New player, leveling question?

Hello I played this game on release and got to Max level and never really touched it since. Yesterday my brother and I started playing it again and I have a few questions and there isn't a lot of updated information out there to be had.

1- we got vip , are there any additional pick ups from the lotro store that we should get to help us start?

2- what are traits? Are they the things on the left of the talent tree? If so do they not get unlocked with vip? Mine still redirect me to the store if I click them

3- I am a guardian, is there a better tree for leveling up as a solo/duo? I am currently doing the red tree and it seems fine but from some old info it said yellow is the best for leveling?

4- do we not get all the expansions with a vip membership? I assumed we did but I still see on their site expansion bundles for sale ranging from 50-120$.

5- is end game raiding still alive in this game? Our goal is to get Max level and do end game content but I don't see a lot of active guilds or anything. (We are on arkenstone)

Brand new player, trouble with game settings (crashing)

I just installed the game off the website, not Steam.

I have a laptop and so I wanted to use lower graphic settings.

It's automatically set to "highest" and when I tried to set it to middle or low, the game instantly exited and I got a message that says something like "Direct3D couldn't be initialized. Please make sure you have directx 9.0 or higher installed."

I'm not computer savvy, do I need to get this from somewhere?

Can anyone tell me the purpose of these I made a small fortune on the ones not bound to my account and still have some that are bound to my account as with that I'm quite curious why I was able to make off pretty well with the ones I was able to sell?

What's the best server in Lotro?

Right now I am playing in Gladden. Is that server populated? I heard that Arkenstone was most populated. Should I make a new character there? I'm new to the game so I want to pick a server to focus on. Thanks lotro community <3

New Players leveling as a group

Hey guys, some friends and I are going to play LOTRO soon and were wondering if you can play as a group from level 1 or if you need to do certain things before you can group?

Also: Does the race matter for playing together or is there one collective "starting zone" for all races?
