Stats from 2 months of Textures of the Day

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 10:16 AM PST

The first LOTRO Texture of the Day was posted on December 19th. I figured that after two months, it'd be fun to have a look back at some interesting stats.

    Days: 64

    Textures: 57

Nemarus' failure rate: 10.9% (I thought I did better than this)

    Top 3 upvoted

    1. A meme in watercolour
    2. Wholesome hobbit art
    3. Peacock couch

    Bottom 3

Nemarus' personal favorite: I still believe this is the most impressively textured enemy in the game. His shield alone is one of the best textures.

    Fun Stats

    • 14 enemies
    • 6 tapestries
    • 4 animals
    • 3 NPCs
    • 3 doors
    • 3 chairs
    • 3 clothing items
    • 2 paintings

If you want to see the complete list in chronological order, just use this search link.

Thank you for all the upvotes and supportive comments. It definitely motivates me to keep this up!

And thank you LOTRO artists for all of your amazing work in bringing Middle-earth to life in such stunning detail.

    Shiny/shimmering looking weapons

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 08:15 AM PST

Kind of noob question but i see some folks running around with their weapons being all shiny and shimmering. I know different weapon types have different glows but I'm not talking about it. For example I saw someone's bow being all white and glowy but its beleriand damage which should be blue. Anyone knows how to get it? TIA!

Q: Do you have to do epic quest lines in order to get prize/access/content? Explained below

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 09:55 AM PST

    Good day to everyone,

I'm on my first and primary toon still working my way toward the 140 end game cap. When I went through Moria, I had done several side quests and rep quests for faction in Moria to get the goat mounts. By doing this though, it took a bit longer to gain the faction required to purchase these mounts. When I finally exited Moria and moved on through the Lothlorien landscape I found I was higher level than I needed to be in order to complete quests in Loth. So I made the unwise decision to by-pass the Lothlorien content and head over River's Edge and then got into the Dol Guldur content...and proceeded on from there. I'm now up to 120 and need to speak to Galadriel in Lothlorien in order to gain access to the Dale/Ironfold lands. I cannot enter Caras Galadon (sorry if spelling is incorrect). It does say there is an alternate way to speak to Galadriel through Court of Celeborn, but according to LOTRO wiki it says CoC is an instance where you can interact with the characters in CoC but not a travelable site within the game.

My question is, do I HAVE to go back to Book 2 and complete all of the menial tasks to unlock this gate to Caras Galadon or can I simply travel my way through the lands and continue questing in the new Northern Mirkwood/Dale zones without having completed Book 2 of the epic quest line?

    Why the new LIs?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 12:02 AM PST

Hey Guys, pretty much the title without prejudice, I'm just curious! :D

Until Rohan I played nearly daily, but since then rather irregularly. Now I've come again back after a several months break and read everywhere about the new LIs and that the old Legendary weapons are more or less worthless. So I just wanted to ask why new LIs were introduced and what they should do better compared to the old legendary weapons (or what the flaw was with the old ones)

    Cheers

Is there anything unique you lose from skipping the tutorial? Like a title, deed, or anything similar?

    All DLC codes

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 10:09 AM PST

I keep reading about these from users, any idea of a timetable when the Lotro team would be giving these codes out? Would it be on Twitter or the forums? I'm trying to be as cool as the players who have all the DLC.

    Starting together

    Posted: 20 Feb 2022 03:15 PM PST

    Hey everyone,

I want to play a new character on lotro. Is someone interested to join me in my adventure?

I really like mmorpg's, but only when i play it with others. Sadly my friends are not into gaming…

Does anyone know of the name of the combat soundtrack with the violins(?) that plays in the Ettenmoors?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 12:28 AM PST

Idk if it's specific to creeps or not but I don't have a freep high enough to test it out lol

But there's this one combat soundtrack that plays that's unlike the others, that's kinda, I guess celtic sounding? And I wish I knew the name of it because it's really good and wish it was longer! D:

    Skipping Galadriel's Dream

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 12:13 AM PST

Now, as a completionist, I didn't wanted to left this quest unfinished but I had to due to black screen problem.

Is there anything I'm going to miss now or later except for the cutscenes that I watched numerous times before? Like a title or deed? Anything collectible?

    hey, i'm new...

    Posted: 20 Feb 2022 05:37 AM PST

not only to lotro, but to rpg's in general, so please forgive my ignorance. :)

my first character (elf lore-master) is at level 32 and running out of quests. i just discovered the "deeds", which will keep me busy for another few hours and bring me to around 600 LP's.

if i want to continue f2p, how should i proceed?

do the few fellowship quests i still have? i tried them solo but eg retake weathertop is too difficult.

buy evendim with my lotro points? or another region/thingie?

    tia!

    Level Boost

    Posted: 20 Feb 2022 02:17 PM PST

Is it worth getting the collector's edition for the level boost to 130 (or whatever the max level is)?

I'm thinking of doing that, and then going back to the starting area, and following the main quest, just playing for the story. I'd like to be able to do that without starting at max level, kinda like you can with SWTOR, but I keep running into mission that are too high level for me, and then I've got to go around doing side quests.

Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of the lore the side quests give to the setting, but I'd rather just follow the main quest if possible.

    So is it worth it?

    Thanks in advance!

When I put my cursor over the window on the bottom bar of my screen where all the widgets are , it shows the logon page, but when I click on it nothing pops up. Any ideas ? I've un-installed it 3 times

    Landroval kinship

    Posted: 20 Feb 2022 09:40 AM PST

Is there a good kin to join on Landroval? I am looking for a casual kin. Fun, chatty, likes the lore of LOTR. And one that won't necessarily kick me out if I don't login for like 4-5 months (which is normal for me).

    Question for new, F2P player?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 10:55 PM PST

Hey there, look I've tried the game for like half an hour before, but never really gotten into it. My main MMO is SWTOR, and while it's great and I'm going to continue playing it, I'm looking for something new. I just have a few small questions, that I would really appreciate if you could answer.

    1. Is f2p viable? And for how long? Is there a level cap, reduced xp like in SWTOR, etc?
    2. How much content is available to f2p, is part of the world locked etc? Also is it several instances, or one big open world like in wow, or is it several smaller open worlds like in SWTOR (different planets).
    3. Is the sub worth it? Can you make a one time payment, and what are benefits to just subbing once? Do you purchase expansions separately?
    4. Is there a main story, and how long can you play it for?
    5. Is Solo content any good?
    6. Does the world look cool and big (main reason I want to play this game)

    Issue with Gundabad Expansion

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 09:45 PM PST

So my husband really wants to play a brawler, and went through the process of buying the Gundabad expansion so he could have access to it. The window that opens up within the game was giving him issues so he went onto the store through chrome, bought the expansion under his account, and then figured he was good... no dice.

It's still showing him that he has to buy the brawler. For whatever reason it doesn't seem to be connecting to his account and seeing the purchase? He's tried shutting the game down and even restarting his computer and it still hasn't connected. Hoping somebody else here has had a similar issue and has an idea what to do to fix it or if it just needs some time.

    Thanks in advance!
