Is crafting worth it for a casual Hunter and Champion? Posted: 15 Jan 2020 08:54 PM PST I have been playing off and on since 2008, and I still, to this day, cannot figure out if I should be crafting or just gathering. I am mostly torn on my Hunter, as both Explorer and Woodsman sound so perfect. Would woodworking be useful for a hunter? I feel its just bows and that's it. My main issue is "do I need to craft to get gear and or weapons"? Cant I make enough gold from Explorer gathering to purchase what I need? Plus, skirmish vendors keep me well geared while leveling it seems... I also don't mind rep grinds for gear too. Is that available in the end game? And what about my Champion? Again, I feel maybe I should just go Explorer with him too and get gold... Some facts:
Thanks! [link] [comments]
That little stone in your shoe Posted: 15 Jan 2020 04:51 AM PST I started playing again after a very long break, and as I passed level 20 I started seeing steel-bound loot-boxes filling up my inventory. I know you can get rid of them, some certainly enjoys the contents and are more than willing to spend money on them. But the fact that I have to take an action each and every time one pops up simply because I don't want to pay for this box, this feels like a tiny rock is in my shoe every time. Sure, it is easy to take your shoe off, remove the rock and put the shoe back on. But it gets old really fast. This is for me the most mildly infuriating thing about lotro. Am I alone here ? Edit: just discovered the loot filter. Mind blown. [link] [comments]
LOTRO dragons questions and also LOTRO dragon lore questions Posted: 15 Jan 2020 04:23 PM PST Ok, besides: Draigoch, IsvĆtha, HrĆmil, thorog, and to a lesser extent bregmor, are than any more personally NAMED dragons that originate from LOTRO? If so, can you say there names? Also can you tell me the meaning of the names in lore? Like smaug was squeeze, gostir/gosthir was death glare/stare, etc..... (Dragon) Lore question(regarding everythingelse about the game): how come all of a sudden all the cold drakes/dragons breath ICE, and have wings? From what I remember reading, cold drakes didn't breath ANYTHING, period, and didn't have wings (unless some did), and the ones that DID have wings had four legs to walk on top off, not on top of their wings like a bat, so what gives? And if smaug was supposed to be the LAST great dragon, and last one with great fire, then can someone explain draigoch and hrĆmil, ESPECIALLY draigoch? He is literary a big dragon like smaug, has great flames like smaug, proclaims he is a GREAT dragon like smaug, EVEN acknowledges him, yet somehow went under the radar of Gandalf? What, how?!?! And while a necromancer had one breath mention in the hobbit, there was no mention of him PHYSICALLY bringing a corpse back to life, just summoning evil spirits, so Thorog SHOULD NOT EXIST. https://youtu.be/q7j0TwZlkd8 this link should explain Tolkien necromancy. Last, while the drakes should be that size and small, why do they look like wyverns instead of drakes or mini dragons? In Tolkien's lore the dragons definitely look like one of the two, that whole thing about them having sixlimbs is supposed to show that they are morgoths GREATEST perversion of life to the EXTREMES, aka scientifically through magic giving something more limbs that don't occur NATURALLY in nature for reptiles, and NATURALLY reptiles (minus feathered birds of today) don't have bat wings with high intelligence? I have always excepted that dragons in middle earth rather look like: draconic headed snakes, draconic head snakes with two legs, draconic headed four limbed lizard, and the winged ones look like traditional Northern French/British occidental dragons, and no winged ones looked like wyvern dragons. So can anyone care to explain why something so acclaimed by people to be EXACTLY lore committed and faithful to the books outside of characters and classes (aka the MAGIC classes shouldn't exist, except maybe for a lesser degree, with weaker magic, for ELVES only) messes up on on of the biggest creatures of the Tolkien verse? Don't get me wrong, still think it's a great game for the fact you can actually go open world and ROLE PLAY. But the things with the dragons kind of urk me. But basically I find only IsĆtha and bregmor the only lore accurate and lore friendly dragons in the whole LOTR. [link] [comments]
I just started this game on one of the legendary servers without knowing what they are. Mistake? Posted: 15 Jan 2020 02:11 AM PST I believe I am on ithor(not sure). I rarely see people running around in bree. I prefer to see more people. Will it get better? [link] [comments]
Any recent experiences with CheapPunk's MMO Stash? Posted: 15 Jan 2020 09:32 AM PST Hi all, did anyone recently (successfully) order from CheapPunk's MMO Stash? I ordered the quad pack code a couple of days ago, following recommendations from this subreddit. Now I'm not sure whether the site is still active. [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Jan 2020 06:36 AM PST Me and 2 friends are starting in this game. We live all in Spain, and were wondering what server to choose. Should we use a European server, or a North American one? I've read that all servers, even the European ones, are located physically on North America. [link] [comments]
Did the 64bit update actually improve performance on new/high-end rigs? Posted: 15 Jan 2020 11:09 AM PST So I played this game..Probably 3 years ago, and over the space of 3-4 months, I think I clocked about 200 hours in game. That being said, the first 150 hours were on an older laptop, that ran on low settings, but a steady 40fps or so. The final 50 hours, I had upgraded to a high end tower. I ran on max settings..30 fps. Ran on low settings..30 fps. There seemed to be no way around it. Dragging and dropping items felt tiresome because of the weird delay/jagedness. Recently found out that they updated their systems quite a bit..And it has me tempted. Thanks for any input! SIDENOTE: How is the game's playerbase? I played when people said it was dying, but of course world chat was a blast to take part in for the most part, never struggling too much for a team if needed. [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Jan 2020 06:52 AM PST Hello Everyone, I have been trying to play the game on the 64-bit client for well over a week now to no avail. I am of course on Windows 10, which I hear is a problem spot currently. I am able to play the 32-bit legacy client, which is limiting me to Directx9 options in the graphics as well. Is there any way to fix the DirectX issue as well as get up to playing on the 64-bit client to utilize my assets better? I have tried the fresh install and repair which does nothing for the issue. When I select the 64-bit client and launch the game, there is just no response. The launcher closes and the client never starts up. I would really appreciate any help. I was a longtime player way back when and really want to enjoy the game to the fullest again. [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Jan 2020 04:06 AM PST Hello, For a couple of years I have heard of this game and tried to make an account. For some time I didn't get an account because the link didn't work (there were others with the same problem, dating back to 5years ago already). Is this a commonly known issue? How can I work around it? Besides all that, is it worth it for me to jump in? I've never really played an MMORPG, I like the LOTR universe and thought I would give it a try since it should be F2P? Or is there a big pay to win scheme? A lot of questions, I know, but I was hoping some of you might take the time to answer and help me get involved in this world :). Thanks in advance!! Is this game heavily monitised? Posted: 15 Jan 2020 03:24 AM PST I'm looking to get back into an MMORPG that's going to take all my focus and interest. The last one that did this was Guild Wars 1. I understand this is a free game and I'm all for paying for expansions, but is this game monetised so much that all the cool stuff is hidden behind a paywall? I'm currently trying out ESO but it frustrates me that all the cool mounts, outfits, furniture etc.... I have to pay for with more money. Thanks [link] [comments] |
