Great Time For Leveling & Playing Those Older Instances!

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 10:17 AM PST

With the XP Bonus weekend it is great time to get some levels or create a new character! We're a kinship that is running level 50-65 instances using capped level characters that we are leaving behind so we can continuously run those older instances. We have had quite a few interested people who love the idea so come on out! Run some of those older instances like The Rift, Helegrod and The Moria instances! Come join a group of players who love the older stuff and would love to have more people come join. We have enough now to start running Carn Dum and have a few more coming up through their 20's, 30's and 40's! We'll gladly help you get through virtues, rep, books and the Epic Battles for class points. Grab one of your old alts or get back into LOTRO and start the journey for the first time. We'll help anyone learn and play.

PM me if interested to get a Discord invite or find one of us in-game.

I'm level 5 and ive played this before years ago. Is it worth playing still. I don't want "kill 5 spiders" and come collect rewards or "go find 5 plants". When does the game get good and your able to go to moria for example? Im a newbie and wanna know how much content In the game is actually not "basic" missions? Thanks

Couple of questions from a LOTRO newbie.

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 02:57 AM PST

    Greetings

This will be a bit of a long-ish post so beware.
So, after a bit of thinking I decided to get into LOTRO, again. I decided to give it a second try after not really enjoying it on my first one. Now here are a few of my questions that if answered could and probably will help me enjoy the game that much more:

    1. I want to make a character that will be (or at least RP) a Ranger of the North. Now I know that a class like that isn't available because it would be OP but I can still RP. Now the first problem is I cannot really decide on which class should I choose for my ranger. I am 50/50 with Hunter and Champion. Hunter because it fits with the overall mood and feel of a ranger however I don't really want to focus on the bow as a primary weapon (At least not for my first char). Now my main problem is, I want to know if I would be able to use a bow, if I chose a champion, or a sword (held with either two or just one hand) if I choose a Hunter. I basically want to have best of both worlds but if I was forced to choose sword combat is what I want to focus on more.
    2. The first time I played I haven't really played long enough to understand the game mechanics. The problem in question here is Outfits. Now trying to roleplay a Range I would like to have the matching wardrobe of course. Now I'm not sure if there is a system in LOTRO but in ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) you are able to make an outfit so no matter what your character actually wears the outfit will always be showing. The same is possible with weapons. My question here is how early (and easy) can I obtain some Ranger wardrobe (and possibly weapons) that I can either use as an outfit or as equipment (or both maybe).
    3. This game has obviously captured Middle Earth in all it's glory. I think that's amazing but I also know that while it is a free to play game it isn't quite free to play. My question is how long will the Free to play period last, I know it's technically infinite but I'm asking how much gameplay will I get to experience before I am forced to buy the expansions. Also just out of curiosity what is the correct order to purchase expansions.

That's it. If anyone had read this whole post I thank you for taking your time to read my questions and possibly answer them. I really love the world of Middle Earth and after playing almost every other LotR game out there I think this one has earned for me to give it a second try.

Thank you all in advance for your answers!

LOTRO Point farm without Mythril coins, and shorter than 1 h?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 08:10 AM PST

    Hello!

I tried to farm LOTRO Points, and from what I saw, you are basically doing deeds and exploration and kills. Ok. I picked a man champion and went through the introduction. OK. Now, the next step was to go to Combe and horse yourself to Celodin. BUUUUT guess what. You need 1 mythril coin to do it. That sucks. So I RODE to fricking Shire to do the exploration there, because there is another farm path from Michel Delving. So I tried to do the rounds on the locations in no particular order, and got bored and for a 1 hour run, I got maybe 20 points.

    So yea..

Is there some short run where you can start exploring immediately? Do you need to finish the introduction to unlock deeds? Should I have started as dwarf? I just want like 50 points for 30 mins, to pass the time.

    What do?
