Okay, I’ve played for two wonderful years now, but there’s one thing I still don’t understand...

When you're in an instance, defending an NPC such as Torthann who's got a green spidery design thing under his feet, why does he turn and start to run away and then turn again and run back in the right direction?

Confusing, at least the first 500 times it happened...

    Returning - Brandywine?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 11:09 PM PST

When I left a couple years ago Brandywine was the most populated server. Is Brandywine still hopping?

    Some basic questions

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 11:27 AM PST

Hi, I see the "new" page is completely taken by similar posts like mine yet I still haven't found my answers. I'm sorry.

I'm still unsure if I would pay 15 dolars a month since I work 4 hours for that money in my country. I love Tolkiens work and I also used to enjoy WoW (WotLK) when I was younger. I would like to know a few things before getting into this game and realising it's not for me. So there are a few questions I have that will determine my decision. Forgive me for calling stuff by the names from WoW or some ARPGs since I don't know the real names.

    1. Does something like raid and dungeon instances exist and if so, how time consuming it is? (Had to quit wow because I just couldn't raid for 5 hours.)

    2. Is there a way to reset your skill trees/talents, specializations or other things that could be somehow limited? It's just something I like. Trying a lot of stuff before I settle for something that suits me.

    3. Is there a lot to do in adition to just fighting and grinding? I mean everything like side quests for some visual equipment, mounts. Or something like fishing, professions that could be somehow beneficial for you.

    4. Is the game alive? Are players active? Are they helpful or do they care only about their own progress. How's the community?

    5. Is the world diverse enough to be enjoyable? I mean if you fight different, interesting enemies/monsters in each area or is it still the same, just different colour and higher stats? Same goes for cities, nature, quests.

That would be all, only a little question about which class and which spell tree would be most similar to these wow classes: shadow priest, hunter, warlock.

Thank you for answers in advance.

How are Legendary realms doing? Classic WoW player thinking about going into LOTRO

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 09:39 AM PST

After four months packed with WoW Classic I am looking for a new game to check out. Ive always been a huge Tolkien fan and I am interested in Legendary Realms. Whats the population there? Is LOTRO slower/faster, bigger/smaller than Classic WoW? What about quests and replayability? I have played ESO if that helps and I loved crafting there. Cheers!

Come back to lotro ... completely overchallenged

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 03:19 AM PST

    Hey there!

As a lotro player since the first closed beta (back in 2005 if I remember right) I played this game for a decade ... some pauses with excursions to other games here and there but over all with every update and so on.
After the mordor update the game become very boring to me and I quit.
Played other games since then which all become boring after a time.
So now I want to go back to lotro.

For the game I also made a rollback from macOS Catalina, to macOS Mojave :D (ok ... not THE only reason but a main one :D ) on my iMac.
So download done, game startet ... logged in again to my lvl 109 Champion (which was my main beside all other classes on lvl 105) and DAMN! ... How the game works??? :D
I feel like a complete noob and have nearly NO idea what to do.
What is the main stuff at the moment? Which regions are worth to buy in the shop? (I have a hell bunch of coins since my account is one of the old Codemasters LifeTime ones):
My gear was ... shit :D ... Dol Amroth gear with lvl 8 or 9 (I don´t remember) "things" (I even don´t remember the name of this insertions) and a completly overfilled inventory :D
This shiny thing gears which was needed in the mordor region ... I got none of it :D

It is SO overchallenging that I quit the game and decide to get some information what happened until then and what is the "main" goal now

What can you fellas recommend, besides starting a new char and playing all again to get again "into" it :)

    Returning Player Questions!

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 05:38 AM PST

Hi all! Amarandir of Ithil here.

I recently plunged back into the lovely online world of Lord of the Rings and while I am learning many of the basics again as I level I was curious about a few things and was hoping for some tips from veteran players.

    1. What sorts of things are worth selling on the AH? So far I've been collecting the crafting materials and recipes that I've found since in most MMOs they are better sold to players than vendored.
    2. How far advanced in progression is Ithil? Even if it is farther along is it easier to find groups for lower content and raids from lower tiers?
    3. What are some good Youtube and Twitch content creators I can look at for guides and whatnot?
    4. I am a High Elf Captain, what sort of tips do you have for that combination in terms of gear and stuff?
    5. Would you serve the Witch King?

    Thanks for any responses!
