a warden and LM on brandywine back in the Dol Amroth days, and now I'm leveling a fresh one on Arkenstone. Any advice on a comfortable layout for skills?
