| Posted: 11 Jan 2020 01:49 AM PST Possibly silly question here, but I have been playing for a while now but very much neglecting crafting. I am now going back and trying to make sure I have complete recipes for all the tiers, but there was a recipe (Cook: Hornblower's Pie) that is a quest reward that I must have sold back when I didn't know what I was doing. I am wondering if there is any way to get it back, or get it some other way - I had an alt do the quests but the recipe is bound to the character. [link] [comments] | ||

| Returning Hunter - Assistance with Legendary's Posted: 10 Jan 2020 05:53 PM PST Hello! I've finally managed to acquire the recipes for level 100 legendary's and I'm looking to build some but I haven't played in ages so I'm not sure what legacies are worth going for. I'm mainly a solo/quester player and I'm currently running blue with a splash of red. I was thinking of taking the X-Bow along with the Spear. Any advice on legacies/gems/etc will be gratefully appreciated! Also apologies if this is in the wrong place. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 10 Jan 2020 06:18 PM PST I open the launcher, log in, pick a server, press Play, and the launcher either crashes or returns to the log in screen. This is SEPARATE from the problem with the steam launcher which had a patch put out for it a few days ago. I know that I am not the only one with this problem as there are complaints describing it on the Lotro.com forums, steam community hub, and here on reddit. (The most recent post on steam is "please remove this game from steam"). Repairing, reinstalling, changing to the 64 bit version, installing an older version of DirectX (I have 12 and tried installing 9), deleting the UserPreferences config file, downloading the launcher directly from the LOTRO website, and running the program in compatibility mode do not work. Using the "DirectX Update Tool" as recommended on the support site changes the way that the problem stops working, but it still stops working. There's something about the C++ distributable on the same site that I can't figure out how to implement but looks a little outdated anyway. I think having directx 12 is part of the problem but I can't do anything about it. From the reddit feed, it looks like there are still people who can play the game as of 1/10, right? Given that WB dumped this game years ago and it's being run mostly as a labor of love, I'm more than happy to be patient while the devs work it out, but I haven't seen any sign they're aware of it yet, and I can't find a working contact link.
