    Come play those older instances!

    Posted: 21 Jan 2020 01:44 PM PST

Are you a new or returning player and want to enjoy the older content? Do you want people to hang with while exploring those early areas? If you want to get a sense of what LOTRO was like during Shadows of Angmar and Mines of Moria, then look no further than Turtle Recall. We're a kinship on Arkenstone who wants to be the go-to kinship for doing all early level content. We want to grow a community that helps each other with low level crafting/virtues/book quests and of course, instances.

We plan on having various characters locked at a few different levels so we can run content all the time without ever out-leveling it. Our current goal is to reach level 50 and do the instances at that level such as Carn Dum, The Rift and Helegrod. We'll also be working on follow-up characters and once they hit 50, we'll unlock the others and move them up to 65 to begin the Moria/Mirkwood instances. Later we'll go to 75 and possibly 85 but we'll always have characters locked at those early levels to run the content again for whoever would like to do them whether it be kin members or pugs.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your low level alts that are wasting away. Add Malblack or Blakquint to your friends list and message me in-game or PM me for a Discord invite.

    Alright Crickhollow, I choose you!

    Posted: 21 Jan 2020 05:41 PM PST

If anyone saw my other post I have recently returned to Lord of the Rings Online. I couldn't access my old account so I started fresh on Arkenstone and had fun getting back into the game the past couple days.

Well this morning I got a response to my support ticket and regained access to my old account! My characters are in limbo until transfers are up and running so I checked which servers I had some of my old names on.

It seems Crickhollow is the one, so I am going to call that my new home, (I miss you Elendilmir). The server seems pretty friendly, from talking a bit in World chat, and not to populated which I prefer.

Going to probably tryout a dwarf guardian while I wait on transfers, (my old main is a burg), and get back into things.

I'm hoping to meet some folks on this server, make some new friends and have some MMO fun again!

If anyone has any Kinship suggestions that'll take an oldie relearning things please let me know.

And I am fairly new to Reddit as well and hope I am posting correctly, (it is slightly confusing).

Can someone explain exactly how to use the Instance Finder?

    Posted: 21 Jan 2020 06:36 PM PST

Like I just learned it's possible for some to set lower levels, which I've done to a couple to solo, but I don't understand how to actually group up with someone. If I go to the Instance Finder and join someone's instance, it just puts my name next to there's, it doesn't group us up or anything. If I then port to the instance, I'm always alone.

On the other side, if I form my OWN instance, other people will join, but they don't appear in the instance or anything, so I don't understand how to properly use it aside from setting levels low so I can solo.

Update 25.3 Release Notes (Wednesday, January 22nd)

    Posted: 21 Jan 2020 09:37 PM PST

I just came to Bree. Lvl 15. How can I get to 20 safely without dying, with crafting or something safe?

    Posted: 21 Jan 2020 06:47 AM PST

I tried to level with copper, but it is mega slow, and ores cost a billion dollars on the auction. I made ingots on the smelter with prospector, and then made copper shavings and ingots again with the jeweler for 25exp each.

Is there any safe way to get the other 5 levels, and how can I make sure I don't randomly die to a disconnect?

Any personalized tips for a brand new Ranger?!

    Posted: 21 Jan 2020 03:59 PM PST

Hello fellow Lord of the Rings Onlinians...

This is my first go and I am pretty amped to get in. I've been told to start Free, then around 30 buy VIP and get to 45, then start buying expansion packs?

Anyways, any hands-on Ranger tips for someone who enjoys both solo and group play? I rolled on the Arkenstone (sp) server, in hopes that I can find some people at lower levels to play with as I go. I'd hate to run this solo all the way through!

Any major things that could be EASILY missed, that you wish YOU knew as a complete newbie to Lotro?

My goal is to eventually group with people and do dungeons etc. etc.

Would love to hear some Ranger specific newbie tips if you have any. I just got my first trait(?) point, and heading down the red column.
