Population and Server questions Posted: 18 Jan 2020 10:04 PM PST I just came back after a 5 year or so break. From what I gather, lotro has switched from Turbine to SSG. The characters I had are on servers that have been deleted and it looks like the character transfers have been broken since September? The population is also considerably smaller than when I left. Makes me sad to see the shrinkage. For people who have played fairly consistently over the years do you feel like the game is dying? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Jan 2020 12:59 PM PST Hey. I was one of the guys that lost his account back years ago when they put together many servers, because I wasn't playing for a few months and never really looked up my emails. So I stopped until last week when a few old friends started again. So I joined and started again. I took a Hunter because I remember that I had a lot of fun with him back then. Also it is rather easy to play when I play solo most of the time. Now I have chosen the blue path since i like making damage while running around. But I heard that red does WAY more dmg in the end. I only have level 18 so far, so switching to red wouldn't be a big problem. So my question is if there still is hope for being good in my class in later content when I stay with blue. Oh, and if you are having tips for useful virtues, I would be happy to hear about them. So far I am using loyalty, wit, tolerance and Innocence. Have valour on 8/8, too because I did every hunting and exploration task so far. PS: I guess that monster game is pretty much dead on my server isn't very unusual? Had fun with it, but even back then not a lot of people where there. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 18 Jan 2020 04:31 AM PST I'm looking for a new windows desktop, capable of running adobe suite and lotro, my 2 favorite things! Max budget $700. I'm currently on a mac, and changes about a year ago prohibit me from logging into lotro. It's killin' me, man! What do yall suggest? Thanks!! [link] [comments] |
What resolution do you play at and is the HD pack worth it? Posted: 18 Jan 2020 10:30 AM PST Ok, guys! I barely managed to make this monstrosity work with Steam and Linux and the LOTROStore. I said I didn't want HD graphixx, because the other time that I wanted them I got the error 201 and also the invalid password error. So now it somehow works, and I'm afraid to touch anything. People say dx9 is ok- enough Anyway, when I get into the game, and pick the 1920x1080 resolution, the whole UI is so small, I can't read anything. So I play now on 1600, where everything is blurry as if I was playing on 1200. So, to keep it short:

Returning Player Looking for Direction on Account Purchases Posted: 18 Jan 2020 10:32 AM PST It's been a few years since I last played LOTRO, and now that (I think) most of the content has been released, I'd really like to play through all of it so I can see all of Middle Earth. But I'm not sure what else I need to purchase to do that. I'm not sure if it would be better for me to just go VIP for a while, or work on earning points to unlock content. Before installing the game this morning, I could see that I had expansions through Helm's Deep. Once I installed, I can see that I purchased Journeyman Riding at some point, as well as some extra shared storage spaces, but that's about it as far as account-wide unlocks go. To be clear, I'd probably start a new guy from scratch, because I don't know where I am on my other characters, and it's not as though I made a ton of progress on any of them. I have about 3990 LOTRO points currently. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
How are the legendary servers doing? Posted: 18 Jan 2020 04:24 AM PST So I like the idea, as late as I am to the party, to play at the pace of released content on the legendary servers. (although I've heard they release way too fast) So I'm wondering now what the population is like. When I played a while back, I was never the grouping kinda guy. I just did solo content, and fell off the cart right before I reached Moria. Now however, I'm actively playing to the idea of the legendary server. I started a Cap, so when I do reach the upper end of the content as it goes, I'm a group player. (Also a sucker for RP'ing so the idea of a ManCappy is just appealing too) But how are they actually doing? I went to Anor and played for maybe 30 minutes before I went to sleep, but before I go any further, I'd be curious to know what the playerbase is like, and if this idea of playing through content, with a somewhat support ideal in mind, is a bad idea.
